Based on my two experiences here…read more CAMPING: It's inexpensive. Noise level is a little below average, because not a lot of people come here or know about this place. A fire pit, and grill are provided, and restrooms are just a couple minutes away (fairly clean). People who camp here or come here with their RV's are very friendly! It's really BEAUTIFUL at night! Many stars to gaze at, I've seen over 20+ falling stars. There's also coyotes, so be aware and keep your food in a secure place. ENVIRONMENT: There's not much to do here honestly. In the summer, you can use the pool, maybe play a game of pool table since there is a "game center" in the same building as the office. But the arcade games haven't worked in years! The only thing I did here was use the pool and maybe did a good mile hike around the gated campgrounds... not much sight seeing though.. There is a shuttle bus that will come pick you up to go to the Viejas Casino if you don't want to walk there. I see many campers take advantage of that since there's gambling, food places, and shoppes there if people are that bored. Overall, this place has so much potential. I hope in the future things will change here because it's located in a beautiful area, but the owners need to think about making this a memorable place that families would want to come back. I know there's a slight chance I might come back.

We spent 3 nights here in August of 2026 and were delighted that we did. It's an oasis in downtown Oceanside. The staff are delightful, the resort is very will organized and well maintained. There's a locked gate to enter a very short path to Buccaneer Beach. Spaces are concrete paved and the utilities are perfectly positioned. My only comment would be that there's not much room between spaces so it's tight, but still very maneuverable. Keep in mind, this is prime real estate close to the beach, so it's expected that they need to make the best use of their acreage. Paradise is a very neat place to get away.

So this review is from someone who actually doesn't like camping and won't go willingly. Group site camping was something I was willing to try, given that it's ideal for families and a group site is contained a little better than individual sites. The group site has several tables under a overhang area and there's a nice spread for laying out meals. can accommodate 50 people, unfortunately kids count within that number so the downside is that you do have to be mindful of how many people are in your party. I think the group site could have easily housed 50 adults and 30 kids under the age of 13. There are bathrooms and showers on site to the group site, tokens need to be purchased at the entrance, it's $1 for 2 tokens, and 1 token is 2 minutes of water. One of the families in our group was smart to take a shower as a family before leaving and they didn't need to use as many tokens as they thought they needed. Bathrooms were fairly clean, bring your own soap. I highly recommend the travel soap sheets to throw in your pocket which will dissolve to soap with water. I did find that there were a ton of flies in the picnic area, so remember to cover your food because it'll be annoying. There's a water spigot in the picnic area so you'll be set to boil your water. There are nearby trails that are Kid friendly on this site, which was fun for everyone. Julian was 18 minutes north of this site and it was a nice place to stop by for an apple pie. I would camp here again but only in a group setting. I still stand by not being a camper willingly, at the end I just wanted to leave but it had nothing to do with the actual site. I can see avid campers enjoying this site
