Do not sign up for there services. look at the reviews first. when you sign up they try to get you for top dollar. We left and came back the last day and it was SIGNIFICANTLY lower. Then you try to make payment with them monthly, but there is NEVER anyone to answer the phones. It makes it IMPOSSIBLY then they send you to collections because they won't let you set up automatic pay. Then you break it after collections so they can start the whole process over again to others. We stayed as guests of members/friends. We had a nice time. All of the kids had fun. There is miniature golf, 2 playgrounds, plenty of rocks to be thrown into the dry creek beds. Beautiful views from the higher lookout spots. The clubhouse had great live music, free coffee, hot chocolate/tea. Many tables and chairs. Families playing board games/card games. The pool table was busy. The tv lounge area was full and comfortable. The little store has many essentials one would need while camping. Our cabin is newly remodeled and very nice. KQ Ranch is a nice place in the mountains. They have fool hook-ups basket ball courts, tennis court, a recreational center and other stuff, but unfortunately, the pond was more like a mud pond. One great thing was there was a group of people in the tennis court at night with telescopes out and we were welcome to look through the eyepiece, some great information and a story or two. We got the stay for two nights and three days for free, but there was a catch to it, but I'll take that any day. Very cold very windy place. I'm sure it will be more fun during the summer. read more

Received a free stay with recent travel trailer purchase so we did have to sit through the sales presentation. Not as bad or high pressured as we dreaded. Alison was great, very informative and understood that this wasn't something that made sense for us at this time. Nice campground, everyone was super friendly but it is older and could use a little facelift in some areas. Worse F'n customer service ever!!! They never answer their phones, the billing department is a mess. I've had our membership for 4yrs now (paid in full) and they never seem to have spots available. But if you are a new potential customer they will accommodate you with their top of the line RV spots to sucker you into buying a membership. DON'T FALL FOR THEIR GIMMICKS AND TRICKS!!! Also note: once you have your membership paid off they increase the annual fee by $200/yr which is not on the contract agreement! DO NOT GET SUCKERED INTO A MEMBERSHIP. We were invited to KQ Ranch through our RV purchase at Camping World and received $200 for gas plus 20 days of free camping. The only catch was attending a presentation. Richard was super friendly, informative, and very patient with our two little ones. They even provided snacks, drinks, and a movie for the kids, which made it easy to relax and listen. There was absolutely no pressure to buy, though Richard really tried to make it work for us. We were grateful for his down-to-earth approach. The campground itself is calm and serene, with beautiful views and plenty of activities--pool, spa, mini golf, arts and crafts for the kids, and more. We're excited to come back and use the rest of our camping days, and maybe even consider a purchase in the future. read more

We stayed at K.Q. RANCH this weekend, the campground is located in a remote area of Julian, Ca. About 30 minutes from Julian Pie company. The amenities were excellent, clean restrooms, great sized pool, and toys to borrow while you're there. Like golf clubs for mini-golf, wiffle ball bat and balls to use at the baseball field, and much more. We even went to their candy bingo where everyone is a winner of full-sized candy bars. Their activities were so fun! The staff were as friendly, helpful and their customer service was excellent! Lori at the store was the sweetest! And Nate was a cool guy. Good: FREE stay. We had a nice time at our campsite in our new Jayco and in the town of Julian. Bad: Swimming pool looked not well. An adult couple at the pool had hands all over each other with plenty on hand to watch, sadly the entire campground looked like it was needing an update. The maintenance at our spot was not maintained; cigarette butts everywhere and dead leaves everywhere, only 30 amps(use to 50:)and our sales pitch older guy needed some professionalism when we declined the pitch. My husband and I visited this past weekend. To start, our GPS misled us to the wrong turn, not a nice thing in the dark, with a very long trailer and on a steep windy road where traffic drives fast. Pay attention, you want to turn on KQ Ranch rd, NOT Cuyamaca Meadows (private rd). I love this resort! Reminds me of camping with my parents when I was young. There is so much to do for everyone. This is a big kids paradise and my heart was full seeing all of the families having quality time together. Fall is a lovely time to visit this park. Cool crisp air while sitting around the campfire (propane). The clubhouse serves meals and always has coffee, tea and cocoa available from a dispenser. We did not know that Julian is a tourist attraction during the fall due to the apple orchards and famous apple pie (available in almost every store and at KQ on Fridays). We visited Julian Friday morning and were able to see everything we wanted with no lines or having to navigate through 5k people-I RECOMMEND VISITING JULIAN DURING THE WEEK, at least during the fall. Resteraunts are expectedly pricey. Things to keep in mind about the resort: there is a very nice tree canopy, some of the trees have giant pine cones, if you do not want pine cones dropping on your roof then do not park under trees. There are tack/puncture weeds, if anyone plans on riding a bike, it is best to put tire slime in the tube, and regularly check your pets feet. read more

The RV campground in totality is nice, huge, and was quiet everything is there, pool, clubhouse, games, etc. We are fairly new to RV camping, and decided to look into KQ Ranch, which was part of the whole RV purchase from Camping World. We sat through the sales pitch/offers but were surprised at how much it would cost for the membership and annual fees. We politely declined. The representative wrote us a check for $200 from an out of state bank. The check did not clear or was cancelled. read more

Well we are owners and this place has some good bones. March is a great time to go if you want to be alone. It breaks my heart to see how a few nails, wood replacement, little paint would make this more attractive. It's not that much work and just paint will give this place a positive review. I love it so much here, that on that after our complentary stay m i was ready. My husband at the time he was not. Forward some months later . We came back again and signed up. Love that it is just an 1 hour and 20 minutes from me. If you dont want the hassle of taking the rv, they do have cabins and cottages for rent. And the sales office staff is wonderfully wonderful as I have bonded with them all, and on my trips there, i occasionally go in just to say hi and get my snacks. If you dont want the hassle of cooking, you can purchase meal tickets. For 7 bucks cant go wrong with that. And if interested, check out the wolves' tours next door. Make sure to use the coupon that they hand out when you check in . You'll save 10 dollars, and all proceeds go to them for the upkeep. Check in at the gate went well (we did check in on a Thursday). First time renting a cottage. Stayed in #107 which was close to the pool; no trees for shade though; It was roomy; a lil outdated; mattress covers were stained; dirty; would rate it a 7 for cleanliness; they provide kitchen essentials but no cutting board. It's a beautiful place to relax; calm; pool could use more chairs: the store hours are inconvenient--close at 4pm. Breakfast at the clubhouse was good. Will be returning. read more

As always, the employees are friendly and helpful. We lucked out with the location of our cabin. Cabin 173 has a great view from the front porch. We loved staying in the cabin and also loved staying in a trailer. KQ Ranch is also great for tent camping, which is where we started over 15 years ago. The bathrooms and showers are very well maintained and there's also a laundry room, if you need it. The food prepared at the clubhouse is delicious and very reasonably priced. The country store has everything you may need for a fun camping experience. Since the town of Julian is only 4 miles away, we made three trips to shop and eat. I highly recommend this camp resort. Bought a membership to this place and have used it a lot. My favorite part (aside from all the activities), is the wonderful staff!! They have meals so I don't have to cook every time, and they are so kind about dietary restrictions! I am kosher and gluten free and they find options for me every time--sometimes throwing in an extra side to make it equal. They go above and beyond to make me feel included, and the food is delicious! Our recent trip was unfortunately the norm. They sell sell sell this place to people to think they own it. My kid asked someone breaking the rules smoking and drinking in the hot tub at 5pm to please stop so she could enjoy it (properly supervised by her 21-year-old sister. And was told by the campers that they owned the place (they don't). I asked the gate "security" to have them removed for breaking the rules, yelling and swearing at my kid, only to be told "I didn't see it" so we had to leave and they stayed. The place is in desperate need of upgrades, the only bright spot--and truly a bright spot--is the kitchen staff. They make delicious food and Dawn is such a kind person who tried to get us to go back to the hot tub (the smoking, drinking idiots were still there). I hope for their sake this place stays open but we will not be back after it took me an hour to console my kid. read more

They have a dog park for the furry babies. The grounds are very clean and for members they have great cabins to use are great. Ridiculous membership sales pitch - but overall a nice campground. I just wanted a nice campground up near Julian with lots of amenities - Found KQ on Google search and called to make a reservation. I was told I could only camp "for free" but that I'd be required to hear a sales pitch about the camping membership. Okay... There aren't any other campgrounds with the pool and other amenities this close to Julian so I said "Why not?". Upon arriving - the campground was nice. It has all of the amenities that were boasted online and the property was pretty decent. Restrooms/showers, pool and clubhouse all clean. My husband and I went to the required sales pitch our second day camping at 9am (not so great to have to get up early on vacation). The ladies in the office were nice - they entertained my 7 year old, gave us all drinks and snacks. The sales pitch on the other hand was ridiculous. You can stay in 6 or 7 "home campgrounds" for free and then get reduced rates on the national network of other campgrounds. Additionally you get "travel agent" service and reduced costs on timeshares ALL OVER THE WORLD for like $99! All for the low low price of $26K! BUT if you buy it TODAY - Its only $16K (not including the $600 and $300 maintenance fees you are charged each year). I asked if I could see the availability on the cheap timeshares and was told No - you have to be a member to get to see those... (I've seen this before where they talk about how you can travel the world and stay for $100 a week in the most beautiful locations, come to find out those locations are never actually available and the pricing is actually "seasonable" so you can always expect to pay much higher rates - a total scam). The sales guy was kind of nice throughout the presentation but he got pretty abrupt when we declined. My husband said he made it a point to never make such large financial decisions without having time to "sleep on it" and the salesmen was clear we'd never get that deal ever again. As if they'd refuse my $16,000 a week later if I offered it for this ridiculous membership. They did tell us we'd be getting $200 in free gas, a $100 amazon card and 20 additional free nights at this campground just for coming up and hearing the pitch. Please note: the amazon card is a form you have to fill out and mail to to someone - so not sure if I'll ever see that. The gas is a "rebate" where you have exactly 240 days from the day of the sales pitch to go to a shell gas station for gas 4 times, spread out a minimum of 60 days apart each where they will reimburse you for no more than $50 for each trip. MMMmmm and the deal is completely void after 240 days. So if I had gone to a shell station for gas THE SAME DAY as the sales pitch and then gone again exactly 60 days apart three more times. I'd have a shot at getting the full $200? The hoops to jump through - shady. Our camping neighbor was a member and we asked him about it - he said RUN don't walk away from the deal. The other campgrounds were trash and couldn't get a reservation at places he actually wanted to stay. On the weekend a large party of folks pulled in to a campsite nearby and were thumping the LOUDEST bass music I've ever heard for literally hours. I tried calling the office, the ranger and the other phone numbers provided - no one ever answered my calls nor returned them and I had to eventually go ask the campers myself to turn it down - the walls of my trailer were vibrating and my child was crying that the noise was so loud her ears hurt. At that point I was really glad I hadn't paid $16K to camp at a place where the staff was no where to be found after 4pm and didn't police the campers for basic decency to keep a semi-peaceful atmosphere. If you want a free camping stay - go for it - it's overall a nice place but not worth tens of thousands of dollars. read more

We bought into this campground and have been satisfied! If you didn't know this was a membership campground before accepting an invitation ... you knew! There is so much to do in the area! Great food, antique shops, mom & pop shops, gold mining places to visit and the California Wolf Center is right next door! The ranch itself is quite large and can get busy and overrun on a weekend! Our last visit the power went out on a Saturday and it was hot and didn't come back on for five hours. A community member said there were too many units running AC that was a massive drain for the equipment they have! Why hasn't this been upgraded? You have hundreds of members that pay $499 and up annually each and you can't afford to fix a weak electrical system? How about the roads and the rundown rental trailers? Come on! They just installed new laundry equipment in the laundry room which is quite nice! However, avoid buying a card and use the app! The price paid for the card ($10) comes with a balance of $0 and it's yours forever! The money on the card isn't transferable to the app, so FORGET THE CARD! Download the app instead. I went to the store and inquired but being so new it seemed that nobody knew anything! A card should be returnable for a refund! The activities are plentiful! From hybrid wolves to live performances to great food! I love biscuits and gravy on Sundays! Should be everyday! The pool off the clubhouse is large except they don't allow umbrellas out there anymore ... enjoy the heat! No place for shade. So remember, you're camping and enjoy what you have ... and then ask them to fix the rest! read more

We had a nice stay! You can rent cozy cabin units to stay in or you can bring your camper. Staff are friendly. They are dog friendly and have a giant dog park! My dog was able to get all of his energy out in the dog park. They have a little convenience store on site with anything you may need. They have a small park for small children, a miniature golf area as well as grassy areas for guests to play soccer or other sports. We attended when they provided dinner for a small fee, food was delicious, we ate in the warm dining room, they have a nice fireplace with books to read as well. Bathrooms are very clean and heated as well. The night we went they also had people out that invited everyone to look through the telescope's they had set up, we got too see Saturn! We hope to return soon and explore more of the camp! read more

I am an inheritance daughter who visited KQ after 10yrs. My parents bought this membership in the late 80's. And since then there has been no changes to the property. I was expecting paved roads, cleared brush, organized activities for kids, another pool, wifi, instead we are told to park very far from the pool, experienced broken pavement by the tennis courts and basketball court hoop is falling apart. Beware that pool has minimal maintenance, water looked green like a lake not crystal blue. Even the KQ Ranch sign is falling apart. It's a shame this place has some potential but it seems no one cares to make changes or upgrades. Especially with the amount of money people pay for the membership. I don't believe we will visit this site again, which is a shame. The town Julian is worth traveling to stay but not worth a membership if I had to get one. I'd shop elsewhere! read more

Since we got the trip for free we needed to do a tour of the property and be informed of the membership benefits and costs. While we declined the membership in the end, I wanted to recognize our sales guy for a few reasons. Joshua was very polite and made us feel comfortable in a sales environment. This was a no pressure sales pitch. He did a great job explaining all of the benefits of the membership, which makes the membership worth the cost without a doubt. Like many posters here, we finally gave in and accepted the invitation for a free 3 day 2 night stay if you sit through a 90 min presentation, plus a few other gifts. We love the town of Julian, and this place is a short 10 min drive, so the location is GREAT!. The staff is really wonderful. David Miller was our salesperson/consultant. He was very friendly, not pushy at all, and really knows his stuff. That was refreshing. [I did question a few of his comments about State campgrounds, federal laws and such. Whatever]. the campground is very similar to what you would find in a CA State park, except that there are full hookups at every site. Most of the sites are rather small, but did have enough room for our 31' Trailer, tow truck and one other vehicle. They were narrow, so barely fit the width of the trailer with slide out, and our large carpet in front of the steps. It did fit, but barely. NO WOOD FIRES EVER. Propane fire pits, and charcoal in the provided stand up grill. There was a picnic table, but three of us got splinters in our butts from sliding a little sideways as they are old and rickety. The asphalt roads inside the camping areas are in desperate need of repairs. Lots of pot holes and rough edges. They have great amenities, but all are in need of maintenance. The putt putt golf was pretty worn out. A few nice playgrounds for the kids. I'm kind of in the middle on this one, thus the 3 stars. I'd go back. I'd pay about $25-35 a night for a campsite like this, maybe up to $50 due to hook ups. We did NOT buy a membership. It would be nice to be able to buy a one year membership so that you could try it out and then decide if it's for you. IMHO it's worth the 1.5 hrs to sit with the very pleasant representatives and learn about the campgrounds they operate and their associated campgrounds. For us, it would not be worth the down payment and annual fees. Thus, we had to say no. read more

They do not answer their phone ever or return calls! My husband cancelled a trial period with them in 2019 and the heavy set dude(he doesn't remember his name) told him he was all set. Now here we are 4+ years later fighting with the credit bureau because they put something on his credit report saying he never paid or cancelled. Unreal! Absolutely ridiculous lack of communication and customer service!!!!! We are going to continue this until the charges are removed and will continue to inform others of what a joke you are to customers! read more

We received a 'come try us' visit after buying a travel trailer. Did a little research on what we pay camping before we went to hear the pitch so we could be informed and say no. Well, after hearing the pitch, seeing the grounds and all the benefits we were sold. Cynthia Darbey was awesome and so low pressure and fun. We were already going to Bullhead City the weekend after the purchase and we are staying at the Ridgeview Resort this weekend in a cottage (towing something home and didn't bring trailer). It is so nice here! We will definitely be booking cottages when we can't or don't have the trailer. I know this is not a choice for everyone but i'd anyone even anyone remotely interesting to give it a chance. I know we will be having many more adventures to come and just can't wait!!!
