My wisdom teeth finally needed to be removed. One of them was causing me a lot of pain. I called many different places and some of them were just going to use laughing gas or couldn't give me an estimated cost with insurance. It felt very sketchy and not genuine. The previous offices I called were booked out until Monday or Tuesday for a consultation and the actual surgery wouldn't be for another week or two. I finally called Alpine Surgical Arts and I spoke with a receptionist named Shannon I believe. We had a conversation on Wednesday morning and she immediately worked to get me scheduled for a consultation and surgery for Friday (today). I had an X-Ray done and confirmed the pricing, signed some forms electronically which was super easy/fast. Spoke with Dr. Viehweg who was extremely kind and knowledgeable. (He reminded me of Mark Sloan from Grey's Anatomy). When I got back to start the procedure, Shannon actually came in to introduce herself and check in on me. That was such a thoughtful and kind thing to do. She is an absolute gem. As well as they had a wonderful team of people who worked very hard to ease my anxiety and make sure I was comfortable. I remember even before the laughing gas I was already smiling and feeling happy. They made me feel safe. Which is very important to me as someone with an anxiety disordered and complex PTSD. They gave me laughing gas to calm any nerves I might have had before inserting the IV sedation. After the procedure they helped me calm down. I was feeling emotional and overwhelmed which seems to be normal considering it's a lot what your body is going through!! After I woke up enough and calmed down. They helped wheel me to my boyfriend's car to make sure I got in safe and directed us to the pharmacy nearby where we could pick up the medicine they sent in. When I got home I was in a good amount of pain but took the medicine I was prescribed, gargled salt water, ate some icecream and worked to stay hydrated. Now I'm laying on the couch feeling kinda sore in my mouth but not really too much pain. Overall, I'm surprised they don't have more reviews. This place is amazing!! Such a great team of people who are professional, kind and have great knowledge in wisdom teeth removal. The pricing with my insurance wasn't bad either. Not to mention Dr. Viehweg just sent me a personal text to check in and see how I'm doing. Very kind of thoughtful!! HIGHLY recommend them!! We highly recommend Alpine surgical Arts and the skills of Dr. Viehweg. Our son had to have orthognathic surgery to align his upper and lower jaws in order to complete an orthodontic alignment. Dr. Viehweg did a great job of explaining the issues, options, and requirements for this procedure. We consulted with other surgeons as well, but Dr. Viehweg was by far the most thorough in his approach, which made us feel comfortable using his services. Also, the staff was really helpful as we tried to convince the insurance companies to cover this procedure. They wrote letters and legal forms and sent them for us. When the all the insurance companies refused us, Alpine gave us some options that allowed us to save considerable money, since we had to pay for it ourselves. Alpine Surgical Arts was recommend to me by my dentist. I had lost a crown and needed what was left under it removed. The phone staff wasn't overly friendly and I was told to come to my visit fasting in case I needed to be put to sleep. I didn't want to be put to sleep so was told I needed to have a consult first to see if that was an option. At the consult, Dr Viehwig seemed very personable and friendly. I was assured that I would be made comfortable as I was very nervous. He said I could start by not being put to sleep but it was ultimately his choice depending on how it went. This left me feeling apprehensive because I could not afford to be put to sleep as my insurance doesn't pay for ANY anesthesia. The day of my appointment I thought maybe I would try without nitrous (his office charged $75 for it and my regular dentist charges $20) but was discouraged by the office staff. I now know why. Dr Viehwig came in after I was on nitrous and put in the local, he was not gentle at all. I was very aware of everything going on and felt the numerous injections. As he started to extract the tooth, I also felt that and he could tell and added more local. He had asked me at the consult if I had previous surgeries and if I had any problems with the anesthesia. I told him it takes more for me and he wrote notes on a sticky note. His back office staff was very nice and thorough when giving me after surgery instructions. I felt he was competent, but just not the personable, gentle care I was looking for. I probably wouldn't take my kids there. I never received a post surgery call like others have said, even when I had to contact him during the weekend with questions. read more

Alpine Surgical Arts is wonderful. Although they are probably known for their dental, they do offer other services. I go every 4-6 months for Botox. The results are always great, not to mention they have the best price per unit anywhere. The office is gorgeous and Dr. Viehweg is the best. His staff is amazing as well. Shannon is always so friendly and helpful. She remembers who I am everytime I walk in and I am greeted immediately by name. The South Salt Lake/Utah County area is so fortunate to have someone of Dr. Viehweg's high caliber of talent so centrally located right here in Utah County. I had a unique problem with reconstruction of bone and the need of an implant. Dr. Viehweg was able to take care of both issues for me. I had lost bone mass in my upper jaw and didn't have enough bone to place my needed implants. Dr. Viehweg was able to correct the problem by taking bone from my skull and used it to replace the lost bone in my jaw. WOW! I know right? All this done by one man, in his office, with his incredible talented surgical staff. All billing issues were worked out by his efficient office manager, Shannon. I recommend Alpine Surgical Arts to all my family, friends, neighbors and anyone that asks me about a need for any surgery on the face.
