The three of us just went in for drinks. Except for one of us one of us doesn't have alcohol. I asked if they had a strawberry shake and they did not but I suddenly thought maybe if I asked for a root beer float. I think it was the best root beer float I've ever had in my life. The waitress was extremely kind fun and bubbly. The bill wasn't bad either for two martinis, two beers and a root beer float that had more ice cream than root beer so I had an extra cup of root beer. The atmosphere was totally chill because by the time we left, they were closing. I'll bet their menu has some excellent tasting food and that it served with a smile. The food was definitely just thrown together with what the kitchen had in stock. We ordered a Ruben and it was only grilled on one side and it looked like a lunch sandwich. The portions were very small. The pork sandwich was supposed to come with coleslaw and it didn't, and the pork it was BURNT on the bottom! Asked for a replacement in pork sandwich... On a Saturday after a snow showing adventure we went the Alpine tavern for lunch. The place is cute, very en pointe for the area. I had the soup and half sandwich (white chicken chili and brisket grilled cheese). The soup was really tasty, not super hot, but tasty, the sandwich was good but very rich, half was plenty. My husband had the smothered brisket dip with Swiss and he thought it was great. Lots of meat and cheese. He also would recommend the baked beans. Our service was great and attentive. The down side was the draftiness of the place - just could not get warm. As we left we noticed the other half of the restaurant was definitely warmer. So be aware. read more

I love the atmosphere, the lovely young ladies schlepping beer, pizza and the occasional shot from that crazy man behind the bar that tends to put too much hootch in the drinks. The prices are within the high norm and the location is perfect for us. Their pizza is fair. If you like it salty, add Kalamata olives. We won't. A most excellent topping is carved beef brisket. A must try. Our favorite appetizer is the Teriyaki Steak Tips. For $14 they've sautéed beef tips with portabellas and onions in a teriyaki glaze and served it with an Italian baguette. We've ordered from this establish several times recently. The cod dinner would have been pretty good except the expedite person put the butter pats for the baked potato in with the hot fish so what we received was a pile of buttery soggy fish with soaked breading sitting in the bottom of the container. Tonight, the firecracker burger was made with either a stale roll or a really weird corn meal roll that was dry and essentially crumbled completely with the first bite. The chicken planks consisted of 3 chicken breast halves, one of which was burnt to a crisp and hidden under the two "less burnt" pieces. The side was onion rings, some of which were tasty, and some of which were filled with bread crumbs that had never been incorporated into or covered with the batter. Each time we bit into an onion ring, a half tablespoon of crumbs would go flying across the table and you'd end up with a mouth full of sand. read more

Upon entry we were told we would have to wait 20 minutes but asking for seats at the bar we got through immediately, I ordered a Mocktail: The Cardinal Punch, Alpine Relaxer which I had with my Pau Haus Burger well done. The drinks were great, definitely recommend the Alpine Relaxer if looking for something vibrant and refreshing with a tad sour taste. The Bartender was very pleasant towards us and served us well. The Pub Haus Burger was nice very cheese and the bacons were the cherry on top for me, I enjoyed it all even though i waited almost 20 mins to receive my order but i was worth it. I have been to this restaurant many times, and I never leave disappointed. There pretzel appetizer is fantastic with a little bit of horseradish in the cheese sauce, which is very unique. I love their hummus plate, they have fantastic pizzas, and this last time I was blown away by the whitefish. we came on Valentine's day with my husband and two children . when I placed my order, I very specifically requested very easy on the onion ... when we finally received our order , I had heavy onion on my sandwich. when I was finally able to flag down our waitress and let her know about the situation, my family was already halfway done with their plates. when my remade sandwich finally came back out , my family was pretty much finished with their dinner. my second sandwich was very poorly put together , with all the meat towards the one side and in the middle and the portion of the chips were much much smaller than the first plate . I then asked for a box and a manger. when I expressed my concern and asked for a small discount for the inconvenience and fact that I would be eating my sandwich to go so as to not have to make my children sit any longer and watch me eat while they had already finished theirs. the manager said she would not be able to make it right in any other way than what was already done ( replacing the messed up sandwich) my Valentine's day dinner was very disappointing to say the least. this was our first time coming here and I'm very unhappy with the way the management handled their mistake. read more

I'm pretty fond of the Alpine tavern and eatery. I've been there three or four times and every meal has been decent. The place has an "ok" atmosphere, but I do think they could do a little more to give it that "up north" Lodge ambience that I feel like they're trying to embrace They have a nice patio area for outdoor seating, which is not always easy to find. I can't really speak to the service ever being great but I also can't say that I can think of a bad experience either. If I had to describe it at all, I would say it's just a little bit slow.
