I also really liked my friend's tart cherry one. We each got sandwiches and split the Michigan salad - everything was so fresh and delicious. I love the shaved brussels sprouts in the salad, they make homemade dressings, and the Rachel sandwich was just so good. Everything you want in a sandwich. Stopped here on our way to Boyne for lunch. They had a good selection of beers that my friends enjoyed, and some pop for me. The food was good, the quantity was on the medium side. I had the adult grilled cheese with all the spice. It was pretty food, very spicy grilled cheese, but nothing too out of this world. I'd eat it again, my old comment would be More! I felt that the cheese to bread ratio was more in favor of the bread, where a REALLY good grilled cheese has a more even or cheese favored ratio. Our server was very nice. She answered all our questions and always made sure our cups were full. For lunch time service I was very pleased. The ambiance is one of a brewery. They have some interesting art all around the establishment, which was nice. The one thing I'll say, being on the larger side, the chairs were not wide enough for me to sit comfortably and the seat part was slippery. I should have known from the filthy hall and overflowing toilet in the men's room that the lunch experience was going to suck, boy did it. Waiter immediately began listing all the items the kitchen was out of after letting us pick our table. We popped in for lunch on our way through to Petoskey. We had been here a couple years ago, not the same anymore. Table next to us left shortly after ordering drinks, they were more unimpressed then us. But we powered through the slow service, dive food, dirty dinning room, plastic cups, miss matched plastic ware. Dear everyone, Our experience two months ago was superb. We went there for lunch and sat down at approximately 1215. Randal, our waiter, showed up 15 minutes later. We ordered beer and an appetizer. Beer took 25 minutes. Had to ask for our app, Randal replies that "o yeah that is about ready". Nachos came out 15 minutes later...COLD! Another hour went by without our actual food. We inquired about our food and again Randal replied "it's on its way out". 20 minutes later I asked if it was about out. Randal, sweet Randal, replies "o they have one of your 6 orders ready". New flash, I could see the kitchen and they didn't. We then paid for drinks and left. Completely unsat, especially when tables surrounding us had received food, ate said food, and left. Lunch in an ice shanty - ok! After our rafting trip we decided to check this place out. Kinda of tight squeeze for 4 adults and 5 kids, but we made it work. Bonus that kids eat free on Sunday, but the kids menu isn't very big. My son didn't find anything he liked, so he ordered the pretzels appetizer. My daughter ordered the Mac & Cheese and loved it! The other kids ordered pizza, which they said was just ok. The adults all loved their food, but were unhappy that a lot of the beers and ciders were out. Luckily we all found something we liked.
