Got charged 181 dollars for a 2 mile tow. No wonder why the owner has a brand new fancy car- they DRAIN you of your money!!!

from the beginning to the end, this was the worst experience ever with having a car repaired. But…read morecustomer service was the worst from the beginning to the end. The estimated time for the repairs was 30 to 45 days, that ended up being 90 days. I had to keep calling to get updates on when the vehicle would be finished. I would get updates sent to me via text message literally on the day. I was supposed to pick up the vehicle which was a major inconvenience. Talking to the staff trying to find out when the vehicle would be ready for pick up was disastrous as well. The customer service was horrible. And then to add insult to injury, they misplaced my registration to the vehicle and blamed it on me. I do not recommend this business to anyone needing a car repaired nor will I ever return to get my car repaired unless something that they fixed to malfunction and it's under warranty.

Had to take a car to Big K's Towing Service & Body Shop Inc. to get a body work done after my car…read morewas hit by someone. Nationwide Insurance paid to get the work done. After picking up the car and inspecting it the work was so far below acceptable standards. Overspray was left behind on the entire car! Texture in the paint, numerous fisheyes in the paint where they had to blend the paint in the door! Did not even manage to blend the hood to match the new paint! Changed the wrong wheel that was to be replaced! Oh and let me not forget that you change a headlight assembly and fail to put in the aftermarket bulbs that were in the old headlight assembly. You changed the high beam bulb but leave the low beam that came in the new assembly in place! The rear cargo hatch/door that we paid out of pocket to have fixed, you can still feel the indentation from the dent that they were paid to fix and smooth out. After taking the car back to get them to fix the issues that were identified from the work that was performed they still managed to to not only half ass the work! Texture paint still showing above and below the body side trim molding! Paint still rough over entire car from overspray not being removed properly and time taken to fix the car RIGHT! On top of all of this, Kevin Abshire owner at Big K's does not have time to speak to customers let alone pick up the phone and return calls to customers. Instead refers everyone to speak to his wife Micelle Abshire to deal with issues. As a painter and owner of this business you would think they would want to speak to customers and make everything right instead let's do the quality of work that makes MACCO look like a premium/premier paint professional company compared to the crap job this place does! If you need body work done DO NOT use this business!

First, we are grandparents and meet everyone with respect…read more Had insurance work done on my 2013 truck thru Geico, who has a reputation for paying top dollar for quality work. The 5-day estimate turned into 17 days, and when pressed for a reason, the office manager became both belligerent and rude. She had already left a sour taste with me after our first meeting, having struck me as a natural bully with a mean streak. First impressions do matter. She behaved as if we actually had a choice; Some kid hit my newish truck, Geico chose the body shop, and we just wanted the shop to honor the deal. When we finally brought the truck home, I noticed wires hanging under the front end, and when I went to tuck them up, I found the whole front clip was missing bolts and wobbling around. The trim pieces were also floppy. Shoddy is the key word for the workmanship. The paint looked nice, and the touch-up across the hood is cleanly done, hence the second star. As far as trusting them to perform professionally, that starts with the clerk who processes the forms (in this case, the office manager) and ends with the techs who make the final assembly, and on these two vital counts, Porterfield's failed miserably. I can not in good conscience recommend them to anyone.

What should have been a 4 day job turned into a 4 week job. Excuses were numerous: 1) We just had…read moretwo people quit and we don't know how to deal with insurance 2) we're waiting on the insurance company 3) we're waiting for parts 4) we forgot to order tint. Promised the car 3 different times and then didn't deliver. The work is fine, no problems. They just aren't set up to stay on top of the process. They tell you to bring the car so they know they're making money, but no one can be bothered to stay on top of the process (order parts, deal with insurance, follow up on both) and get your car back to you in a reasonable amount of time. If you are doing a cash job they would probably be fine. If you are looking for a shop to help with your insurance claim do yourself a favor and keep looking.
