I was on my way to a distillery nearby and had not eaten anything all day. So I needed something -- something so I wouldn't be working an event on an empty stomach. I stumbled across this spot on the map, saw I'd be driving right by it, so gave them a call in advance to order some lengua tacos. The order was 4 for $17, not bad! Once I got to the distillery, I opened my food and WHEW they were beautiful. I told you I was hungry, so I didn't get a pic (sorry) -- but they were beautiful! Loved the flavor of the tacos, even without the red and green sauces. The tortillas were the perfect texture, and I got the energy I needed for a successful evening. It's good to know that this truck is an option if I ever want food at the distillery since they don't have their own (yet).

I ordered the hot honey old bay wings with mac and cheese and fries and I also got banana pudding. In total I spent about $29. It was FREEZING this day and they were so kind to bring my food to me in my car. The food smelled heavenly and I ate everything in my car and wow it was so so good. The wings were so good it didn't need any sauce or condiment and they were the perfect size. I waited until I got home to try the banana pudding and it didn't even stand a chance against my sweet tooth and all I have is an empty container to show for it. Delicious. I decided to use my insulated bag and wait until I got to my friend's house to eat. I love the shrimp and the salmon. They were seasoned well, but not to a point of tasting too salty, which can happen at a lot of soul food restaurants for me. Unfortunately, despite the good flavor, this was the case with the collard greens, whew. Also, there is turkey in there, so don't get it as a vegetarian option! The mac and cheese was good... Not sure where I would put it in my rankings, but I enjoyed it. That banana pudding.... Whoa. It was the perfect dessert, and I would happily get it again. The salted caramel and banana balance surprisingly well. Their top rankings are well deserved, and I am looking forward to trying their wings and other items next time!

The "feast mode" size was actually challenging for three people to finish! The "hive sauce" tastes like a honey mustard with maybe mayo? It's pretty good. I really wish Flavor Hive would have additional toppings - just cucumber tomato onion cilantro etc are quite minimal. Would be awesome if they could add something like beet salad or beans! The value at this place is excellent compared to the numerous other rice / slop bowl places in the area. It is a lot of food. Only one order (check #88) was provided at pickup. The second order (check #87) was never given to us, despite being paid for. When I called the phone number listed on both the paid receipt and from Google, I did not reach the restaurant. Instead, the call was answered by a male individual phone comes up from Vienna and did not appear to be affiliated with the restaurant staff on-site. This alone is unacceptable. The individual who answered was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. Multiple witnesses overheard the conversation, which has been documented. We were not initially seeking a refund -- only verification of the missing order and whether it could still be picked up. There was zero effort to assist, no accountability, and no urgency to resolve the issue. This level of disorganization and lack of customer service is unacceptable for any restaurant. If Flavor Hive continues to operate this way -- including routing customer calls to unprofessional third parties -- it will absolutely damage the business and its reputation.
