Smash Akhs is a very good smash burger experience from a food truck. One of the best smash burgers in the region. The burgers are always fresh, hot, juicy, and made to order. I appreciate the packaging and presentation of their burgers which is always professional consistent. The Bacon Double (beef bacon) is excellent accompanied by the Akh Sauce. The Cajun Fries are delicious, however, the cook is too inconsistent. At times, the fries are over fried. Crinkle cut fries are unforgiving, so even a few extra seconds in the fryer and you're dealing with more crunch than crisp. For the price and that reason, I simply stay away from the fries. The flavor is excellent, but the execution is too much of a risk. The milkshakes are also delicious, however, these aren't your conventional ice cream shakes. They are more on the creamy and airy side. I've tried a few and although delicious, the ingredient ratios seem off and the creamy texture and whipped cream leans too close to a frothy mix. The mocktail mojitos are delicious and refreshing. The customer service is OK. RECOMMENDATION: Order ahead at least 20 minutes in advance and especially on Fridays and Saturdays when they are busier. There were times when they were understaffed and ordering in-person was over a 40 minutes wait. read more

Hot, fresh and friendly staff - I can't think of a better combo! We've driven by this truck many times and decided to stop by this evening. We were greeted almost immediately, placed our order and were given an estimate of 15 minutes. We decided to wait in the car because it's a bit chilly this evening but at just about 14 minutes our food was ready! It's rare you find a food truck that provides a proper wait estimate. This is a Smash Burger food truck in the parking lot next to the Glendale Fire Station. They have a self-kiosk outside of truck where you place your order and then pay with your phone or card. If you have cash, you just have to let them know at the window. It takes about 10-15mins for them to make your order. On this visit I had the single patty, with some extra "akh sauce" and It was very good. But if you're hungry, don't cheat yourself! Go ahead and get that double patty! I will definitely be doing that next time. In addition to the burger, I also tried their Oreo milkshake - which was decent and compliments the burger, but It wasn't my favorite. This may be my first food truck review. While I am no connoisseur of food truck fare, I do not scoff at them. My son loves Smash Akhs for their smashed burgers. I do not eat meat, so I take him at his word that they are fantastic (he compares them favorably to his go to Five Guys taste wise). This review is to big up the fries! Five star fries, if you love crinkle cut. The fries are cook perfectly with a crispy outside and fluffy potato goodness on the inside. The pedestrian French fry done amazingly well. Always piping hot and served in the best vessel ever invented for fries. The container is a long rectangle similar in length to the long cut fries. It has a cover that is not tight but securely fastened the box close. There are air holes that ensure the fries stay hot and crispy at the same time. So the fries are never compacted nor do you get fragmented fry crumbs. Each batch has perfectly sized almost uniform center cut fries!! They are salted just right. What puts them over the top is the Ahk sauce. It is 85¢ but get two to dip your fries. The sauce tastes like a perfect mix of mayo, honey mustard, and a tangy barbecue sauce. It is great on fries and I use it to make tuna fish salad and on fish burgers. The service is great too. They are always parked next to Glenn Dale Fire House and you can order online. There is also a kiosk outside the truck for ordering. The thing that usually keeps me away from food trucks is the cleanliness or lack there of. At the Smash Akhs truck my fears are alleviated because the food truck seems to be kept cert clean. The floors look shiny (stainless steel or aluminum), and the overall truck appears neat and in order. The area is outside a clean firehouse on a safe well traveled main road. There is plenty of parking too. The burgers are about 10 bucks give or take depending on the number of patties and toppings like bacon. The fries are under five dollars, which is a steal, considering how good they are. I just wish they gave you more. Five Guys spoiled the game with giving so many fries. The fry order here is probably the proper serving amount but will leave you wishing for a few more fries. Nonetheless, five stars for the fries alone. In my carnivore son's opinion, five stars for the burgers. I wish they added a fish or veggie burger but the fries will have me returning regardless. read more

Cheeseburger was the best one I have EVER TASTED! PERIOD!!!!! It was filled some onions and packed with flavor and super juicy. Plus the bun was a soft potato bread. The crinkle fries were typical...nothing extraordinary. It's a food truck by the fire station so no real ambiance except that it looked very clean, and the service was decent. I only waited about 15 minutes (in my car). It's really popular because there were a lot of people there ordering and waiting for their food. That speaks to the quality (top-tier). read more

The truck is still going strong!! Do note that there are some days when they are not in this location, so make sure to track them on their site or social media. I kept my word and returned for the cookie butter milkshake and it blew my mind, MY GOSH! I had gotten it specifically for home to sip during a meeting, and it didn't make it during the 10 minute car ride -- it was that good. Smash Akhs also added benches with umbrellas outside, so there is a little less pressure to take your things to go -- at least while the weather is still nice. I can't wait to explore the other milkshakes and the mocktails. I think I'll be adventurous enough to grab a double burger next time too! read more

Probably one of the best smash burgers I've had in the DMV. It's a food truck, so I had to wait about 20 minutes for my food. My favorite thing is...they offer beef bacon for their bacon burgers (I don't eat pork)! So I was able to get the double smash bacon burger. It was delicious. This burger was so good. I ordered a bacon cheese burger and shared some fries. Everything was 10/10. I will need to go back for a biscoff shake when my pants aren't so tight. I ordered and picked up my food at the truck in front of the Glendale fire dept. There is a picnic table where you can eat your food there and plenty of parking. You order via a kiosk in front of the truck and I love that. Plenty of pricing transparency and easy to just place your order.
