Most of this operation appears to be take-out. We placed a pickup order online and it was waiting for us by the time we showed up. We ordered two small chicken bowls and one "feast mode". The "feast mode" size was actually challenging for three people to finish! The "hive sauce" tastes like a honey mustard with maybe mayo? It's pretty good. I really wish Flavor Hive would have additional toppings - just cucumber tomato onion cilantro etc are quite minimal. Would be awesome if they could add something like beet salad or beans! The value at this place is excellent compared to the numerous other rice / slop bowl places in the area. It is a lot of food. This review is for the Alexandria location of Flavor Hive off of General Washington Dr. On 1/28/26, after 8:00 PM, we placed two separate orders. Only one order (check #88) was provided at pickup. The second order (check #87) was never given to us, despite being paid for. When I called the phone number listed on both the paid receipt and from Google, I did not reach the restaurant. Instead, the call was answered by a male individual phone comes up from Vienna and did not appear to be affiliated with the restaurant staff on-site. This alone is unacceptable. The individual who answered was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. Multiple witnesses overheard the conversation, which has been documented. We were not initially seeking a refund -- only verification of the missing order and whether it could still be picked up. There was zero effort to assist, no accountability, and no urgency to resolve the issue. This level of disorganization and lack of customer service is unacceptable for any restaurant. If Flavor Hive continues to operate this way -- including routing customer calls to unprofessional third parties -- it will absolutely damage the business and its reputation. read more

Loved this place and it was a Flavor Bomb. The staff is extremely helpful and it's a chipotle with much better flavor. My son loved it and enjoyed the chicken and rice bowl. This is a restaurant that is pick up only. It's set up chipotle style so you choose what you want and then you take your food to go. The service was really fantastic. Everyone was really kind and nice. The place is still brand new so there isn't even a sign out front yet, but you'll find the place by going to the door with the flavor hive mat on the floor. I got the rice bowl and the flavor was really great, but the food was cold. I also got the fries which were also cold and tasted stale. The bowl cost was $20. The fries were $6. One thing I will say is that the bowl portion was very generous. The fries did seem too expensive for the portion size. If you visit now, I think that's OK but just keep in mind that the location is new so you'll need to give some extra grace and patience. But even though I didn't have an amazing food experience, I actually think that the service really did shine enough to outweigh that part. read more

Fresh, delicious Halal Cart style bowls! Flavor Hive has been on my radar for ages and I finally had the chance to try it! The owners are Bangladeshi and Egyptian- I could definitely taste the amazing flavors from these cuisines influence the bowls! I got a mix of chicken and lamb gyro- I liked the gyro better, but the chicken was good too just less flavor than I anticipated. The salad fixings were tasty and fresh. The white sauce and spicy green sauce were delicious! The rice had a good South Asian tasting flavor as well. Very well done and it was quick to receive my food despite crowds. Ambiance is chill, it's near the McDonald's, but in an empty parking lot with ample spaces. I'd come again! I wanted their Date Chai, but they ran out! I heard about Flavor Hive and wanted to give them a shot. Not really my cup of tea but I decided to go anyway. Customer service is great. They do a wonderful job of limiting the lines. There are several stations where you can take your order as well as people walking around. They are good with suggestions and things run pretty smoothly. I personally ordered the chicken quesadilla while my kids both ordered Doritos Bags. I grabbed my wife the loaded fries. The bang for your buck is insane. They really pour on the food. I have no clue how people can eat a large bag in one sitting. They have to be taking half home. The food comes out piping hot. The chicken quesadilla was hot. You can taste the peppers and chicken. I'm not a peppers guy but wanted to give them a shot anyway. Without the peppers I probably would have LOVED it. Overall it was a cool experience. Perfect location right off the highway. Well lit and easy to get to. Service was quick and friendly. Food came out pretty fast. Everything was nice and hot. I thought I was hungry but the serving was definitely more than I could handle alone. I only ate about half but I was completely satisfied and full. I didn't get to take my own chips as this was a spare of the moment stop after coming from a show. However, I will be going back with my bag in the next few weeks! We bought a bag of sweet plantain chips from the nearby Trader Joe's and ordered the chicken walking meal. The last time I came here, it was busy. They told me the food would be ready in 10-15 minutes. 25 minutes later, I came up to the cashier/cook for an update and they said soon. Went up again 10 minutes later because I still haven't received my food, got the same response. After about 45 minutes, that's when my name was called to pick up the food. With the majority of the people around the area raving about this place on social media, I had to check it out for myself too! The Food: I got he option to fill you own bag. But for me, I think having chips with all of the choices they offer is a bit much, so I opted to bring a salad bowl and have them fill that with my protein and toppings of choice. The protein was very flavorful! The meats were cooked pretty well and all the other toppings and sauces paired very well together. For around $15, it's less food than the chip bag but they stuff each pita and it was delicious. The spicy sauce is also no joke. I really liked the concept considering the great value. I saw people bringing large chips bag and pizza. I would recommend maybe taking your chips out and putting it in a container. Then asking the server to put the food on 1 side just so you don't find yourself rummaging through your chip bag. Flavor Hive has been going viral on social media and they recently came up to Maryland for a special one-night event, so we bundled up the baby and got ready for what was sure to be a long line. Friends, we somehow still underestimated how long the line would be. They have been famous for doing a halal bowl in any bag of chips you bring to them, with their viral videos showing folks bringing snack sized chips and full sized chips and boxes of salad and even more out-there things like boxes of donuts...??? I brought a regular (full size not snack size) bag of jalapeno kettle chips to share with my partner and our friend got salad green boxes so we got one of those as well. The line was looong and there were 2 which confused a lot of folks. I think our line was for the bag of chips special and maybe bowls, whereas the other line was just the standard menu but no to the bags of chips? We waited almost an hour and a half, shoutout to all the babies and toddlers who were in the line in the cold totally confused. There was a decent delay for our line, and the other line didn't seem to move much faster, but things were moving relatively well when I got to the front so I wonder if they were restocking or something while I was waiting. Because the line is so huge, I'll be real with you, if you are not prepared by the time you get to the front, you will be facing some pretty brusque folks who don't want you to hold up the line. A guy was taking orders down the line so that there was no delay in ordering with the guys cooking, with you getting to tell them the options with sauces, toppings, etc. However, they were very kind to us and the girl in front of us who wanted no meat (!) in her bag. I also wasn't really sure how the pricing worked. In their videos, they say it's $10 to get any size bag of chips made into a walking bowl, and their website I think indicated it's $14 for the combo meat (chicken + beef + gyro) but we were charged $17 for each chips bag. For how much food we got -- that bag of chips gets HEFTY -- this seemed fair, but I can understand folks being a bit confused if they came for the $10 deal they saw on Tiktok. Was it delicious? YEAH yeah it was pretty delicious actually. What a dangerous way to just eat an entire bag of chips as a meal hahaha There is a lot of delicious flavor packed in, and even as leftovers (there was no way we would be able to finish with how generously they scooped in the food) it was really really delicious. Let me warn you now, that sauce is seriously hot. If spice isn't your thing, ask for just a little. A tiny bit. Trust me. That second visit changed everything. Now I see what the hype is about. Since then, I've been back more times than I can count. The ground beef is easily the most flavorful thing on the menu. If you get the rice bowl, just tell them to go light on the rice because they will load it up and it can overpower the other flavors. They had a 10-taco special one day and the tacos were fire. I'm not sure what they use for the shells, but they were packed with flavor just like the beef. My personal go-to is bringing my own salad or lettuce and loading it up with ground beef, cheese, tomato, onion, spicy sauce, and white sauce. Every bite is worth it. Saturday 12/14/2024 I heard about this spot a few months ago on TikTok and as of recently one of my follows have been urging me to go here since they have made stops in the Gaithersburg, MD area which is near me. After thinking about it, I finally decided to just go but I did not know what I was getting myself into. My experience to wait and get the food was awful: I was outside in the freezing cold for nearly 2.5 hours (from 9:17 pm - 11:30 pm), if only I knew it would've been like this then I would've stayed home. They were also very unprepared for the massive turnout as they had to take a 30+ min pause to have a worker go all the way to VA to get more food. Also the line was very disorganized as many people were cutting so they definitely gotta work on that for future stops. By the time I got to order (11:25 pm), they only had beef, chicken, rice bowls, and loaded fries; everything else was sold out: gyro meat,quesadilla, pita pouch). I got a chicken over rice bowl $14, beef over rice bowl $17, and loaded fries with chicken $14. The food can best be broken down into pros and cons. Pros: - The food was good as the chicken, beef, and fries were very well seasoned. Cons: - the big portions that they advertised on social media were significantly smaller than what you get in person. - The fries had a slight soggy and cold texture which is weird since I ate it as soon as I got it. - They also could've given me more of the sauce. - Also how do you have loaded fries without cheese is crazy to me. Overall, the experience of getting the food was NOT worth it in the slightest but the food was actually decent. If I didn't have to do deal with the terrible experience and falsely advertised portions than I would've given them a EASY 5 star. Heard a lot about this place and finally was able to try. I got the dal puri tacos, fries and cold date chai Here are my thoughts. Good: the fries were very delicious. Came hot and well seasoned. They give you a side of ranch that was homemade and packed with flavor (think wingstop ranch but better). The cold date chai drink was AMAZING! I love dates and chai so this was a home run for me. Should have ordered more to keep in my fridge for later since the food truck is a bit far from me. The dal puri bread was quite good. Would order a few of those by themselves on the side. Bad: Meat was extremely bland. I thought maybe the first taco was just missing flavor but no all of them, the meat was bland. I tried the meat by itself and took off all the toppings and it was still bland. Kind makes sense why they put so much toppings on their food to mask the lack of flavor in the meat. I also thought this place was a bit expensive for what you get. $15 for 3 tacos is pretty standard for DC. But since they do the bring your own bag of chips, maybe I would have been better off getting that since it's cheaper. Overall not a bad spot there are some hits and misses. Standing in the cold, bonding with fellow food lovers while waiting for my order, was all part of the experience -- and totally worth it. Great food always brings people together, right? We heard about this place from Tik tok and had to try it out! You can bring a bag of chips and they'll fill it but we decided to go for their classic rice bowl. There are 3 food trucks at the Alexandria location: 2 for food and 1 for ordering as well as a tent for utensils and extra. Service was extremely fast, which was surprising for the amount of people who were there. I got everything but the cilantro. The smell coming from the food was amazing and made me even more excited. I honestly wasn't disappointed. The gyro was very well seasoned and cooked as was the chicken. The white sauce is delicious but the spicy green sauce could have been slightly spicer and tastier. My friend and I stopped by the Flavor Hive Trucks on a Saturday afternoon, and there were so many people! All the staff were friendly and really hyped up their menu items, which adds to the excitement, I guess. They also do give quite a large portion (totally welcomed large portion)! I got the BYOB of whatever (salad, chips or whatever) with chicken, all the fixins, white sauce and the spicy sauce! That spicy sauce packs quite a punch; it was delicious! The chicken and the fixins were delicious; the whole meal was incredibly filling! We plan to come back and try the rice bowls! The lines can get very long, so I would mentally prepare for a little bit of a wait and exercise patience, especially if you're starving! Lol. They are located behind the building next to the McDonald's on the corner, in case you're not familiar! there's plenty of parking, but there's also plenty of people walking around! I went the for the first time a few months ago and got a bowl with beef and chicken. it was ok my favorite part about the bowl was the seasoned beef. the white sauce is bland the green sauce has a nice kick. I came again today, to get the chip bag deal for $10 but it's misleading. it's only $10 for chicken or falafel. I waited in line for nearly 30 minutes and I got to the front and attempted to order the beef chip bag. Just for the cashier to say they don't have beef anymore lol I was so annoyed and hungry I settled for chicken. the chicken was SO bland it was just a complete waste of time and money.
