the General Washington Dr location of Flavor Hive is now an actual store unit and not just a truck. There is no inside seating, and there are a few outdoor tables. Most of this operation appears to be take-out. We placed a pickup order online and it was waiting for us by the time we showed up. We ordered two small chicken bowls and one "feast mode". The "feast mode" size was actually challenging for three people to finish! The "hive sauce" tastes like a honey mustard with maybe mayo? It's pretty good. I really wish Flavor Hive would have additional toppings - just cucumber tomato onion cilantro etc are quite minimal. Would be awesome if they could add something like beet salad or beans! I found this place after seeing it a boatload of times on TikTok. This place sells Haalal like many places in NoVA yet what makes it stand out is the Egyptian-Mexican fusion of their food. In particular their build your own walking tacos where you bring a bag of chips and they fill it with a cup oife of protein and toppings starting at $12. I usually keep it simple -- ground beef, white sauce, cheese, cilantro with Doritos as the base. Smacks every single time. Though I had their loaded fries once and they were tasty as well. This is a restaurant that is pick up only. It's set up chipotle style so you choose what you want and then you take your food to go. The service was really fantastic. Everyone was really kind and nice. The place is still brand new so there isn't even a sign out front yet, but you'll find the place by going to the door with the flavor hive mat on the floor. I got the rice bowl and the flavor was really great, but the food was cold. I also got the fries which were also cold and tasted stale. The bowl cost was $20. The fries were $6. One thing I will say is that the bowl portion was very generous. The fries did seem too expensive for the portion size. If you visit now, I think that's OK but just keep in mind that the location is new so you'll need to give some extra grace and patience. But even though I didn't have an amazing food experience, I actually think that the service really did shine enough to outweigh that part. read more

Fresh, delicious Halal Cart style bowls! Flavor Hive has been on my radar for ages and I finally had the chance to try it! The owners are Bangladeshi and Egyptian- I could definitely taste the amazing flavors from these cuisines influence the bowls! I got a mix of chicken and lamb gyro- I liked the gyro better, but the chicken was good too just less flavor than I anticipated. The salad fixings were tasty and fresh. The white sauce and spicy green sauce were delicious! The rice had a good South Asian tasting flavor as well. Very well done and it was quick to receive my food despite crowds. Ambiance is chill, it's near the McDonald's, but in an empty parking lot with ample spaces. I'd come again! I wanted their Date Chai, but they ran out! Easy to find. Well lit area. The staff was kind and the lines moved fast. Food was really good. I would suggest eating in your car or brining a chair and sit outside your car to enjoy your food. Bring your favorite beverage. Get extra sauce. The sauce on top is not enough to last throughout the entire bag of chips. I heard about Flavor Hive and wanted to give them a shot. Not really my cup of tea but I decided to go anyway. Customer service is great. They do a wonderful job of limiting the lines. There are several stations where you can take your order as well as people walking around. They are good with suggestions and things run pretty smoothly. I personally ordered the chicken quesadilla while my kids both ordered Doritos Bags. I grabbed my wife the loaded fries. The bang for your buck is insane. They really pour on the food. I have no clue how people can eat a large bag in one sitting. They have to be taking half home. The food comes out piping hot. The chicken quesadilla was hot. You can taste the peppers and chicken. I'm not a peppers guy but wanted to give them a shot anyway. Without the peppers I probably would have LOVED it. Overall it was a cool experience. I wish there was someplace to sit down and eat beside my car or trunk but that's expected with a food truck. Perfect location right off the highway. Well lit and easy to get to. Service was quick and friendly. Food came out pretty fast. Everything was nice and hot. I thought I was hungry but the serving was definitely more than I could handle alone. I only ate about half but I was completely satisfied and full. I didn't get to take my own chips as this was a spare of the moment stop after coming from a show. However, I will be going back with my bag in the next few weeks! The Flavor Hive truck was in Rockville during the fall festival at the Town Square so my husband and I finally got a chance to try them! We bought a bag of sweet plantain chips from the nearby Trader Joe's and ordered the chicken walking meal. I have had Flavorhive on my must-try list since July 2024 before it went viral. However, every trip to the DMV area usually involved me popping in and out - so when I finally had a long weekend in the region - it was go time! Flavorhive offers rice bowls, quesadillas, pita pouches, loaded fries, and other items. I decided to grab the most popular option: a walking taco chip bag for $10. I stopped at the grocery store and purchased blue corn chips, which would make my nutritionist proud. At the Alexandria location, there were several trucks, and to better control the crowd flow - one truck was responsible for payments, and then you would go to the other trucks to fulfill your order. The walking taco offers various protein options: chicken, lamb gyro, ground beef, and falafel. I grabbed the lamb gyro with all the veggies - tomato, cucumber, cilantro - minus the onions. There are two sauce options - green (spicy) and white. Initially, I didn't want any sauce, but after sampling it - I had to pour the white sauce all over. Was the 6+ months wait worth the hype? Yes, of course--the creaminess of the tzatziki sauce paired so well with the tenderness of the lamb and veggies. I'm big on quality food and this was as fresh as it gets. You might have to wait 30 mins but it's worth it. The matcha soda was surprisingly good. A good combination of a sweet, earthy, carbonated drink. Sounds weird, but it works. A must try for all the matcha lovers out there. An excellent food truck experience at this Flavor Hive on Duke Street. The food is delicious and the customer service is always good. Their ordering system is very well thought out and efficient. The rice bowl is one of the best I've ever had among all cuisines. The business recommends not modifying the ingredients and flavor combinations to experience maximum flavor to which I agree. I have been here a few times and their food is decent. I feel like the food needs more sauce as it lacks some flavor. My 2 entrees should not have taken 45 minutes to make! The last time I came here, it was busy. They told me the food would be ready in 10-15 minutes. 25 minutes later, I came up to the cashier/cook for an update and they said soon. Went up again 10 minutes later because I still haven't received my food, got the same response. After about 45 minutes, that's when my name was called to pick up the food. With the majority of the people around the area raving about this place on social media, I had to check it out for myself too! The Food: I got he option to fill you own bag. But for me, I think having chips with all of the choices they offer is a bit much, so I opted to bring a salad bowl and have them fill that with my protein and toppings of choice. The protein was very flavorful! The meats were cooked pretty well and all the other toppings and sauces paired very well together. They are very generous with food too, so you will definitely get your fill. The Service: Service was pretty good here! Staff are friendly and attentive. This review is for the Alexandria location of Flavor Hive off of General Washington Dr. On 1/28/26, after 8:00 PM, we placed two separate orders. Only one order (check #88) was provided at pickup. The second order (check #87) was never given to us, despite being paid for. When I called the phone number listed on both the paid receipt and from Google, I did not reach the restaurant. Instead, the call was answered by a male individual phone comes up from Vienna and did not appear to be affiliated with the restaurant staff on-site. This alone is unacceptable. The individual who answered was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. Multiple witnesses overheard the conversation, which has been documented. We were not initially seeking a refund -- only verification of the missing order and whether it could still be picked up. There was zero effort to assist, no accountability, and no urgency to resolve the issue. This level of disorganization and lack of customer service is unacceptable for any restaurant. If Flavor Hive continues to operate this way -- including routing customer calls to unprofessional third parties -- it will absolutely damage the business and its reputation. read more

Really cool concept and the viral TikTok videos brought me here. My friends and I showed up on a cold brisky Saturday evening. The time it took to order and get our food took was around 20 minutes. We got over 3 large scoops of food over our chips for $11. The gyro meat and other toppings were fresh. We also ordered the krazy pouch with half beef and gyro meat. For around $15, it's less food than the chip bag but they stuff each pita and it was delicious. The spicy sauce is also no joke. I really liked the concept considering the great value. I saw people bringing large chips bag and pizza. I would recommend maybe taking your chips out and putting it in a container. Then asking the server to put the food on 1 side just so you don't find yourself rummaging through your chip bag. I honestly didn't have high expectations when I first heard about it but when we got to the parking lot it was packed and there was a long line. That's when I knew that it must be really good. People were lined up and there were three big food trucks. You can order on the kiosk or at the register. We got the rice bowl and it was a really big portion and I believe the price was not bad. Flavor Hive has been going viral on social media and they recently came up to Maryland for a special one-night event, so we bundled up the baby and got ready for what was sure to be a long line. Friends, we somehow still underestimated how long the line would be. They have been famous for doing a halal bowl in any bag of chips you bring to them, with their viral videos showing folks bringing snack sized chips and full sized chips and boxes of salad and even more out-there things like boxes of donuts...??? I brought a regular (full size not snack size) bag of jalapeno kettle chips to share with my partner and our friend got salad green boxes so we got one of those as well. The line was looong and there were 2 which confused a lot of folks. I think our line was for the bag of chips special and maybe bowls, whereas the other line was just the standard menu but no to the bags of chips? We waited almost an hour and a half, shoutout to all the babies and toddlers who were in the line in the cold totally confused. There was a decent delay for our line, and the other line didn't seem to move much faster, but things were moving relatively well when I got to the front so I wonder if they were restocking or something while I was waiting. Because the line is so huge, I'll be real with you, if you are not prepared by the time you get to the front, you will be facing some pretty brusque folks who don't want you to hold up the line. A guy was taking orders down the line so that there was no delay in ordering with the guys cooking, with you getting to tell them the options with sauces, toppings, etc. However, they were very kind to us and the girl in front of us who wanted no meat (!) in her bag. I also wasn't really sure how the pricing worked. In their videos, they say it's $10 to get any size bag of chips made into a walking bowl, and their website I think indicated it's $14 for the combo meat (chicken + beef + gyro) but we were charged $17 for each chips bag. For how much food we got -- that bag of chips gets HEFTY -- this seemed fair, but I can understand folks being a bit confused if they came for the $10 deal they saw on Tiktok. Was it delicious? YEAH yeah it was pretty delicious actually. What a dangerous way to just eat an entire bag of chips as a meal hahaha There is a lot of delicious flavor packed in, and even as leftovers (there was no way we would be able to finish with how generously they scooped in the food) it was really really delicious. I would happily get Flavor Hive again but I will NOT wait in a line like this again and I probably won't do the chips again for a while. Their regular offerings seem really tasty but the novelty of the chips deal is fun and worth trying out! read more

Everything from the second I stepped out of the car this was an experience! The main guy you see in all the videos greeted me with energy and had me excited for my order as it was my first time. I brought a bag of sun chips & added beef w/ extra meat, all veggies, added rice & cheese topped with both green and white sauces. When I tell you my taste buds were dancing it was so good!! Also it was so much food I ended up sharing it with like 6 of my friends. Amazing quality ingredients and great price points. Saturday 12/14/2024 I heard about this spot a few months ago on TikTok and as of recently one of my follows have been urging me to go here since they have made stops in the Gaithersburg, MD area which is near me. After thinking about it, I finally decided to just go but I did not know what I was getting myself into. My experience to wait and get the food was awful: I was outside in the freezing cold for nearly 2.5 hours (from 9:17 pm - 11:30 pm), if only I knew it would've been like this then I would've stayed home. They were also very unprepared for the massive turnout as they had to take a 30+ min pause to have a worker go all the way to VA to get more food. Also the line was very disorganized as many people were cutting so they definitely gotta work on that for future stops. By the time I got to order (11:25 pm), they only had beef, chicken, rice bowls, and loaded fries; everything else was sold out: gyro meat,quesadilla, pita pouch). I got a chicken over rice bowl $14, beef over rice bowl $17, and loaded fries with chicken $14. The food can best be broken down into pros and cons. Pros: - The food was good as the chicken, beef, and fries were very well seasoned. Cons: - the big portions that they advertised on social media were significantly smaller than what you get in person. - The fries had a slight soggy and cold texture which is weird since I ate it as soon as I got it. - They also could've given me more of the sauce. - Also how do you have loaded fries without cheese is crazy to me. Overall, the experience of getting the food was NOT worth it in the slightest but the food was actually decent. If I didn't have to do deal with the terrible experience and falsely advertised portions than I would've given them a EASY 5 star.
