There is a huge sliding door and huge dining room windows from the backyard facing into our home, thus not providing any privacy. Our neighbors in the rear have a clear view of the inside of our home. This is where Al comes in. He arrived at our home, took measurements and provided some great suggestions. My wife and I wanted to go with a tropical theme which would incorporate with our already landscaped backyard. I asked Al if he could do a design with ferns, monstera, and bamboo. He said no problem. After setting up an appointment, Rob came by and completed the work. Rob also was very friendly and knowledgeable about his trade. Job was completed in a few hours and the design completely blew my mind! Without even asking, Al added bird-of-paradise and what I think is red ginger. I highly recommend Al's Tinting! Located on Kamehameha Highway across from Anna Millers and next to Lex Brodies. You could utilize the Lex Brodies lot as a back up in case the parking in front is taken. I would recommend making an appointment so you can plan ahead. With everyone's busy schedules these days, it does help to plan. They do take walk in's though. So if you decide to purchase a new car at night and want to get it tinted right away, drop on in and see them. You might just see a hot girl or sexy guy for your pickings. After months of saying "we really need to get the windows tinted" I finally got if taken care of about two weeks ago. Having no real idea where to go I used the search function on Yelp and found Al's and saw all the good ratings and decided to take a leap. I called them up and got a quote and was able to make an appointment for two days later. They took care of my car during the time stated, and the price was extremely reasonable. Their services also comes with a lifetime warranty which shows me a lot about the quality of their work, and the type of business they run. They were very professional and helpful. They did an okay job with my tinting. I have small bubbles on jus about all my windows and I jus took my car back to have one window redone. Both times I have gone there they tracked black sludgy mud into my brand new car. The second time they left boot tracks on the side of my door. They are not friendly, not once did I get a thank you for my business. I would not recommend them for tinting, for the kind of $$ they charge. read more

With all the great reviews I decided to give this place a try, I didn't really shop around for price but I heard it was a little higher if not average. That's okay for me, since my car was only a couple years old but brand new to me, I wanted to get the better quality vs price. I got all windows done except my windshield. All the counter guys were excellent at explaining the different tints and heat protections. I asked for the darkest legal and best protection! I felt at ease that they knew what they were doing. At the time I was working in Pearl city, scheduled the appointment, dropped my car off and picked it up same day. They let me know there would be what looks like water type spots would be on the windows for a couple days and would come off. Windows are fantastic! Keep my car cool and look great! A year and a half later, I rolled down my window and heard a plastic. I had like a half inch bubble on my drivers side. I called them, they said bring it right in. I did the best day and showed them my paperwork(keep your warranty paperwork, it's a warranty for the tint material), you'll need it if it's the material issue. And they fixed it right away! With the summer approaching I've noticed its started to get a bit toasty in the ride. If I wanted to sit in a sauna for a few minutes it should be at the gym...not my ride. Ben from Hawaii Auto Detailing referred me to Al's and stated they were the best (quickly followed by...you get what you pay for). I knew what that meant...this may be a pricey endeavor. I stopped by and they were super helpful and scheduled an appointment first thing in the morning. I ended up selecting the Panorama Hilite 35% as I didn't want to run the risk of having them ask me to pull it off for the annual safety. They said it would be done in 2 hours...and low and behold, two hours later I got the call. They went over some of the characteristics of the film and warned me because of the product there would be a thousand bubbles in it and not to worry, it will go away. They also took the time to inform me of the lifetime warranty which was cool. Not many places guarantee stuff for life. Its been a few days and the bubbles have been steadily disappearing! I must say...the whip is looking very nice with the new tint. Now, the film is pricey, but you can't beat the heat reduction or the look. I'm definitely satisfied! read more

Another great experience at Als. These guys are solid. Made a same day appointment and they fit me in and cranked out the job. Stoked on my truck. I'm leasing so I got solar guard in the rear windows but still the panorama highlight in the front ones for highest heat reduction. I was bummed that my truck (2016 Tacoma) wasn't able to get the front windshield tint because they come pre tinted a bit and the combo wouldn't allow it to pass Safety. They maybe just a little higher then the competition as far as price goes but you get what you pay for. In my opinion, it's better and more cost effective to pay for a job well done one time then to bounce around for the cheapest shop and receive the worst service. When you purchase a lifetime warranty on your tint, some other shops give you the run around and try to weasel out of servicing you but not these guys. I wish I took pictures to prove this. About 6 months ago I had my Nissan Altima tinted here. It was a last minute decision. If I known that they weren't going to clean the windows before applying the tint, I would of washed my car first. Came in today due to having to remove and replace my back passenger and rear window because it didn't pass inspection. They did a good job removing it replacing it. Paid $230 including tax. I had my new 2017 Toyota Camry tinted by Al's Tinting and I'm glad I did! I had it done yesterday and it looks Great! Before I made an appointment to have it done, they went over all the different types of film they carry so that I could have enough information on which film I wanted to go with. They also had a display that showed you how the film they carry rejected heat which was helpful in making my decision. I decided to go with their Huper Optik Ceramic Film which is a little higher in price but it had the features I felt I would be satisfied with. After the tinting was done, they went over how to care for your tint and also inform you about the curing process of the tint. I was told that what may look like defects in their tint job is actually part of the curing process and should go away after some time. I'm planning on going back to Al's to complete my car's tint and doing the front windshield. read more

Showed up 5 minutes before 8, no one there. Ok, I'll wait. 8 am came and went, 8:15 came and went. I had to leave without dropping my car off for service as I have a job that I must be at on time! I called them after getting to work (8:30 AM) to re-schedule and the man picked up and said to me: "I saw you waiting while I was in my car at the light, I had to go and drop something off and by the time I came back you were already gone"! I can't make this up! So, you're responsible for opening up the buisness in the morning you're already late, you see your customer who has an appointment waiting outside your buisness and you decide to take care of your personal buisness and make your customer wait longer!?!? I pride myself with being where I'm supposed to be when I'm supposed to be there. Since this buisness doesn't, they don't get my buisness. They may do good work but not in this case. I Went Here To Get My Passat Volkswagen Tinted . I did inquire via email About how much is the starting rate of getting 4 windows tinted and the windshield , I got a reply saying starting for my car is $200 . I paid $350 cash if I would of paid with card it would of been more. I'm disappointed when I went there,there was no tint that was Starting at $200 it was staring at $275 , I got the middle tint 35% for my passat. And it a decent darkness. Just disappointed to spend that much money when tint it's self cost 100 , and I waited 3 1/2 hours for my car .
