Just took my dog in for Kennel Cough and was charged $345. $120 are for prescriptions that should cost less than $20 for both. $150 for two injections I have no idea what they are because you can't read the hand writing. I was never informed of the cost prior to treatment. This non life threatening illness. I have been client for over 8 years. Never again. Online suggested treatment ranges from $75 -200. I tried to return prescriptions less than 30 min later and they quoted some statute about not being able. These are meds they fill in there office that had never been opened. read more

This is a great alternative to the expensive vaccines that many veterinarians and pet clinics offer. A 3 year rabies shot is only $12 and no office fee is charged like at most places. Your pet must have had a 1 year rabies shot prior with no adverse reaction. They also offer 1 year rabies vaccines along with a whole host of other low prices vaccines. And they offer a mobile service that goes to many locations all over the metro Orlando area every week. The Altamonte location is small but was not hard to find. I advise parking in the back as that's where the entrance is. They also offer other services besides the vaccines, and they take walk-ins. The room they took me in to give my cat the vaccine was not typical, it looked like a surgery/supply room. And other vets I've visited have much cleaner and newer looking exam rooms, that's why it's 3 stars instead of 5. The doctor was nice and it was quick once I got in there. I would probably return, but for the low cost vaccines only. For other vet services I needed I would go to my usual place. read more

Have 2 older dogs and an acquired 5 yr old from an ailing owner. Shots, vacinnes and medications with no problems. Nails trimmed done well. Everyone friendly & attentive. I've been there close to 10 yrs with no problems. Dogs seem to enjoy the visits. Dog handler advice...Please stop your dog's interest in food on the grass or sidewalks. I brought our older family dog in because she got her paw stuck in her harness for several hours and we suspected a dislocated shoulder. She was visibly limping. Several of the vet techs weren't wearing masks and the vet came in the tiny room with NO MASK ON.... The vet was dismissive and said the limp was only because her NAILS were long.. makes literally NO sense especially because I told him that this JUST started last night. I had to insist for him to give her a shot for pain because he was trying to just clip her nails and not even do anything about her leg.. I took her somewhere else today and they told me she has arthritis that got exasperated. Now she's on pain meds, anti inflammatory meds etc. this place doesn't care about helping you pets. I came 5 minutes early to an 11am appointment. It's currently 12:20 and I just left because I still haven't seen the vet. It shouldn't take over an hour with no explanation. Plus AC was out and it was almost 80 degrees. And it was straight up dirty. The examine room had dirt on the floor, the metal examine table had clearly only been cleaned on the top because the leg and base of it was filthy and the floor was gross. My husband took my little angel Cinderella to get help because she wasn't walking on her left leg. Three times he took her back because she continued to be in pain and worsen each day. Six hundred dollars later all Cinderella received was the staff insisting she was an actress and the vet said she might have arthritis. After taking x-rays and not being able to see any active problem or fractures we decided a second opinion was needed. Turns out Cinderella has bone cancer which was clear from the new x-ray and also the pictures taken from her chest determined the cancer has spread. I am writing this review to share the information the new vet gave me which was comenting on the films originally taken from the low cost pet vaccinations clinic. The equipment used to x-ray was outdated and probably over 30 years old. They should have did bloodwork. Failure on their part. Well now I know I should have never went there, but my Cinderella has suffered many weeks because of the mistake they made. I hope others will learn from my hardship and don't take your baby to this awful clinic. read more

Extremely disappointed with the unprofessional services of the front staff. Came in for my dogs 2nd teeth cleaning. Was quoted an amount over the phone and was reassured of the price. Was told teeth cleaning was ($125) and would be charged for 5 teeth extractions maximum ($125) and wouldn't inquire more costs since was dog was a patient. Once I arrived early in the morning to drop off my dog, was told it was an additional $196. I was told I needed to pay a an additional $125 blood work exam & teeth cleaning was $196, not $125. Front staff simply said it was a miss communication on their end & they had new people working there & I was free to shop around in other places for different prices. Total waste of my morning, I drove 30 min there & back. Certainly don't recommend this clinic!!!! read more

Worst service ever i took my puppy there to get her shots i told them she was a rescue and and i was told she was 6 weeks old when i got her only had her a week i told the vet i really didnt think she was that old just by how small she was and the way she was acting (walking,whining,ect) he looked at her and said she 8 weeks old and gave her the shots that was around 3 in the afternoon at about 3 am she was laying on the bed sleeping she stood up and started vomiting she did that about 3 times then came the dierrhea it was like water she had the shakes she threw up about 5 more times i was freeking out so about 5am i called the emergency vet and took her in they took one look at her and said she was to young to even get the shots they gave her some fluid and something to stop the vomiting when we got home she seemed a little better not throwing up still had watery diarrhea so i called them back they thought maybe she had parvo or and alergic reaction to the shots and told me to make an appointment with my normal vet i called them and made an appointment for that day brought her in and they took one look at her too and said she was only about 4 or 5 weeks way to young for shots its been two weeks since i took her for her shots and now she is back to her normal self after i started telling people about what happened the horror stories from other people and there experience with this place started coming out alot of people have had their pet either very sick or die from going here this place almost killed my 1600.00 puppy to make 80.00 i will never bring a pet of any kind to these people ever again and i will let everyone i know never to take there pet here worst experience i have ever had with a vet office read more

I adopted a new dog and requested a check up exam and vaccines. The receipt reflects an exam was completed along with shots and heart worm test. The next day I took our new dog for grooming. The groomer found 12 ticks, several were so large my dog bled during removal. When I called the vet about this the assistant said they didn't actually do an exam. The vet would not get on the phone. I took my new pup to a doctor to make sure he was healthy and it took the groomer to help him. They lied and backtracked. If you love your pet don't trust these people. read more

We took our kitty in because he had a cough. We had an appointment and was taken right on time. The Vet was very friendly, thorough, and gentle with Bailey. Bailey even relaxed which was a miracle since he had a very bad experience at a vet in Lake Mary. Our bill was under $100 which included visit, vaccines, and his medicine! I brought my dog here and told the vet that he had been throwing up all morning and wouldn't eat and that he has eaten a plastic bowl a couple days before and that I thought there could be a blockage and he immediately said allergies within seconds of walking in the room. Didn't feel his stomach or test for anything at all. Gave him shots to stop the vomiting and since we left the vet he just kept getting worse. He's depressed and barely moving around and is obviously weak, he's dehydrated from throwing up all the water he can't keep down . Took him to a different vet this morning and he has a blockage in his stomach and needs emergency surgery. This vet could've killed my dog if I didn't go to someone else . He obviously just wants to get more money out of his clients more than he cares about the care of the animal . Sad . I don't recommend coming here to anyone . read more

HORRIBLE!!!!! Run!!!! I took my dog in for a rabie shot and a nail trim. The vet stated he would have to sedate rhe dog because he was too anxious and would not allow him to touch his feet. I understand this because I cannot trim his nails due to the fact he doesn't like his feet handled. He is a rescue dog and is still afraid of some things. The vet sedated my dog and didn't just trim his nails, they are so short you can barely see them out of the ends of his toes. When we got him in our NEW car he was bleeding bad enough that not only is my seat ruined but also the headliner where the blood was squirting from his paw! The seat coxer is ruined as well. I took Jack back in and they applied more of the powder blood stop stuff they use and it tempoarily stopped. The only offer of help was a bottle of 3% peroxide and 97% water and a paper towel to clean it. My husband went back in and as the vet came out of a room he asked where all the blood came from. A staff member said it was from our dogs paws. He asked where is the dog. My husband said in my car. The vet replied "so he is outside not bleeding in my floor right". I called and asked where to get my cae cleaned and how they wanted to pay for it. I was put on hold 12 minutes then told the Dr was in surgery and the office manager on lunch but someone would call me back. Nobody called. I called again the next day and the office manager said it IS THEIR POLICY TO CUT DOGS NAILS SHORT ENOUGH THAT THEY EXPECT THEM TO BLEED. Their reasoning is they won't need a trim for several months. When asked about having my car cleaned, her reply was. IT IS NOT OUR RESPONSIBILITY IF YOUR DOG IS BLEEDING WHEN THEY LEAVE OUR OFFICE. WE PERFORM A SERVICE WHETHER YOUR PET BLEEDS OR NOT IS NOT OUR CONCERN. BESIDES WE DID NOT TELL YOU TO BRING YOUR PET TO US IN YOUR CAR. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!!!! I felt this place would be convenient since I work in the area and would be able to drop off/pick up my Kittie for spaying. The front desk when I called was nice and polite - thought NO BIGGIE. The day of the surgery I was told drop off between 8 / 8:30. I sat there for a half hour, called 4 times, left two messages. I HAVE A JOB I HAVE TO GO TO....Left after 8:30 with my Kittie - whom I had to leave at my daughter's - THANK GOD SHE LIVES IN THE AREA. Never received a call back from the place to say ANYTHING. Please stay away from this establishment, for your pet's sake! They are extremely rude, neglectful, and genuinely do not care about your animal! I'm shocked that this place hasn't been closed down. I took my new dog here to make sure she was healthy (I have another dog) and to get her up-to-date on her shots. It was cheap and had decent reviews, so I figured why not. Let me tell you, it was one of the biggest mistakes taking her into this office! The office is absolutely filthy from top to bottom. There's no way surgery should be conducted in such an establishment. The staff is rude, unprofessional, and doesn't care about the well being of your animal. The vet is even worse then the staff, he is straight up disrespectful and has the nerve to laugh at you if you are not satisfied with his services. Just remember, at this establishment anything that goes wrong is your fault, they take responsibility for nothing. As someone has already pointed out, the prices they give you are only accurate when you "decline" seeing the vet. Because I needed to make sure my new dog was healthy, I sucked it up and paid the extra $35. The vet did nothing for my dog. He neglected to weigh her or ask her history before giving medication. If he had, he would have known she was too small for what he gave her. His tests consisted of shoving an open can of food in the dogs face, and that's actually about it. Ears and eyes were not checked, worms weren't checked (even though I requested because she had worms), and he couldn't even tell me how old she was (he said 6 months, she's clearly an adult dog). When my dog had an allergic reaction to her vaccine, the vet wouldn't see her for at least 3 hours. She's only 4lbs and couldn't even stand when I called them for help. I ended up taking my dog to the Vet ER and was out another $250 (on top of the $100 I paid them). When I complained about the neglect I experienced while in their care, I was told to come into the office again so they could address my concerns. Once I got there, I was lectured by the vet that I shouldn't tell a doctor how to do their job and how he's never had a complaint before (obviously a lie). He then proceeded to laugh at me for coming back in because, in his words, you shouldn't go back to a doctor your not happy with. He was kind enough to refund me the whole $35 it cost to see him, a mere 10% of amount I lost due to visiting this establishment. At this point it's not even about the money, it's about the safety of other animals. Please, please, please stay away from this vet. This is a scam and your pet will most likely NOT be cared for. The staff was excellent, and the prices can't be beat. When I made the appointment I asked for 3 year rabies vaccines and dewormer for 2 cats and was quoted a charge of 65.00. This sounded like a great deal, but made me a little nervous since I'd used low cost vets before and had been less than thrilled with the service. When I showed up for my appointment ( a few minutes early) I was seen right away. The vet tech was extremely gentle and got the shots over quickly. When the cats were back in their carriers and it was time to pay the receptionist asked if I had any questions. Sensing my doubts about administering dewormer pills myself she explained that they could give them a shot for a couple of dollars more which I chose to do instead. The vet tech happily helped me unload each cat again and gave them each another shot never making me feel like an inconvenience. PLease DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE!!!! I took my bog dog (8 year old lab mix) as he got up one morning and was having difficulties walking ( he was fine at 2am and not fine at 11am). The vet never put his hands on my dog for an examination but did a visual exam only, through this visual exam he determined that my dog had arthritis and prescribed some pills an gave him a shot and said he would feel much better within a few days. He also stated that I should keep him moving as much as possible as it will help alleviate the pain of the arthritis. After 4 days my dog was no better an was in fact worse. I took him to another vet and they determined he had slipped a disc in his back and needed cage rest, however the damage was done. If my dog had been diagnosed properly in a timely manner he would have made a full recovery. I ended up with my boy in a doggie wheelchair for the last two months of his life and when we could not control the pain he had to let him go. THIS VETS INCOMPETENCE COST MY DOG HIS LIFE!!! read more

we had been going here for years and things were okay not great but, okay. I took three of my pets two dogs and one kitten . the kitten for beginner shot package I was told 35.00 for everything needed. well then I get there and its an additional 30.00 for a test she has to have then my little girl has her yearly shots. and my hound she has been getting into everything so she has rash and needs looked at the doctor comes in and looks at her and says she needs all sorts of meds for a infection so I buy the one that's most important and let them know I will need to come back and pick up the others because its costly so today when I call over I ask them if they could send it over to sams club for me since it is on my way to work and I can't get back up there this week , the woman was very rude and told me I would need to come in and pay 3.00 to get them to send it over to sams wow ! I explained once again I couldn't get over there and ask if I could give them 3.00 on my card she said no I had to come in !!!! I got off the phone and thought about things and called back I ask what the cost would be for my pet records and told her I wasn't happy with the talk we just had she said 5 pets 10.00 nasty nasty attitude she does not care about this place and she does not care about the customers included pets and people !!! we have been going there for over 6 years this new staff should be a shamed of the way they act. My dog was limping so I took him here to get checked. His limping was inconsistent, and although he was limping walking into the office which the office workers could see, he looked like he was walking fine when the doctor asked me to walk him while he watched. He put him on the table and barely checked his legs and paws for injury. Just told me he probably played rough and sprained his leg, but it isn't broken. Then he proceeded to tell me he thinks my dogs glands need to be expressed. I didn't understand that since he didn't show any signs of that and he was going to the restroom just fine. Then the doctor said they would have to sedate him to do it. I didn't know what to do, so I let the doctor do it based on his recommendation. They brought me into the room after to show me the stool, which looked normal, and then he told me that the glands weren't bad; so why did they need to be expressed? So I went in for a limp leg and walked out paying $125 for them to check my dogs glands. He was still limping two days later so I took him to a different vet who did a thorough examination of his legs and noticed that the Achilles heel was swollen on the bad leg which could mean a torn tendon or fractured bone, and is a very serious condition that needs to be looked at right away. I now have to take him to a specialist to see how serious the condition is and if he will need surgery. There could be more damage now that I waited and went by the Altamonte 436 Pet Doc recommendation of he is fine and the leg isn't broken. I would never come back here again. They may have cheap shots, but don't bring your pet here for anything serious!!! read more

I took my dog I recently rescued from an irresponsible owner to this vet (they had convenient Sat hrs). When I initially called I was quoted a price and told me the first visit was free since he was still a puppy (I told them he was about 7-9mo old). When I arived and the had me fill out the carbon copy forms for the visit, there was a stamp on there saying exam declined and they wanted me to initial it. When I inquired about it they said I was just there for shots and heartworm test, that I was denying the exam. I asked why would I deny the exam when that is what I was there for, to make sure he was in good health since he was originally so neglected and to get his first round of shots and make sure heartworm free. They then informed me it would be an additional $35 charge to have him examined since he was over 4mo old (first visit only free for puppies 4mo and under). Since I have other dogs at home I wanted to make sure he was in good health. Well, when they went to draw blood for heartworm test, they could not control my dog to get the blood. When he started to jerk his leg away they let go of the syringe/needle and let it flop around while my dog tried to get away and eventually came out. This happened a second time. After that I took control of my dog for them and they still had to "fish around" to find his vein and get blood. When the vet came in he tried to tell me my dog was between 1-3yrs old. When I told him he was 10mo max he questioned me "Are you sure??" YES I am!! I did know a little bit of history on the dog before I got him. You could tell by looking at him he was still a puppy. The vet then gave him his shots, said he was good for a year (even thought this was his first set of shots) and gave him a clean bill of health without even listening to his heart and lungs and said nothing about him being under weight due to his neglect. They didn't even put the results of the heartworm test on my paperwork. I will NEVE return to this vet and do NOT recommend anyone else taking their animals here if they care anything about them!! read more
