Our family recently had to say goodbye to one of our 16 year old soul cats from my childhood. Garden Vet, as always, demonstrated compassion, empathy, and support. They go above and beyond to make both pets (and pet parents) comfortable. While a flower delivery and sympathy card weren't on our mind from the vet, that's just a single example of the thought that is behind everything they do. They truly are a class act and perfect example of compassionate service in Orlando. I send all of my friends here when they're in the market for a new vet. Not only are the doctors kind and thorough, but the techs and front desk staff are what really make the difference. They get to know you and your pet and are always rooting for your furry companions. I fully believe they are a large reason why my girls have lived so long - they do routine bloodwork and have caught so many underlying issues throughout the last 6 years between the 2 of our girls (high blood pressure, hyperthyroid, all the things you don't think of for a cat). We've shed a lot of tears in Garden Vet recently, and I want to thank the whole team for taking such good care of Darla and us. Grief is not linear, and can be absolutely overwhelming. We had a comfortable private room and everything was attended to in thoughtful detail. And the fees were very reasonable. 5 Stars for a great, quick intro appointment for a new puppy. I called about two weeks in advance of getting my puppy to make sure I could get her seen by a vet soon after I got her. They were very accommodating and got me set up with an appointment on the exact date and time I was hoping for. When I arrived, there were no other dogs in the waiting area and I got led to an exam room pretty immediately. On the way to the room, I loved the dog-themed decor! It felt very nice ell designed, intentional, and inviting. There was a cute dog bed in the room and we didn't have to wait long at all. Ultimately, the vet tech and vet were friendly and answered all of our questions. It was a great first appointment and we'll be back several more times in the next two months for more vaccinations! read more

I've been going to Garden Vet with my three dogs since ive moved to Orlando and continued even when i've moved outside of Orlando. Their expertise and patient care goes beyond their building. I had an emergency with one of my dogs where he had a bowel obstruction. I brought him to an emergency vet since it was a weekend Garden Vet was not opened. I did not feel like i was in proper hands but was easily calmed when i realized my tech also worked at Garden Vet. He was a calm and knowledgeable presence and assured me to the best care with Dr. Berger at Garden Vet the following day. Are all vets becoming money making machines? I've been going to Garden for many years, but lately they just want to upsell you and suggest treatments your pet doesn't need. So what changed? I rece spent over $300 but if I had done everything they "suggested" it would have cost me more than double that. who has that kind of money? And stop trying to make me feel guilty. I've been going to Garden Vet for many years. Recently, I had to let one of my Great loves return to heaven. I was shown so much love , compassion, understanding, and grace. It's never easy when you loose a great. I had to not only process my grief but his brother's grief. It's been almost two weeks. We are starting to figure out a new way. Starting. Tears are still shed, Fenny still waits to see if Bruin will come in the door with me, we have our moments but we are now having some good moments as well. One of our girls ripped a nail off and my husband called right at opening the next day. The person who answered the phone was not only kind, but helpful and got her in an hour later. At this point, we did not have insurance for her, but the process was easy, entire staff was wonderful, and the visit didn't throw us into debt. My husband and I tell everyone how incredible this Vet Clinic is. My sister in law goes here, my bridesmaid, my coworker, my boss, etc are all happy customers of Garden Vet. What I love about the dog side of the clinic are the adorable little half doors that your busy-body puppy can look out of and see what's going on. There are balls and treats in the rooms. It is such a safe space. Let me explain how amazing they are for the humans: One night my dog started behaving differently. He is 4 YO and could tell something was wrong. He wasn't eating his treats, his back legs were bothering him, and he wouldn't climb the stairs. This was a Friday night. I sent them an email in the middle of the night - frantic. On a Saturday morning, they fit us right in. The whole visit with X-rays lasted less than 50 mins. They are incredible. My sister in law has a 15 YO dog who also experienced age related pain. They diagnosed her medication for her hip and within weeks, she is like a brand new dog. It's been months and she's been rejuvenated! She runs around and bosses our dog around! Two wonderful outcomes for opposite end of the spectrum dogs. The staff here is incredible. From the front, to the doctors and techs. Needed to find a vet to update my 16 year old cockapoo's shots for travel. The previous vet I liked left the other office I visited the previous year. GREAT vet office. When I called, they were very professional. Gave me the info I needed to send my dogs past records. It was easy. Los of parking. Welcoming staff. They had all the info when we arrived. Easy check in. The exam rooms are spacious with a large ottoman for my dog & me. Chairs are also in the room. Good idea to have the half door for the entrance to the exam room. No surprises for the animal when staff or the vet enter. You might discover something in the halls to bring a smile to your face. Vet Dr. Lindblad and the staff were wonderful. I came to this practice because the reviews were glowing, and it is underrated! Garden Vet is what all veterinary practices should be but finding one like this is incredibly rare. As a huge animal lover, we're pretty familiar with most of the veterinary practices in the downtown Orlando/WP area over the past few decades. We've rescued multiple cats and dogs, I've learned the most important quality you want in a veterinary practice is TRUST. Two of the most important qualities in a vet practice: 1. Attention to Details 2. Amazing Surgical work It is hard to know who to trust but some of the telling qualities is thoroughness. This is a quality that would save you thousands of dollars over a pet's lifetime and particularly geriatric rescues with unknown backgrounds. Dr Lindblad is thorough, detail oriented, and incredibly caring. She takes the computer to show you exactly where the microbes are in the images and suspicious areas are in X-rays. She doesn't just throw medicine at you but pinpoint the underlying problem. The practice has fair pricing that is highly competitive with other vets in the area. I've waited a long time to write this review because I wanted to see how my dog's dental surgery went. I've gone to multiple vets over the years for this gingival hyperplasia and the surgical job done at Garden Vet was simply spectacular and the price was fair. You rarely see surgical work executed this well! My dog Kit had major hyperplasia and it is a genetic issues that requires multiple surgeries to trim excess gums. I've also owned another dog of the same breed who had this exact issue. I've seen many gingival hyperplasia work done and this was simply the best work I've seen in years. They have an excellent surgeon with deft & delicate hands! This is the number two thing I look for at a vet. Having a good surgeon could mean life vs death in an emergency or having those clean margins for cancer. We've had passionate vets who aren't good at surgery and other practices who have astronomical prices because it's been sold to a conglomerate. A lot of practices in the area are actually corporate co-op such as Vetcore. These practices tend to have hidden charges which would nickel and dime or just overcharge for very mediocre service that adds up over time. The only thing I do wish Garden Vet had was longer service hours like weekends and after 5pm. Overall, I could not recommend this veterinary practice with more enthusiasm! These people do not care about a suffering animal...all they care about is money! IF you haven't been there before, they want $70 just to tell you what you already know! We have been taking our pets here for 4 years now and are about to move out of the area and are so sad to be leaving this vet. The front desk staff are always pleasant and when I've called to request records they always get it to me right away. Once established they always find time to see our animals and we haven't ever had issues setting up appointments even a week out. Our older male cat got a kidney stone and we had to take him to an emergency vet late one night. They couldn't keep him overnight and told us to go to our regular vet. I know overnight boarding can be hard to schedule last minute but they were able to move things around to get him in without any pre-existing appointment. I literally showed up at 8am with a sick cat and they made it so easy and took care of our cat without questions. Their pricing is incredibly reasonable on top of how amazing they are, for an annual exam and vaccines they cost just about the same as a vaccine clinic (but we are established and they are familiar with the animals). So sad to be leaving, if you are looking for a vet definitely consider them. read more

My experiences with this office have been so incredibly traumatizing for my cat and I that I feel obligated to share this story. In short, the doctors put my cat's life in danger due to their own irresponsibility. After bringing my cat in for only one symptom (coughing) she came out of the office no answers for her actual symptoms, but instead a diabetes diagnosis and a full day of IVs (which were completely unnecessary, expensive, and traumatizing for my cat). The diabetes diagnosis was a shock (spoiler alert, it was a misdiagnosis). She's young, and never shown ANY symptoms of diabetes whatsoever. Their reasoning? A high glucose level in the office (something that can happen when cats are anxious). After I expressed my confusion with this sudden diagnosis, they assured me there was NO other possibility and no further testing was required. They sent me home with a box of syringes and insulin. I was given a packet of elementary level feline diabetes information and that was that. The next day they asked me to bring her back for another FULL DAY of IV fluid hospitalization, which was such an extreme treatment for problems they were just guessing at. I told them no. I was shamed by a nurse for objecting their recommendation, but the treatment felt completely unnecessary. Turns out it was. We started the insulin at home per the doctors orders. Quickly I noticed she was acting strangely on the insulin. Coincidentally, a family friend had a recently diagnosed diabetic cat that was diagnosed after a series of at home testing and given a ton of information on how to properly care for a diabetic cat. The difference in approach between their vet and ours started raising some questions. Why weren't we advised to test at home first? Why hadn't we done a more comprehensive blood test, especially considering she had no other symptoms? I started doing my own research. Come to find out, insulin can cause dangerously low blood sugar if not tested correctly at home (something we were never given any information on) and it can be life threatening. I asked the vet 100 times if we should be testing her at home and they assured me we didn't need to do that for months. I decided to do it anyway for my own peace of mind. Sure enough, her glucose was dangerously low. I brought her back and they confirmed she was hypoglycemic on the insulin. If it wasn't for my own obsessive research my cat could have died. Thank goodness I questioned her reaction to the insulin before something terrible happened. I now know that my cat does NOT have diabetes. This has been confirmed by another veterinary office. There was no reason to give her insulin There was no reason to put her on two full days of IV fluids either. Turns out, she just has asthma. We brought her in with ONE symptom, and it wasn't even treated for a week. Actually, it wasn't properly treated until we found a new vet. I cannot describe the panic of knowing your cats life is in your hands because you can't trust a single thing your vet has told you. The stress of knowing you are only able to rely on your own research. That anxiety is something no pet owner deserves. Garden Vet wrongly diagnosed my cat with diabetes, they failed to educate me on warning signs of hypoglycemia, they failed to give me the correct home care recommendations. They ran tests without my consent and then charged me for it afterwards. They jumped to conclusions before getting answers and my cat paid the price for that. It makes me sick knowing her life was on the line because the doctors at this clinic were irresponsible. I'm not writing this review to be hateful. But if I didn't share this story, this could happen to someone else's pet. If I can keep another family from going through what we did, this review is worth it. The only positive thing I can say is that the staff does a good job at accommodating for emergency/last minute visits. But it's not really that helpful if your pet isn't in good hands. read more

They always have room to fit my service dog in, and I still would recommend the clinic. My only complaint is that the prices have gone up, however, it's worth it to me. read more

Me and my boys (my poodle Simba and my yorkie Chewy) just moved up to the Orlando area and didn't have a trusted vet yet. I stumbled across Garden Veterinary Clinic on yelp and I'm so happy I did. Not only are they taking the necessary COVID-19 precautions by having you and your pet wait in the car, but they wait to bring you in (in a timely manner) to your own private exam room to be away from other people. I'm use to my yorkie having the most anxiety in a vet setting but the rooms at this clinic cured his anxiety lol. They have the farm house doors for each exam room where it is cut in half, a twin sized bed, an exam table with a cushion and towel, and chairs. Chewy was able to lay down on the twin bed and just watch everyone walk back and forth and surprisingly didn't bark once. Chewy had an ear infection. They took swabs from each ear. I saw the techs bring the swabs back to a lab room and examine them under a microscope. The vet was super sweet and kind to my Chewy. The vet tech was amazing as well I made sure to switch all of my dogs' records to this clinic the minute i got home. Can't wait to bring my other dog here! read more

They happily helped with my FELV/FIV (++) kitten and did IFA testing, cleaned and extracted 5 of my chihuahuas teeth and helped with my mysteriously sick kitten. Rude receptionist. Took my senior cat (17) in for a regular check up. Indoor cat. Not exposed to outside cats. They gave her a rabies vaccine. Also they gave her an upper respiratory vaccine that was not needed because she is strictly an indoor cat. I TOLD THEM THAT. That respiratory vaccine made her sick. She was sick for two weeks. The side effects were not mentioned or I would have said no. I was not even told what that particular vaccine was for. It was dropped into her nostrils. So a week later I had to take her back up there to get her on antibiotics. The vet that time was loud and seemed a bit brash. My cat was perfectly healthy before I went there. When I was in there for the second time the vet pushed an immune system treat on me knowing my cats teeth weren't the best as she's 17, and the treats were HARD AS A ROCK. They should have known they were not acceptable for my senior cat and again did not mention how rock solid they were and I asked to return them, of course. When I went to return them and and I was standing at the reception area- NOT ONE WOMAN there asked me if I needed assistance. Finally, one lady said the other lady over there can help you, and then when I went to her- and stated why I was there the First Lady chimed back in and said she will handle it after all. SMH. She did not speak to me at all was completely cold and stonewalled me while refunding my money. She didn't say two words turned around and walked away- just rude. Not very nice and seemed to not give two cares about my pet and the situation. Like it was my fault they're pushing products on me my cat can't even chew. I will definitely never be returning there ever. Anywhere is better than dealing with all that drama and rude staff on top of it. Not a pleasant experience. read more

I've been to this vet on multiple occasions, for both cats and dogs, and every time the staff and Dr. Neitzel have been amazing. Their love of animals and compassion always amazes me. Even when it came to making the hardest decision for my dog today, they were honest and heart felt the whole way and very supportive. Dr. Kim was so patient & compassionate when my furface (shih tzu) herniated a disc in his neck. My husband & I were beside ourselves and so upset. She gave such wonderful care to all of us lol. We love that she is very committed to treating as non invasively as possible and as little pharmaceutical options as possible. She suggested trying acupuncture on our baby when the rest & steroids just weren't working. I am always apprehensive about going to the vets office. This is because for the longest time I took my babies to Banfield, and I knew that there they were solely focused on the profit. When Tonks, a Foxhound I recently adopted, didn't get better from a repository infection, I called Garden Veterinary. In fact, my boss referred me here. Even though Tonks wasn't a current patient, they managed to get me in the same day. When I went, they had a relief vet filing in. He, and all of the staff, were exceptionally friendly, and took the time to make sure my girl was taken care of. In fact, they kept apologizing for my having to wait when in reality it wasn't an inconvenience at all! After all, they fit me in last minute into their busy schedule.
