I was looking for a new local florist to order flowers from as I've had some bad experience with some others. Due to the reviews here and elsewhere, I thought Altamonte Springs was a good bet. I couldn't have been more wrong. Though the delivery was timely, the bouquet (I chose the 'deal of the day') was underwhelming to say the least. Considering what I paid, it was tiny, didn't come close to matching the measurements shown online and the blooms are not all that healthy on day of delivery. You'd think with artistic license, they'd provide a more impressive bouquet. They couldn't even tie a nice ribbon around it! Further, I ordered a Mylar balloon and they gave me one that is partially inflated and looks weeks old! Never again. Don't make the same mistake I did! 1- They are not located in Altamonte!! even though google, Yelp and every other page says they are. They didn't even tell me they moved when I called to place the order. I drove there for nothing looking for a florists that was never there. They are now by Azela park and had to drive another 26 minutes after I called for address. Update your pages!! Apparently they are called Harry's now? 2- They took my order at 9am for 11am pick up and when I finally got there they couldn't find it. And put together a depressing arrangement. 3- $107 dollars for 12 roses, no baby's breath nothing else added just 12 sad roses and some looked old and ripped. Absolute rip off. My son ordered flowers for my birthday from here. He paid 100.00 and I received something that could have been purchased at Trader Joe's and thrown in a vase for about 25.00 total. What a ripoff and an unprofessional job!!! Half the flowers were covered up underneath and didn't know they existed until I called to complain. The flowers were old and mostly consisted of alstroemerias. Showed up a day late to boot! I've worked in the floral industry for years...what a shame! I was looking for a spot to get a fresh bouquet of roses for a friend who passed away. I decided to give this place a shot. The customer service was excellent. Very helpful and extremely nice, I felt welcomed right away. I was indecisive on what to get. The owner gave me options and ideas for the bouquet, but I still couldn't decide lol So she told me it would be a few minutes and she would have something perfect for me. In no time the bouquet was ready. It turned out beautiful, with colors that would bring joy to anyone, gathered in a perfect vase with a bow tie on it. I am so disappointed. I tried to find an email for them so I could complain directly to them before going public. What does it say when a company doesn't have an email. I ordered a Christmas bouquet. I went all out for the premium bouquet. When I arrived at my mother's house and saw what was delivered I almost wept. It didn't even look as good as the 'standard' version. I took pictures but for some reason it won't let me add them to this review. The difference is stark. I also ordered a wreath to be delivered on that same day to the same house. They wanted to charge me a delivery fee for each. The wreath on the website had a nice big velvet-like red bow. The one delivered had a pathetic red cotton-like plaid thing with one tie. Again, I am so disappointed. I really wanted to find a good local florist that I could count on. It is definitely not them. Well, Since I live in Longwood, and found the Longwood Florist online, I supposed it was a good thing to use them. NOT SO ! The $155 order of 2 dozen roses, with a red bow, showed up with 17 roses and no bow. Tried calling the Longwood Florist, number disconnected, stopped by the store front, space vacant!! Checked with my wife, who tells me the order came from Altamonte Springs florist. No response to my request by email or phone at this point from them either. The arrangement looks like it was put together by an unsupervised trainee, instead of an experienced florist. The only similarities I see is the picture on the website and the arrangement on my wife's desk is they are both red and white. I ordered a premium" anniversary flower arrangement and large box of chocolates for delivery to my wife for our 37th anniversary. The arrangement was no more than the "standard" size; far from deluxe and very far from "premium"! I was shocked. Now I'm inthe dog house for buying something so substandard. Being in San Francisco, I searched Google and Yelp (had no reviews yet) for a local florist to send a "Get Well" balloon bouquet for my sister in FL. She's a consummate "flower killer" (in her words) so balloons seemed a great pick-me-up alternative. Based on the Google search, I first called Springs Florist but after a very lengthy wait on their automated answering service, I tried Altamonte. Altamonte picked up on the second ring with a live person (Gail) who was extremely courteous and helpful with the order. At 11:45am EST, she ensured it would arrive same day. Indeed, the balloons arrived shortly thereafter much to my sister's surprise and delight of my 2 yr old nephew as well! It was a great touch that I received email confirmations for both the purchase and delivery. Altamonte Springs' website states they are a "family owned and run florist"- and it's obvious they take great pride in their customer service and products. While I didn't have an opportunity to try their floral products, it's obvious they value their customers' time and hard earned $$. When I arrived to pick them up, the flowers were in a vase, but I needed them wrapped up in a bouquet (my fault for not telling them that when I placed the order). I ordered a corsage from this business for my daughter's awards. Sad to say when I opened the box the morning after I picked it up and placed it on my daughter's wrist one rose fell out, and then the glue gave way causing the corsage to fall apart. The one sales girl (she had blonde hair) was super nice about it, and generally felt bad. In my mind the damage was done in that my daughter was crying at the start of her ceremony. There was one woman who came up front to look at it and was very rude and abrupt with me. She asked me "is the awards still going on now?" as if she was going to hurridly glue it again. The other woman offered to give me a refund which I took, and she gave me an arrangement for my daughter which I greatly appreciated. But on the way out I caught the other woman (who was an african american) giving me a glaring dirty look. This was three days ago. When I called today to see about my credit, the rude woman answered the phone and was very rude with me. Because of her way of handling and speaking with me, I will not be using this florist again. I was going to because of the other sales clerk, but because this other woman was so rude not once, but twice, and was abrupt as if I was a nuisance, I will not recommend this place. Sorry folks. Not to mention the roses were a little brown around the edges and for the price the corsage was very small, I do not blame the first woman or the owner, I blame the one that put it together, and the second woman who came up front in such a rude manner. read more
