Sometimes in life you are lucky enough to find something amazing that you just think you should share with the world. I have been fortunate enough to find Alter Ego Salon located in Gresham, Oregon. The salon itself is always clean, tastefully decorated and filled with professional, friendly people. The stylist for my entire family is Lacie Baumer. This woman is undeniably the most incredible stylist I have ever been blessed enough to find. She cuts my hair which is not an easy task since it can never decide if it wants to be curly, wavy or frizzy. And when she is finished with her cut all I have to do is wash throw in a bit of product and off I go...no fuss, no muss and I love my hair. She colors my hair as well and it is always perfect. My husband's hair is thick and heavy....cut it wrong and it looks like it belongs on the back of a porcupine but Lacie always cuts it perfectly. My daughter has waist length hair that Lacie trims and colors. Lacie is a true artist when it comes to choosing and mixing just the right color. My granddaughter's both have curly hair and needless to say it is not always easy to cut the hair of a two and three year old. Lacie makes it look like a breeze and both girls leave Alter Ego with perfect little hair do's. I was looking to get a hair removal appt. and didnt know where to go so I decided to do some research in the Gresham area. I found Ridas Skincare. I liked what I was reading on her website and decided I would go see Rida. Oh my gosh......I could not have chosen anyone better!! I have never experienced the waxing process and was a bit nervous at first but once I actually met Rida I was totally at ease. She did an excellent job waxing my underarms. Rida is very professional and meticulous. You are not done until she is done. That would be the perfectionism in her. Not only is she professional she has a great sense of humor!! I was so pleased with Rida that I went back for a Brazilian and then back a third time to get my legs waxed. I would now consider myself a regular customer of Ridas. I would never go anywhere else!! Two of my friends have already been in to see her and they are happy as well. I would highly recommend that if you need any kind of waxing done or skincare that you go see Rida. So, you've decided you want a Brazilian bikini wax or just your brows waxed then look no farther because Ridamar Entsminger is hands down the best esthetician around. I have been using her for all my waxing needs for the past 4 years and will not go to anyone else not even for my brows. Ridamar is professional, she keeps copious records on all her clients; what treatment she did, what product she used. She is extremely knowledgeable about skin and uses Dermalogica skin products. Rida has numerous certifications hanging in her room from all the trainings she has attended. But more then being well trained and professional. Rida is trustworthy. I have never felt uncomfortable with her expertise or her demeanor in any way. I truly can't say enough good things about Rida. read more

For my third anniversary with my boyfriend, he bought me a groupon for a mani/pedi with Dawn. I was so excited, but then confused. You have to text her for an appointment (which now I think is to my advantage), and she's very flexible. Dawn is amazing and she always does her best to accommodate my wishes when I go in for shellac manicures. After my first mani/pedi, she offered another groupon to buy through her so I bought two manis for $25! It's a great deal for the amazing work she does. In less than half an hour, I always have amazing nails that I'm proud to show off. Plus, I'm a sucker for designs and I feel bad because she isn't an artist, but her designs always look great! read more

I followed my stylist to Alter Ego 3 years ago and I'm SO GLAD she moved there!!! Not only does Lacie do amazing hair and nails but there are many other amazing stylists and nail techs that have helped squeeze me in when I can't get in with Lacie. The owner has made it a wonderful, welcoming salon atmosphere! I won't go anywhere else! I even bought my mother a gift certificate for Christmas there and we had wonderful time getting pedicures together! They even squeezed my 5yr old in and painted her nails too so she would feel included!!! I recommend this salon to everyone I know. read more

WORST SALON EVER!!! Bought a gift cert. for my mom. Bad idea. She went to use and staff was horribly rude. No one greeted or said one word to her as she waited to be helped. Including the ruse ass nail tech sitting right by the door. There was a stylist holding the wall up with her coffee and phone who glanced up but did nothing. All the other stylists went about there way not saying one word. Owner takes no responsibility for her rude ass employees. Owner is mouthy and Just as rude as everyone else!!! I have been to many other salons to get my hair on, well, in this case, off. I live in NoPo and have continued to drive to the Ego for many years now. Given their accountability and professionalism, I have no desire to go anywhere else. Stephanie B does a terrific job on my hair. I love this salon! I've had many services done over the years here, hair by both Heather and Stephanie, a pedicure by Dawn, waxing with Rita and spray ran by Brenda. My experiences have been very relaxing, I feel listened to and taken care of and always share a laugh with the staff member assisting me. Horrible!!! The worst customer service!! They dont greet you or even acknowledge you when you enter there salon. Nail tech and stylists are so lazy drinking coffee and holding up the wall to do anything. Employees and The Owner are so rude and mouthy I dont know how they are still open!! Jamie is amazing! Been my stylist for twelve years! I do a lot of changes- color, length, style, etc and she nails it every time. I also have thick, naturally curly hair and it's hard to find a stylist who really knows how to work with it, but Jamie definitely does. I got a spray tan done by Brenda Foster and it was completely perfect. I have gone back to her for every important event so far and have been completely in love with the results every time.
