It's been well over a month with the gel x set I am wearing and I have not experienced any chipping or lifting. The technician who worked on my nails was incredibly patient, detailed, and constantly checked in to ensure I liked my nails! First off I was charged $115 for gel polish mani/pedi, with a design on 2 toes. I got home I called for a breakdown of the charges: $65 for deluxe gel pedi, $10 for toes design and $35 for Gel mani. This equals $110 as quoted. Second was the (flower?) design....pretty, but looks to be sideways and more like a shell. See photo. Third was the redness caused to my toes as clipping too close. I communicated my concern with using regular polish top coat on top of dip and was given excuses, "this is how we do it. Gel is too hard to remove, that's why it took so long to take off your last set." The last set was done at the same salon, I said I didn't like the regular top coat because it flaked off. Not sure what this place was like before the pandemic but the quality is horrible. After I left I looked at my nails and I could already tell it was not going to last long. I just got a classic manicure with regular nail polish. The weirdest thing is she started the service and then told me to wash my hands go pay up front and then she will put on the polish..... Idk what that was about but they didn't do that with anyone else so I felt a little bit uncomfortable with that. They just told me to sit there and let my nails dry...no UV light. In addition, their chairs and stands have holes in them and are quite old. Definitely needs an upgrade. For $22 this was a waste of money and time. This salon is comparable to my nail salon in Memphis, price wise. The only thing I wish was available here is a mimosa or glass and of wine. My home salon has a full bar, I'm jus sayin'. Very friendly, clean and relaxing shop. They remove shellac & dip powder the correct way and do not rush the process. Annie takes her time with each client, with the integrity of the nail being her main priority. If you have chewed down, brittle broken nails Annie can help you grow them out. :) In response to the review who was upset that she had to wait to have her nails soak and be removed: this is the proper way to remove. Many shops will not care about the integrity of your nail & remove the dip or shellac the wrong way. I would rather be patient and have my nails in the best shape then to have them rush. Nirvana also does not use u.v lights to finish the dip powder, like some shops do. She also uses the best quality product. I highly recommend Nirvana to try dip powder, as it is rare to find a shop that does it correctly. Also, finding a friendly atmosphere is rare too. Pedicures are excellent here as well. Absolutely love this place. I highly recommend ANNIE for any acrylic work, also she's the only nail tech that does ombré work. I also recommend MIMI for pedicure work, she's just a sweetheart. I also suggest to call in ahead to check if they're busy instead of doing a "walk in" to avoid any inconvenience. Be sure to ask price before letting anyone work on you. Otherwise these guys are great! These guys only use solar nail brand for their acrylic; which is why they're a little pricier than most places. But you definitely get for what you pay for here. They are professional and honest (meaning when you ask if they have time for a service they say yes or ask you to return. No saying yes and having you sit for 30 min waiting like other shops). I got a shellac French tip 2 weeks ago. I've been going to the same salon for 3 years. After the second week, the French tip turned from white to yellow. I mentioned that something went wrong because usually that never happens. I was wlling to understand it was a one-off problem. I needed it fixed immediately. Not only did the salon deny any error on their behalf, but decided I should be charged an extra ten dollars. A shellac nail job usually last me about 21 days or more with perfect white French tip. The increasingly dodging-like defense from Nirvana staff and management was uncharacteristically awkward. It was just bad customer service. I now have to find another nail salon that I can trust. read more

Despite being a little pricier compared to places nearby, I feel they make up for it with a better quality service and experience. The salon is small, quiet and clean. I highly recommend calling ahead to make an appointment because they're definitely a popular nail salon. I opted for the royal pedicure and was super happy with the result. Unlike a lot of nail salons, they have all the nail polish colors painted on sample nails and displayed in a shadow box while youre seated - this was so much more convenient than the wall of polish you typically see. BEWARE DISABLED PERSONS!!!!!!!! Today I went to Nirvana Nail and Foot Spa for a pedicure. Three years ago I severed my spinal cord and had to undergo two major spinal cord surgeries. I am still recuperating from these surgeries and have a registered service dog to assist me with my balance issues. When I called Nirvana for my appointment, I advised them of my service dog and they said OK. When I was about three feet within the doorway of Nirvana, a female employee came running over to me and told me to take the dog outside. I told her that my dog was a service dog and even showed her my dog's service dog registration ID. She didn't care! She insisted that I leave with my dog and so I walked out. I told her that she was breaking a Federal Law (I am a retired attorney), and again she didn't care. After reading the other reviews on Yelp and seeing that their services are below standard, maybe I was lucky. By the way, I went to a different nail shop down the street from Nirvana and got my pedicure. At this other shop, they welcomed me and my service dog. read more

Awful! Reserved and had to "pay" a deposit for the 4 of us to do our nails at 5:00 one afternoon. We get there a little bit early just to check in. 5:00 comes around and they seat us. 3 of my friends did pedi and I wanted a mani. I'm sitting across from my friends as they got started. A few minutes passed and the owner comes over and noticed the lady who was supposed to do my mani was helping a walk-in customer instead. She said something to the lady and looked over at me "5 more minutes and someone will help you" I nodded and said that was fine. I waited and waited and still nobody comes abs help. I gave them the benefit and sat a little bit longer realizing it's been over 30 mins now. I stood up, told my friends I was going to wait outside and walked towards the door. The receptionist asked if anything was wrong...I couldn't hold it anymore and said I have been waiting for over 30 mins now when our reservation was at 5. My friends were already half way done and I haven't even gotten started. She again spoke to the owner and came back and said "can you wait another 15 minutes?" Of course I screamed F' NO, okay, I didn't scream those words but I wanted to. Haha As my friends were paying, the owner had the audacity to come apologize to me and said her employee thought she could squeeze a walk in customer before doing me because I came in 10 mins early. I have to be honest, this is the second attempt at coming to Nirvana. Our first pedi experience was lack luster due to the massage attention (I like real massages not effortless finger tip ones) and even my toes which I get gel were shaped oddly and inconsistent. The paint job wasn't that fantastic either. Overall just an expensive bummer ($45 not including tip which I normally throw a ten down). But the person I went with was happy all the way around with everything she had. So we thought we'd give it one more shot after all I have no problems speaking up and sharing my opinions and needs in a constructive and polite yet straightforward fashion. This time Nirvana redeemed themselves and this I let them know too! We both got even better treatment then what she had received the first time. My Mom got Amy who really honed in on her feet and even worked out some knots without being asked! My lady Mary although very attentive and focused, here came the massage and it was decent but "light" so I asked her to go harder and boy did she! Truly the worst place I've ever had my nails done. The people are nice and very friendly. However, I have found the quality of work just isn't there. I had my second set of nails done by the manager, not sure if she is the owner or not. Within a matter of days, almost every nail was lifting and my toe nail polish had already chipped off. I don't expose my hands to harsh chemicals or anything that would cause lifting. I feel like I'm entitled to a full refund for both services, but rather than expose myself that again, it's just not worth it. Due to the language barrier, I can't understand what they're saying, but I went in for a re-do of the first set, the woman who did them was in the salon and very upset. I have no clue what was said, which in my opinion, is wrong. My nails were redone at no charge but the quality is horrible. I'm soaking them in acetone and removing them myself. If I could call and explain what was wrong that would be one thing, but I will not subject myself to possible ridicule when what is happening is clearly not my fault. I am not the licensed nail technician; everyone in this salon is supposed to be. If you value your time and money, go elsewhere. I will not ever return. read more
