They had been great up until they were bought out by Go Auto, and for me, the service went rapidly downhill. (a tip... never take your vehicle to a shop that has it's service writers on commission.) After polling friends who were Volks Folks, the number 1 recommendation was Dubsport, so with a needed tune up looming, I paid a visit. Dubsport is just the sort of place I love. One guy running a bustling little shop, who offers excellent service and value, and is willing to answer your questions honestly. Richard was extremely helpful and accommodating, and did a wonderful job on the car. On a couple of occasions since, he has helped me with inquiries and minor issues quickly and painlessly, and I am now a diehard Dubsport fan. I recommend this spot highly, if you are suffering from dealership abuse, or you just love your Volkswagen / Audi and want someone who will treat it right.

With this and a bunch of other repairs the bill was much less than what any of the dealers wanted to charge me just for the turbo replacement. I have sent several friends there and they are nice enough to tell you ahead of time if it is worth it. A friends transmission was failing and he let her know how much the fix would cost and the fact that replacing the solenoid as it was saying would most probably not solve it and it would require a full trans replacement. So she could decide ahead of time that it was not worth it to start down that road on an old vehicle that the repairs would cost more than it would be worth. Dealers would have done the initial repair knowing that it would just have been pouring money into a hole.

So when the bunny's car had issues and needed some diagnosis and loving, she had trepidations, and I puffed up to help out and run interference (even though my hardware experience is centered around something many nanometers smaller than an oil dipstick). Neither of us needn't have worried. The staff at Ital Motors were reassuring on the phone, honored our Groupon, saw us the same day as the check engine light turned on, gave us advice and recommendations about not only the issue at hand but helpfully triaged the next needed repairs on the bunny's car. No pressure, no frisson of of sleazy, just well-communicated car love. Highly recommended.

Autobody shops aren't the kind of place you just wander into and think "hey, I should get some work…read moredone on my car." You go looking when it's necessary, but where do you go? We were referred to Balwin Collision by our insurer and we got lucky. All of our dealings with Balwin Collision were excellent. The manager was very friendly and helpful and helped us through the process in evaluating the damage to our car and getting it fixed. The work on our car was done quickly and everything looks better than before. I know the outside of a car has to be cleaned before painting any of it but our whole car looked like it had a new paint job. It looks great! The last thing I expected was for the car to be cleaned inside but the interior was spotless, even the trunk! I swear they had to have steam cleaned everything. For obvious reasons, I hope I never have to use Balwin Collision's services again, but it is Edmonton after all, so I just might. And if I do need an autobody shop again, I won't hesitate to call these guys.

I have been dealing with Tanzam since they were still on 51 Avenue. I was recommended to them by a…read morefriend, since I was coming back to the city after a long absence. Moez was a GEM! He went out of his way to make sure that I got excellent service and if he could save me some costs he had no problem recommending those procedures, parts, whatever. If something needed fixing, either Moez or Peter would show me (They knew my father was a mechanic. We lost Dad over a decade ago) what the problem was, and offer various solutions. So why the 3 rating? Moez is no longer there , nor is Tanzam Auto. And Peter is MIA too. Tanzam has been folded into M&M Auto on 63rd ave. Moez is semi-retired. The new group seems to be more concerned with lining their pockets than offering automotive service. Doomsday scenarios combined with unnecessary repairs and part replacement rather than offering the excellent serrvice I had come to expect with Moez. So the 3 rating is out of respect for Moez and Peter rather than from the service I have recieved from M&M. Tanzam WAS a 5. M&M, currently is a 1. You do the math.

Am I ever glad I did, they informed me that they were very busy however due to the fact it was the vehicle that the wife uses to deliver our children to and from school he'd get it in and start work immediately upon its arrival. Also he said it would be ready next day. I got it there, he did exactly what he said and more. They noticed the battery terminals were starting to corrode so they cleaned them, they noticed the block heater cord was frayed so they fixed that as well. Thumbs up to great service!!!! I will be a loyal customer as it is hard to find great service from friendly folks, Job well done, Tanzam job well done!

They are genuinely not happy until you are. Clear explainations of problems, careful tracking of your vehicle history, friendly and skilled staff, willingness to refer you if someone else could do a job cheaper/faster/better. They are particulary good at recommending the cheapest effective options. Once the solution was to hit a part with a wrench; it worked, and they charged me nothing. On a couple of occasions where repairs were not spot-on, they fixed the problem without hesitation. Case in point: I had a starter that chronically failed over a few years. I only paid for it once, but they replaced it and found the root cause of the problem. You owe it to yourself to check them out.
