Rose is exceptional! If I could give her 10 stars, I would. I am a Black woman with a Blacks son, and her customer service was top notch as was the quality of her work as well. I found her on Yelp and called her for same day alterations to my son's suit pants that were way too big in the waste and too long. She is by appointment only and was extremely busy with prom and graduation season, but she was very willing to help us and was very engaging and friendly. On Wednesday, 5/17/23, we arrived at 4:20pm, and she didn't make us feel rushed or like we were inconveniencing her. She shared how she is also a mom and could understand the situation I was in with trying to get my son right for graduation. She stayed after hours to complete the alteration so my son's suit pants would fit for his high school graduation the next morning. We picked up his completed pants from Rose at about 7pm the same day. The alterations were very well done, and my son looked great in his suit for graduation the next morning. My girlfriend needed her son's graduation outfit altered at this business. However, during the visit, Rose was extremely dismissive, nasty, and hostile towards her. She was approached in such a startling way that I had no choice but to believe that Rose is flat out anti-Black just like a lot of Korean business owners in my home state of California. This is a common behavior trait that Koreans, who are anti-Black, display towards Black Americans. Rose never showed a shred of professionalism, something that is always requirred when running your business(es). read more

Rose is a very busy lady! If you get a chance to become a new customer, you'll understand why. She operates out of three shops so she just might be in a different location for emergency alterations. Be patient or see if you can go to where she is. It's not just the blessings she does in her craft. It's the person she is! Our first time here required of course, the drop off and the pickup/fitting. Everything was perfect(the first time) if you see anything wrong, (which we didn't) it's important that you say something and I'm sure it will be done right away! We decided we didn't like the buttons at pickup and she quickly changed them, even though they were the buttons that originally came on the garment and weren't part of our original plan! I'm a flight attendant and our standard uniform is meant to fit all shapes but I like for my uniform to fit my body and Rose gets it right! WHERE DO THEY DO THAT AT? Poor customer service at Alterations by Rose. A friend recommended this small business and said only great things about the quality of workmanship. I stopped by on Saturday around noon with a few items. The business hours are posted that says open on Saturdays from 10am-7am and closed on Sundays. The store front was not open but had a sign on the door stating they would be back. I ran a few errands and came back around 2pm and the sign on the front door was still posted that they would be right back. I called the number and a lady answered and told me they were closed but would be open on Sunday. I questioned the statement by stating the business hours posted says closed Sundays. She stated she had so many customers needed work she was going to open at 11am. She then offered to call me in the morning. I didn't hear from her the following morning at 11am like she said so I went to the grocery store and showed up on Sunday at 11:50 (close to an hour after she told me they would be open) and found that same sad sign posted on the door stating they will be right back. I called the number again and the lady said she was at lunch sitting in a restaurant and would call me back when she arrives to open the shop. What type of business practices is that? I'd be careful using this business if you need same day service or a quick turnaround time since they do not adhere to their posted business hours. read more

This use to be my #1 place to go for all of my alterations. However it is no longer, my most recent visit was WEIRD to say the least. Rose has always for the most part been ok. I won't say she's the most pleasant but ok. But this last visit she was very dismissal, rude, aggressive, and hostel...I was so taken back at her approach with me, that i was speechless. She seemed overwhelmed by whatever she may have/had going on with her but no matter what, when running a business you must always stay professional. Something she did not display.
