I will forever be coming back to this place for any leather alterations. I got a $900 leather…read morejacket and the fit was perfect except for the sleeves which were a couple of inches too long. I searched the internet for the best leather alteration businesses. I went to some to ask if they could do the job on this type of leather (roughout leather) and they gave me the "hmmm... yea I could do it" and charged a large number. One place even quoted me $135... San Diego Sewing Concepts was 4th on my list and when I showed up Armando helped me out. When I asked if he could do the job, he did not hesitate for a second and said he absolutely could and has years of experience with leather. It's a small business but Armando's expertise and his explanation of how he'd do the work gave me confidence that I was in the right place. As I wore the jacket, he adjusted the sleeve, measured, made sure I liked the length, and marked with chalk. He quoted me a very reasonable price, and that was the amount I paid in the end. Armando finished the job in 2-3 days. When I returned to pick up my jacket I was sooooo happy with the result! It was perfect. He shortened the sleeves by exactly 2.25 inches, as he had measured initially. I inspected the sleeves and there was no noticeable ugly markings or indication that it had been altered. I ended up purchasing the jacket in a another color and brought it here to get the same job done. Once again, Armando delivered, a quick and flawless job!

He is very communicative by phone and text, reasonable with pricing, and excellent with alterations. Shoot him a text or call, you will be a customer for life.

I will likely try a business shop vs home shop next time. I called multiple times and arranged for a fitting to alter two jackets. First Don said he was available the next day and to call back. I did and arranged to stop by, kept asking for the address, and finally he gave it to me, but called back later and ask I stop by later that day. When I tried again in the afternoon, he gave me an address and said his sister is helping him and will meet with me. Went to the home and the man introduced himself as Don so I was so confused. He said a business partner is sending him leadals, maybe that is Don? The woman (Loan) was very sweet who did my alterations. Anyway, whoever I ended up being sent to was ok but it wasnt Don and cant find her listing to leave a review there. Leaving this here so others are aware they may be sent elsewhere instead of Don. The alterations for 2 jackets were ok. One jacket was perfect but the other was looser and not quite as tailored. Price was cheaper than standard so I was not too upset, you get what you pay for.

ATTENTION ALL NAVY PERSONNEL…read more If you're looking for another embroidery, alteration, and dry cleaning spot this is the place to go. It is relatively a little cheaper than doing at the uniform shop and definitely save you some time. I've been going here throughout my naval career to get my uniform stitched and dry clean whatever I need. They will also starch your neckerchief and tie it for you. The owner of the shop is a retired senior chief. Him and his wife are very friendly and will help you with any questions.

I'm very…read moresurprised at how badly they messed up sewing two NWU uniforms when the owner prides himself that they've been taking care of military since the eighties. They sewed my rank devices in two very obviously different sizes, as well as sewing both my pockets shut, not to mention the name tape and my Surface Warfare tape were sewn very sloppily. Oh, and I forgot to mention the sewn in extra piece of material on the inside. The shop is out of my way, and when I tried picking my uniforms up the first time, I obviously had to leave them to be fixed. The woman who works the counter tried giving me the phone number of the employee that sewed my uniforms. I said I don't want to talk with your employee, I want my uniforms fixed. It took another two days and more of my time and gas money to get my uniforms done right. No mention of a discount or even a refund. Bad customer service and terrible business sense. Very disappointed. Lost me as a customer forever, and I hope you think twice about having this chop shop sew any military uniforms of yours either.
