Great pricing. I went to 2 other tailor shops for an estimate to alter 2 bridesmaids dresses. This shop had very fair pricing, so I went with Hector. I have to knock off 1 star though because I had told him I didn't need the dresses back for a couple of weeks. He told me they would be ready the following week on a specific day. I received a text day of stating they needed 1 more day, which was fine since I wasn't planning to pick them up that day anyway. The day after, I came by mid morning and my dresses weren't ready yet, which was very frustrating because they told me to come by anytime. I went to run an errand nearby and came back. The hemming was perfect but unfortunately the shoulders on one of the dresses is still loose, but it's good enough. I'll still be back here for all my future alterations! read more

Recently took my Alice bomber jacket to Blanca's Alteration Shop on Broadway, and I couldn't be happier with the results. I dropped it off on 03/13 and picked it up today--overall a quick and smooth turnaround. Hector assisted me throughout the process and made everything easy from start to finish. I had the body length of the jacket cropped by about two inches, which also required adjusting the zipper. The stitching came out incredibly clean and looks professional--you honestly can't even tell it was altered. On top of that, the price for the service was very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the work. I left completely satisfied and will definitely be coming back for future alterations. My girlfriend dropped off 4 pairs of pants on a Tuesday (5/19) for a hem to 28 inches. She was told they could be ready for picking during the weekend but we insisted that we could pick it up on Monday (5/25) since I didn't have time to pick it up until then. I arrive at 1pm on Monday as promised, and the gentleman barely greets me and almost seems to be surprised that I'm there. He tells me that it's not ready and it's for pickup at 5pm. I tell him no, we were told 1pm. He visibly seems slightly annoyed and tells me he can do 3pm, later switching to 2pm based on my reaction. I pick up my pants at 2pm and am disappointed to see the quality of work. The hemming was visibly rushed. I thought I could trust the shop based on the reviews and spent $80, but was met with disappointment and sloppy work. read more

I'm a larger guy, right in between regular retail stores and big+tall stores, and I've only been able to find shirts that are too big for me or too small. I am so thankful to Hector and Blanca's tailor shop. I came in about 3 weeks before my wedding, frantic because my original tailor had an emergency and stopped taking clients. I needed my wedding dress taken in and hemmed, but was worried because my dress had a lot of intricate lace and was very expensive, so I was nervous handing it over. Hector was so kind and knew exactly what to do. He even added extra boning into the corset/bodice to give extra support! He also added cups because I couldn't find a bra to work with my dress. Not only did he hem my dress to the perfect length, but he also readjusted my bustle to be at a more realistic height and not drag on the ground as much. He was able to get all of this done in about 2 weeks and for a very reasonable price for everything he did. I engaged him to create and attach a dramatic Marilyn Monroe/Madonna bow with floor length tails to a pink satin gown I wore to my legacy 1980s themed birthday party. Two other tailors passed on the job finding it too complicated and not having the confidence to execute it well. Hector worked with me to get it just the right size that created the drama I was seeking. He also had to fit the gown which was too large, and line the pink satin bow and tails with black satin. I asked for a quote on Yelp and this business responded to me right away with the quote. The response was great and customer service was perfect. We took 3 pairs of men's pants in for new hems. There is a fitting room for customers to change into the clothing in order for the alterations and tailor measurements. The shop is setup very professionally and it is clean. Hector handled our measurements and the pants hemming. He gave us a ticket for pickup and the date of the pickup. On pickup day I called because I was running late. Hector was very understanding. I arrived and the pants were very well hemmed. I paid him and also requested a new service for my women's suit jacket that has a hole in it. He looked at the suit jacket and told me he could mend it. The customer service here is perfect. They also offer same day alterations for a little more, which is very worth it. I have found my new tailor in San Diego! I sent them a photo of a tear of the collar lining that happened on a delicate Filipinia bolero that was made in the Philippines. I brought it over and the tailor Hector said he was able to fix it and said that the neckline may be shorter. I was totally fine with that.
