First came in for measurements. Wasn't a bad experience, but also not very friendly. Today coming in for alterations. The entire time she complained about how much work it was for her in the time frame and unfortunately the cost was out of my price range. When coming back inside to get my dress back she removed the pins and basically threw the dress back at me. Dress bad, open, hanger and dress rolled up. Very unfriendly. read more

I've been going to Alterations Inc for over a year. The first visit I needed a quick turnaround. At that time she said she would need to charge me a little more for the expedited service. I agreed. But every alteration since has increased. Pricing seems to depend on the customer at the time. I highly don't recommend. I won't be using her services going forward. I'm giving 3 stars because clothes were done on time and alterations were made. Here's why 3 stars is a little generous: There is more than one method to tailor a coat or hem slacks. I paid custom tailor prices. The methods were dry cleaner prices. I paid steak prices and got a hamburger. Side note for men: At least once in your life, get a suit fit to you. Sorry I can't say I would recommend this place. The seamstress was not friendly with me when I first came in. I opened the seam myself the saaammmeee way it was stitched and apparently this created a really complicating costly problem? $35 to put a elastic band inside and sew it right back together. This took weeks... and when I came in to pick it up on the day I was told they didn't even start on it, it was just hanging in the back behind a few other things. Sorry but no excuse for this for how long I waited and you had me pay in advance. And the seamstress was only nice with me now because they where in the wrong. I should have had them refund me and just take it elsewhere. I'm not happy with the work, it looks rushed, the seam is crooked, some of the fabric looks damaged and the elastic essentially does nothing rather then give the band shape. The elastic doesn't have stretch to it because it's circumference is the same measurement as the pants. read more

Disappointed. Paid what was in my opinion too much to get a simple 2x3" patch sewed onto a knapsack. No problem though, I accepted the quote so fine. But when I picked it up it was off-center! I mean seriously. This was about the simplest job a professional seamstress could do, and they did it wrong! What's more, they had the gall to begin to deny that it even WAS off-center. As if it wasn't clear enough visually, I was forced to prove it with a tape measure. It was only then that they offered to redo it. So now I have twice as many pinholes in my knapsack but at least the patch I wanted on there doesn't look lopsided. I really don't know if I'd trust them to do something more expensive or more risky (for example, involving cutting). I'd be looking elsewhere for my next sewing task, big or small. read more

Don't go here!!! The pricing or what their services are isn't even listed to the visible eye and the customer service was HORRIBLE!! I didn't realize that just hemming and cutting a piece of fabric would cost me $89! Just fixing the neck strap of my gown cost me $30 alone and when I said I didn't want that done the lady at the front desk (AFTER she took my money) got a really nasty attitude with me. Personally they should have broken down the cost and explained to me why they are charging me X, Y and Z BEFORE taking my money. After a two week period I went back and picked up my dress, and the lady that "helped" didn't even bother to ask if my dress was fixed to my satisfaction. She also forgot to give me back the fabric that I purchased! In a nutshell, I had a horrible experience and would never recommend this place to anyone! I highly recommend this place for any of your alteration needs. They have done an amazing job on all my suits that I have brought in. The service is friendly and the staff seems pretty knowledgeable about just about everything pertaining to alterations. They do not not take credit cards, only cash and debit I believe ( possibly checks, I can't remember but honestly, why are you still paying by check?) If you need something altered I can't imagine you finding a better place in the valley then Alterations Inc! read more

I usually do not post bad reviews but I decided to do so here as I do not want other frustrated customer to have my experience. I have no experience with tailoring wedding dresses, women clothes and for hemming pants. My experience is strictly limited to the following: I had the misfortune to use their service to tailor fit my brand new Hugo Boss and Calvin Klein blazers (Top part of my suits). I called and they told me in general 40 to 50 $ will be OK to tailor a jacket. I went in and they seemed to careless that they had a customer. Once I finally got their attention, they measured me and told me how complex was the task. They had to make major changes and therefore needed to open the suit from top to bottom. Then they presented me the bill of 75$ per suit + 10$ as I needed the suit in 10 days. To avoid paying that extra 10$ per item, I had to wait a minimum of 15 days!!! Then they made me pay in advance which I found strange, but I agreed. When I came to pick up the Blazers - it seemed like they transformed them into a Women's dress. The back of my suit simply opened and seemed like I had something on the bottom of my spine raising the suit up. I asked why this was like this, they responded it was my fault as I requested a slim fit tailor thus they had to make it tight on the waist and the result was the back part of the suit would like like that. I overpaid for this alteration, plus they made my jacket look ridiculous and thus ruined a very expensive investment I made and still put the blame on me!!!!??? I do speak Spanish and I heard the lady say: "Who did this jobs?!" to someone inside their little office so she knew the job was badly done. Of course she couldn't do anything as the suit was already cut and they were ruined... For all men out there thinking to tailor a suit, jacket, etc... I strongly recommend to stay away from this store. I wish I had never stepped into this place... Now I only tailor my suit to places where my work colleagues have been and trust the place 100%. I ruined several hundreds of dollars and I will never make the same mistake again! I learned my lesson. Do not do the same mistake as I did. I read more

I got a few curtains hemmed and a couch cushion cover fixed as well recently. They did a great job with everything and the price wasn't bad. I will say they are very unorganized. When I walked in there was one lady there that could not help me so I had to sit and wait a good 15 minutes until someone else got there to help. She was frazzled and her system was strange so I was a little worried giving her my items afraid I would not get them back. She said she would call me when they were fished and should take about a week. After 2 weeks I finally called her and asked how everything was coming along and she said they were done and waiting. So I would say they need an assistant or something to help them get the little things together. BUT they did do some really good work! read more

I just went there to have my bridesmaids dress altered. After being there for 45 minutes--they were nice and helpful. So I decided to go for it. They quoted me $170 to alter it. Let that sink in. I only paid $120 for the dress, and told her that. She just stared at me and asked what I wanted to do--I mean they were giving me$10 off!! I said I couldn't pay that, as I teared up. They were able to make it one size bigger when I wasn't sure if it could be done. They also replaced the belt with a new one that I had purchased. I brought several shirts and pants into here to get some buttons replaced 7 total I think. Would have done it myself but everytime I try it never holds. They are reasonably priced $1 for ones with spare buttons and $3 for new buttons. The workmanship was good and $17 was cheaper than what any one garment would have cost me to replace. I didn't need them in a rush so it was nice to just drop them off and pick up when it was easy for me. read more

I bought a ready-to-wear wedding dress that was several sizes too big and had a little wear and tear on it. Alterations Inc. did a fantastic job of altering it and cleaning it up for me. I added a French bustle with 5 ties to my long train, had some wear and tear spots fixed, took in several inches on each side of the bodice, and had a few designs removed from the bodice. I also had the dress cleaned. I felt like the price was slightly less than I expected based on online research (maybe $50 less) and the work done was excellent. Everyone loved the dress and the alterations made it fit me beautifully! Plus this was all done in 3 weeks, with no rush put on the order. I recommend Alterations Inc. whole-heartedly! read more

Unfortunately, I brought my clothing in just before prom so it was pretty hectic. However, the woman managing the store front did nothing but magnify the stress. Every time I had an encounter with her (whether by phone or in person) she was noticeably tense. I brought in two dresses to be taken in, two pairs of pants (to be hemmed/patched), and a pair of jean shorts that needed a new zipper. With the 10% off coupon my total came out to about $120 with a $30 rush fee (so I could get my clothes before the two weeks she said they needed). I realize well fitting clothes are worth their weight in gold so I ponied up the cash without a fuss. I called 4 days before I was leaving to go out of town to request a pickup the night before schedule. I figured... what's a few hours earlier since I was to be in at 10am the next morning. She said no problem. When I arrived one item was still not completed and she suggest I come back in the morning. That completely negated the point of me calling for EARLY pickup. I told her it must be done today. So I leave in 5 o'clock traffic and have to return before 6:30. I called on my way back to say I would be a minute or two late due to an accident, but was on my way. She proceeded to get an attitude about having to wait. If she had my order ready when promised I wouldn't have been rushing around and she wouldn't have had to stay late. This place is a rip-off. $95 to take in 3 pairs of pants in the waist and butt. The only reason I had it done was because I needed the pants. I have never paid more than $20 per pants to have the waist and butt taken in and the seamstress I had before I moved here was impeccable.. Not only that, but it took 2 weeks to get it done. Whether I buy my clothes in Ohio, Phoenix, New York, or Los Angeles I've never managed to find a suit that fits me off the rack - 6'2", 42R, with a 32" waist and 33" inseam just isn't something that designers tailor to these days - and as such it is important to me to have a good alterations company nearby - something I found with the ladies at Alterations Inc. Like most skilled trades, whether it be mechanical or electronic or (in this case) fabric there is certainly a "get what you pay for" aspect and although prices here are a bit higher than average they did a great job with both an old pair of jeans that needed a repair and an Etro suit whose pant legs required finishing. Friendly and helpful but with variable hours you're best off calling ahead but once you get your clothing in their hands you can rest assured the results will be good. read more

I will never again step foot in that store under any circumstances. I walked in with what I figured to be an easy job for them. When I walked through the door, a bell went off, informing them that a customer has entered. I waited at the counter for a bit. Sat down for a bit longer. Went back to the counter where I could hear two women speaking to each other, but not coming to the front desk. I even purposely moved in front of the security camera so that they could see me from the back room. Nope. Still nothing. I walked out in disgust after 10 minutes and when I got in my car, which was parked RIGHT in front of the store window, they STILL hadn't come out to even see who was waiting. And the front door bell had gone off again when I left. I would never recommend this place to anyone, unless they felt like standing around and being ignored. read more

I had a pleasant experience here. I took two skirts in to get hemmed and a pair of slacks that needed some buttons sewn on. I was greeted as soon as I walked in. The seamstress that assisted me was courteous. She did mention they only take cash and that they preferred the balance paid up front. I only had half of the money needed but they said I could pay the rest when I came back to pick up my clothes. My alterations took one week and I was pleased with the work that was done. I will not go back to this small business. I had many, over 15 pairs of works pants hemmed at Alterations Inc. Some pants had cuff hems that when I would wear them to work the hem would flop over the side. They were poorly hemmed and I paid over $18 each for those to be done correctly. I returned to have these fixed and I was told they would be done by Wed. I called the store before heading over thereto pick up my items. The office person Lorna took my call placed me on hold then hung up on me. After calling back, I hear a dial tone again; these actions were repeated two more times. Finally, I get her on the phone to have her tell me she'd call me back. "She has customers out the door." What am I? only a customer she felt justified to hang up on repeatedly. I flat out stated I was going to pick up my items. She said that the work was not done by their business so they would not honor the re-hemming, but would charge me an additional $10 for each. Poor-Poor service, Lorna. I will not be returning. Moreover, Lorna-please do not hang up on your customer...that is rude and inconsiderate. I do know my consumer bill of rights! We bought a dress for our daughter and it was too big. Disney didn't have a smaller size and we got it at a good price. My husband took her here as he has used them before and they did a beautiful job. The dress fits her perfectly now and looks so nice! I would definitely use them again. I took in 3 items and was charged $60 for the work I wanted done. I did not receive satisfactory work on any of the 3 garments One one shirt, I was charged $35 and was told the bunching on the shoulders would remain after the alteration and that was the reason for the expense. The bunching is no longer on the shoulders. On my jeans, I asked for the original hem and when I got them back, they were just cut and resewn, no original hem. When I inquired about it, I was told there wasn't a difference in the original hem and the pant leg and that the to have the original hem sewn on would have been $25. First of all, if there is no difference, why would there be a different charge. Second, had I been told that, I would have paid for it. As it stands now, the pants are not what I wanted. On a skirt, I just needed a seam resewn. It appears it was done in quite a hurry as now the material is puckered where it was resewn. I have taken items to the tailor many times and have never encountered such shoddy workmanship. I would have expected more from a company that calls themselves, Alterations, Inc. read more
