Josh helped my two friends and I out when we just walked in and asked to get some tattoos, and he was super flexible and easy going. We each wanted to get 3 tattoos but josh couldn't fit us all in the day we walked in, however, he made time the next day to finish us up :) He was quick and precise, the pieces we wanted who pretty small and detailed. I had the basic ear lobe piercing done here. I had a piercing decades ago that had closed up. I asked for it to be re-pierced at the same spot. She ended up piercing another hole right next to it. Kind of annoying when I'm trying to put in an earring since one goes through and the other doesn't so it's basically trial and error every time. But she was professional enough and she did a good job sanitizing everything. She only pierces with hoops. It was $70 for a set of piercings with the hoops. I went back trying to special order jewelry. She gave me the catalogues, I took time picking them out, then she ghosted me. I found a different shop for my next piercings. read more

Alternative Arts is the only studio I will go to in the metro Denver area (and I have been tattooed at many of the other places in town). Fritz (the owner) really knows what he is doing and listens/works with his clients. His daughter works the front area and is also an aspiring artist (UPDATE - she is tattooing now and her work looks phenomenal!). Fritz is great with Eastern (Asian) designs, but can work in other disciplines as well. The shop is extremely clean and professional. Fritz does only work off appointments (for tattooing) and offers custom work and competitive prices. I highly recommend!! read more

When he said we could combine two elements, a barcode/numeral setup and a logo design, I did not imagine how fabulous it could turn out. He took his time and made the design when I got there for the 1pm appointment. Probably 30 minutes is all it took him to come up with it. Putting the ink took an hour. This place is awesome! Very clean and the artists are great! Aaron Flores is super artistic and very detailed and wants every tattoo to be a masterpiece, big or small. He came up with several ideas for my 1/2 sleeve that I never would have thought of and it made the piece SOO much better. Scheduled tattoo for my left side to fix old tattoo and in compass new one as well. He was patient with me as I went through the stencil process changing my mind frequently. I decided to fulfill a dream of some piercings. I will say the store is very clean and I was helped right away. My grump is I had an issue with one of the piercings, and went in a few days later to try to get a larger stud as I was concerned the current one would pull through. Was told I had the "only" size they had, and that was the standard size for the piercing (I find that hard to believe as I have friends who had larger, from different shops). Sure enough, about 3 days later the piercing pulled itself out due to swelling. Of course the hole immediately closed and now I'm stuck waiting for it to heal enough to go somewhere else to get it done again. Not impressed as I wasted time and money, and I went in and expressed my concern of this very thing happening before it actually did, and felt like I was basically blown off. read more

I have had two piercings done here; my Tragus and my forward helix. The first piercing was great but the second time traumatized me. After having it freshly pierced the lady told me she had to go back through and do it again. I don't know if this is normal for piercings but it was an awful experience because the first time through was painful enough. I don't think I would want to go through this experience again for future piercings. read more

Had Fritz (the owner) do a medium sized tattoo that I had drawn on my back here. He made the modifications to my drawing that I asked for very nicely, adding a rose to my stylized ankh. I asked for 2 colors and got three (one for free) because he said he thought the rose would look better with a bright red outline then one solid color. It looks great, and the work has stayed nice since, he uses quality ink. The work was a fair price. read more

I have been a customer of the studio owner Fritz's for about 12 years. He is an extremely talented, patient and meticulous artist. He is very passionate about his work and it shows in his artwork and beautiful tattoos. He listens to his clients needs and can work in and produce many different styles of artwork. He can create beautiful custom artwork or work from the pieces clients bring in. I have over 20 tattoos that Fritz has done and am constantly receiving compliments on them. He is currently working on a full sleeve for me and I could not have asked for a better artist to do my tattoo work. I currently live about 65 miles from the studio and would not go to any other place for my tattoo work. The studio is always very clean and the staff is very professional. I have also had work done by Fritz's daughter Brandilyn, another artist in the shop. Brandilyn is just as amazing as her dad and has a truly unique style. Emily, the studio piercer is also very talented, professional and compassionate. Went here as soon as I turned 18, because it was close to home and I was uneducated. I should've done more research. I got my belly button pierced, and didn't wait long, and the piercer was nice. But my belly button ring actually looks crooked, and I was charged $80. And me being a child, and this being my first piercing other than my ears, I thought that was a reasonable price.
