We saw the billboard on 316 for Snellville Heating and Air and decided to give it a go. Joe came by about thirty minutes after the initial phone call, and you could tell right away this was a man who knew what he was doing. He checked everything out and then, the first company to do so, sat down with us to go over everything in detail. He quoted us the best price we'd received and didn't once try to upsell us. He showed us all the certifications that their workers have which put our mind at ease. A week later (and only that long because we weren't home the other days) we had an entirely new HVAC system installed by two hardworking guys. I will say the monthly financing price we got was not ideal for us. I'm not naive, but the whole reason we called in the first place was the monthly financing offer of $50 on the billboard. So that was a bit disappointing, but the overall cost was the lowest quote we'd received so we went with it. Plus, we have ten year warranty on the new system, and a year's servicing. Not to mention the security of knowing we have an honest company working this for us. We really appreciated the service we received after almost two months of a broken HVAC system and companies trying to scam us. I recommend Snellville Heating and Air to anyone looking.

This company was recently bought by Air Georgia. We have two separate systems, one which provides…read moreair conditioning/heat in the main area of the house which is a gas furnace/air conditioner and a heat pump which provides air conditioning/heat to the top floor and a room adjacent to the house. One week in August, the two rooms controlled by the heat pump, began to read in the high 80's. We notified Snellville Heating, Air & Plumbing as we had a maintenance contract with them. They responded promptly and told us something may have been jarred in the air handler zone control board. They only charged us the service fee of $79.95. When they were here the rooms became cooler, however, within hours the rooms returned to temperatures in the mid-eighties and we had to have them back that same day. They then told us refrigerant was needed and they added 1 1/2 pounds of refrigerant for a cost of $150. The next day the temperature in these two rooms again returned to the mid-eighties. Snellville Heating, Air and Plumbing returned that day and said they replaced an electric shut-off switch in the condenser and there was no charge. We thought the problem was fixed but the temperature rose to the mid-eighties the next day. Snellville Heating, Air and Plumbing returned that same day and then said the Condenser Computer Board was malfunctioning and needed to be replaced at a cost of $495. The part was unavailable until the next day at which time they replaced the Board. However, within 2 days, the temperatures again rose to the mid-eighties. A fifth visit was made and this technician told us the problem was a leaky heat pump in the condenser coil and said this needed to be replaced with just a part or a new system was recommended since our current system was ten years old. They quoted at a cost of over $13,000 for a new system. At this time they gave us complimentary refrigerant to keep the room cool while we made a final decision to replace the part or the whole system. We lost all confidence in Snellville's competence in diagnosing our HVAC issues as it took 5 TECHNICIANS coming out multiple days in a row before the correct assessment of the problem was made. We asked management for a cancellation and reimbursement for our second maintenance visit, which the did. However, they refused to reimburse us for the $495 fee for the Condenser Computer Board stating we approved the work to be done. REALLY!!! My response was that as 70+ year olds we TRUSTED the technician that was the issue but in reality we had a LEAK, only identified on the 5TH VISIT and we were due a reimbursement which they REPEATEDLY DENIED. We are not HVAC knowledgeable but in retrospect, shouldn't the need for refrigerant added on the second visit be a "sign" there might have been a leak? They said they were offering a 10% discount on a new system and an upgrade to a higher grade system at no additional charge and that was their compensation. My response was we had lost ALL CONFIDENCE with them and would NOT be using them for a new system. If it took 5 VISITS BEFORE the proper diagnosis was made how could we TRUST them to properly install a new system and maintain it. Additionally, that $495 Condenser Board was of no use to us since we bought a new system from another HVAC company who did CONFIRM on their initial visit there was a leak. This has been a most regrettable situation which has caused us much angst as senior citizens. As a side note, we were told the owner was aware of our dilemma but he never personally called us which we expected given our level of concern.

That is the complete opposite of my experience with Blue Moon Electric. Ed and his crew were not only responsive from day one, but went out of their way to help when an after work problem arose. During install of a generator at our home, the other independent contractor we were working with was non responsive and ended up not coming when they were supposed to install the gas line. Ed got in touch with them and organized them to come to finish the project the next day. The Blue Moon crew was kind, insanely helpful and even when it was not expected acted as the foreman for another contractor. Their price quote was very competitive, as most other contractors quoted us $2,000-$15,000 more than what we paid. All things considered I would have paid that extra amount for the work Blue Moon Electric did. Overall I highly recommend Blue Moon Electric to anyone in the greater Athens area looking for an electrician for a small or a big project!

The services described in the provided service agreement were not done. the agreement says "Ductwork: Check for air leaks, and seal ducts." AND also " Insulation: Inspect and maintain insulation on ducts and refrigerant lines." These items were not done. When I called to talk about it the manager or whoever I talked to kept asking if I told him about a problem and That he looked at the ductwork at the inside unit. There is NO ductwork at the inside unit. There is a plenum which goes into the attic where the ductwork is. There was insulation missing on the chilled supply line from the exterior AC unit. That was not repaired. And he never looked at the ductwork at all and it was in need of repair. She kept arguing, talking over me! that he had done everything and that the ductwork was not included and saying he had done everything. So she just deleted the invoice.Now they can probably claim that this review is fake. It is not. They were very unpleasant

Using Yelp, and its star reviews, I selected family-owned Sandfield Air Systems. My wife and I are in our 80s and enjoying the quiet life of retirement. Brett was our service technician and after patiently listening to my telling him how to do his job, assured me our thermostat was not likely the problem, but just a symptom. He demonstrated how over time the system's humidity drain becomes blocked and in doing so, can trip it's overflow cutoff switch, thereby shutting the entire system down thereby avoiding flooding of the attic and everything below. Finally a technician that not only knows his business, but can educate customers about system operations well enough to minimize future occurrences. Equally important, he explained more about the functionality of our system and the optimum settings for ongoing creature comfort. Beautiful, I signed up for their semi-annual maintenance inspections and can now rest assured our home and it's largest mechanical system is in good hands. Thanks Brett, you did good. I installed a new Ecobee Wi-Fi thermostat myself. Wasn't sure it was wired/set correctly with…read moresettings. Called Stanfield yesterday and they had a technician come out today. My tech was Ashton Hill. Seemed VERY knowledgeable about the Wi-Fi thermostat and it's settings. He went through it completely, as well as going into the crawlspace to inspect the air handler and the auxiliary heater. Everything is working now as it should. Thanks again Ashton!
