I have to say this is "As good as it gets!". This company was incredible from start to finish. They had come recommended by someone and I am so happy I called them. After dealing with several other companies I can honestly say Georgia Spec is hands down the best. I called and Phil came out, he explained exactly what I needed and the best options to accomplish that. He was so knowledgeable, and took his time walking me through everything. No pressure to get a sale just honest straight talk. I had them replace the cooling unit in the crawl space under the house. They removed the old unit, relocated the new to where it should have been and put a more efficient duct system coming off the unit. The crew was just as knowledgeable and professional as Phil. Called Georgia Spec after one of our thermostats went "blank" and the a/c stopped working. Phil, the owner, took my call. I told him we had replaced the thermostat but still no air. He made an appointment for the following day, and arrived promptly. Diagnosed our problem and solved it quickly and made sure to explain the situation fully. The next day we scheduled another routine service/maintenance visit to ensure all 4 of our units were in good working order. Phil found several issues with our other units...things that had been done incorrectly by other installers or service techs before we purchased the house. He showed us ALL of the isdues and walked us through an explanation of what needed to be done. Even a novice (me) could understand his explanations and I'm convinced he fixed some things that could have led to serious problems if left unattended. Georgia Spec will be back in the fall to check our heat pumps! The cost was very reasonable considering what needed to be done and the amount of time it took. I hired GeorgiaSpec to redo my HVAC ducts. I had paid Dickens HVAC to replace all the ducts because I was not getting any heat in half my home. I paid them for the job and I still had no heat in half the home. I called and texted them for months with no reply. I hired GeorgiaSpec and they came in and replaced all the ducts, fixed the air flow problems, fixed the problems with the new HVAC that Dickens could not get to run properly and Dickens had installed the system. I will have no other HVAC company to work on my system but GeorgiaSpec. They charged me less than what I paid Dickens. They are honest, reliable, and offer quality service. Phil went beyond what I hired to have done. He spent hours on fixing my HVAC system which never worked properly. I am very pleased with everything about my experience with Georgia Spec. Phil (the owner) is extremely knowledgeable and is determined to only do everything one way - the right way. I had another company quote replacing my old heat pump, but I thought the price was high, so I had Phil come give me an estimate. The first thing he did was to check my house for the vents and returns and total area and advised that I needed two more returns to be properly efficient. Not only did he quote a larger system than the other company (who just looked at my old system and quoted a similar one), but he included the additional returns and still was cheaper. The installers were very professional and did a great install, and now I have the correct system for my house and i'm more comfortable than ever before. The technicians are not only smart and know AC systems better than most people know the alphabet, but they work harder than a group of Amish folks putting up a barn with winter nipping at their heals. I made a call on a Saturday morning at 7 am after sweating myself to sleep in July, and Georgia Spec was at my house within 2 1/2 hours. After figuring out a nutless monkey installed my A/C unit before I lived there, he was able to diagnose the issues, and have my A/C pumping ICE COLD. Home Inspections: From start to finish Georgia Spec. was exceptional. I was worried about finding someone who we could trust with our home inspection not knowing anyone in the industry. Throughout the whole process we were treated like they had known us for years. Our HVAC unit stopped working in the 90+ degree weather. Due to the age, condition, and placement of the system, we decided to remove the old system from our crawl space to the attic. I contacted Georgia Spec because of the current Yelp reviews. Phil the owner came to our home the same day that I contacted him. He spent 1+ hours in my home going through every room, along with the attic space. He did his calculations, and sent me an estimate the same evening. We hired them to complete the installation. They installed a quality system (Rheem). With a licensed electrician on staff, the installation of a complete HVAC system took one and one half days (our home is 2400 sq feet). I've called Phil several times over the last couple of years. He is always professional and responsive. I'm sure like most people we call when there is a crisis. This last time the heat was not working and it was going to be 37 degrees that night. Unfortunately the unit was shot but he told us to use the emergency heat and we had him replace the unit as soon as he got the parts.
