Professional, quality, quick, and caring -- these are the four adjectives I'd use to describe Fidel and his team. I originally requested a quote from Fidel over a month ago, but wasn't able to put in an order until this week. Fidel was extremely responsive answering every question I had and was able to turn it around in under 24 hours. What really impressed me though was when I went to pick up the book. He had about 10 post-its sticking out of the book highlighting potential issues. All of them turned out to be my errors, but I really appreciated his transparency and commitment to quality and making sure I was happy with the outcome. Whoa! These are some pretty harsh reviews. I'd been dealing with Fidel and Alternative Source LA for at least 8-9 years...maybe more. Fidel has printed tons of business cards for me, mountains of flyers and truck loads of catalogs for me too. His pricing is very competitive and believe me, we shop around when we are about to print up 2500 pcs of 75+ pages long catalogs. The quality is first rate, the turn around is always quick and they are all super cool to deal with. I'd turned a lot of friends and even my competitors onto ASLA and will continue to because I have had ZERO PROBLEMS WITH THEM!!!! PS- I am writing this because my buddy designed a postcard for me and Yelped ASLA before he submitted the artwork. He was worried for me and brought this to my attention. Came here for the first time. Worked with Fidel and Josh for two meme posters that I needed printed out for my cousins graduations. For many reasons I was LESS than the ideal customer: 1) Called last minute 2) Needed everything done same day 3) Did NOT have images ready They let me use Eddie's computer to make all the memes, which ended up being low quality images because I had made memes out of them. Josh asked for the original images and quickly made them into memes with the original images to minimize the pixels. I was in a hurry and pixels did not bother me, but they really wanted to create a quality product... The posters turned out BEAUTIFULLY, with a FAST turnaround. This review is overdue. I walked into this business because I wanted to have some photoshop work done with an image I had. I figured what I wanted to have done would be pretty simple for someone with photoshop skills, but it was something too difficult for me to do and it would have been way too time consuming trying with Microsoft Paint lol. I didn't get the name of the guy who helped me, but once he was free he asked me what I wanted to have done. I handed him my usb, told him what I wanted to have done, and he started working on it. I was sitting to the side of him and he'd ask me for my input as far as how I wanted a specific thing to look or where to position it. He was done in what felt like less than 15 minutes. He was one 1 of 2 guys working there at the time and they looked like they were related. Brothers probably? He was able to create exactly what I wanted and he also charged me a very reasonable price which I really appreciated. So I just wanted to say thank you for helping me again. read more

Terrible TERRIBLE customer service! I walked in to the new location that's two doors down and it was like walking into an old garage dirty, paper everywhere. And not the way a business should look whatsoever! But I thought hey I'm not gonna judge a book by its cover so I preceded to inquire about some business cards I wanted by Saturday the latest (I came in on a Monday) so one of the men gave me a pen and paper and told me to draw what I wanted on the card I thought to myself this is not the most professional way to show what I wanted for my cards but okay! I finished drawing on the paper and gave it to the man and I asked how much something like that would run he didn't give me an estimate but said he would email me the pricing shortly. Mind you I was the only person in their and they treated me as if I was a bother so I left a little discouraged but was excited to get my business cards in the making or so I thought) A day goes by no email of pricing information so I called on the second day and the man who answered says he was working on my cards and would be sending a proof via email in 30 minutes to check my email in 30. So an hour goes by no email, a day goes by no email it's been officially one week and no email response on the cards i was interested in. I was so bummed because I had a big event that I needed new cards for and was hopeful of the fast turn around time this business claimed to have. So I was left with no business cards. I needed to have some customized t-shirts made for a bachelorette party and I am so glad I found ASLA on yelp. The shirts were of great quality. Even after a wash, the shirts did not shrink drastically and the print on the shirts did not fade. A shout out to Josh who helped me with the design of the t-shirts. I am not artistic or creative at all and all I had was a photo from pinterest to show him. He was able to replicate and also make adjustments to the font style and graphic to make the overall design unique. The shirts were done a whole week earlier than I anticipated and I got a great price! Terrible customer service. Had labels made that were not visible. I gave them a chance to redo the job as long as they gave me proof that it will look good but they would rather me pay for the whole job again with no guarantee it will turn out good. I asked them to make me a sample so i can see the product before i pay for the whole job again and they couldnt print me out a sample. They turned me away over a 30$ roll of sticker paper and a potential long term customer cause they took my money and left me to get the job done else where. Josh informed me if i wanted a white boarder on my labels which i did not but never informed me that the label needed a white background for the labels to be visible. Seemed like cool people at first but when it comes to customer service AFTER the job, they dont do anything to help you. Hope this company will realize your business thrives through REPEAT customers and customer service and customer referrals. Not just doing a ONE time job and taking your customers money and sending them elsewhere. read more

Got 3 different designs done with them and all 3 times the designer took less than 10 minutes to design the cards just how i wanted them. I've recommended them plenty of times. They're a type of business you dont try to low ball cause their prices are GOOD their Customer Service is FAST and easy to deal with. They always gave me my order the next day as promise! Also another thing I liked is that this last time I went to make an order, the guy that helped me out at first saw I was with my 2 kids and he was nice enough to turn on the cartoons for them even though the office was busy. All I wanted was a couple of posters, here's what happened instead: First, I was supplied with the wrong paper then, the last name on the credits was completely blurred out. I waited 90 minutes to have this situation corrected only to have the same error duplicated! I was assured that the error would be corrected, so I returned a couple days later and the poster was even worse than before. That's four, errors, none of which were my fault. I could not believe the manager was actually upset with me, saying things like "I work with people like you all the time." & "Do you want it or not?" He was completely rude & unprofessional and because of that, he's lost me as a client as well as my many colleagues. I wasted gas, time and energy in my attempt to work with ALSLA, and will never work with them again, whether you do or not is up to you. I wish ALSLA the best, and truly hope that I am the last client to ever be treated like this. read more
