I remember thinking during the interview it didn't seem possible that the director, Sue, really knew each kid individually like was being shown. I just didn't think a sense of care and community like that was possible given our previous experiences, but over time, I've seen that's just the way they do things here. That level of care is the way here at Goddard. The staff are knowledgeable and kind, and they know most if not all of the students by name whether they are in their class or not. My daughter has cycled through a few classes as she's aged and every single one has been great. She absolutely thrives at Goddard and loves everything about it; it's one of her favorite places to be. She has learned so much in her time here - growing leaps and bounds both intellectually and emotionally. They do so many fun activities and she asks me every morning what fun thing is in store that day - especially in summer! School leadership puts so much thought into fun and adventure for the kids. My daughter is well known, appreciated, safe, and loved, and we couldn't ask for anything more. She comes home every single day excited to tell us about her day, and excited to go back the next. She has one year left before kindergarten, and I'm honestly already heartbroken. If Goddard still offered kindergarten here, we would sign her up in a heartbeat. If we ever have more kids, enrolling them in Goddard will be one of the easiest decisions we'll make.

Before the tour I had spoken to them and told them that my son was in speech therapy. They were aware and said this wouldn't be a problem. When we came in to go through the paperwork the director told me that my son would not do well at their school and that he would need one on one care that they couldn't give, therefore he would "slip through the cracks". After observing him for 5-10 minutes she stated that she believes he is autistic and his mannerisms were all things that a child with autism demonstrates. She went on to give me pamphlets of places for him to get tested and schools for children with autism diagnosis. I let her know that the pediatrician had never once had a concern for autism and that he just had the speech delay. I left crying and embarrassed by the way we were treated. My son now goes to a new school and is thriving. He talks all the time and again has not been diagnosed with autism. I would never recommend this school to anyone. I believe they only want certain children and families who will boost the image of the school.

Some of the instructors were decent, but there was a high turnover rate for staff at this location. One year later, and his reading levels have not improved at all! I think for my son to gain any long term benefits, we would have had to sink $50,000+ of money into this program. That is a financial burden and risk that we are not willing to take! Definitely, not worth the time, program cost and gas money that I put into my car! Currently, we have my son working with a tutor after school for 5 days a week (close to home) and we have spent 1/4 the money. The results have been MUCH better and my son is happier because there is less drive time.

I have had my daughter (she's 5.5) tested by 5 different professionals in a lot of different areas of expertise (occupational therapy, behavioral therapy, speech pathology, and auditory testing, and LMB in OP) to get to the bottom of why she is behind her kindergarten class in reading. Her school has a pretty intense Kindergarten program so I wanted to at least give her confidence in her ability to catch up to peers. Anyway, I felt the testing at LMB was top notch, and was very thorough with legs to each area. Their test came back with very similar results to other testers (not affiliated with LMB or even in the same state) but their approach to "fixing" my daughter seemed like a clear path over a 4 week period. I didn't feel like I was being sold to at all, I felt like they took the time to truly get to know my daughter (and even requested one more test the following day to gauge her against higher standards bc of her expectations at her school). I would not even be considering paying their fees if I didn't feel like Sierra (the director) and her crew hadn't spent the time with my daughter and actually had solid feedback. In addition, their findings mirrored what the other specialists found as well so it reaffirmed my gut instinct. It's not a cheap place but from talking with other professionals I know they yield proven results. I'm willing to try it this summer and will update my review once we go through it. I just didn't want people to be totally scared off by the unfortunate experience the other reviewer had. It's a frustrating and emotional journey when you're worried about how to help your child, and I would still consider LMB to help even if it's just their testing (which is WAY less expensive than the other testing we did! The actual program is what is pricy).

If we ever have questions they either have the answers or gather the information and have an answer for us within the week. Our kids are always happy to go to, as they call it school. They even loved the assessment the very first day, which to me looked like a test! The teachers and director do an amazing job making math fun. My kids love the motivational incentives they can earn, and really work hard for the incentives. There's nothing rote or boring about the way Mathnasium teaches math. Their program has helped my kids learn to think more mathematically. It's not like a typical tutoring program, where my kids do their homework with another adult. I can do that at home! Mathnasim has gotten them excited about math, and able to think at a higher level.

ME: Well, I'm taking off work early tomorrow to come and do the classes I haven't been able to get because they don't work with my schedule. Can I just pay you tomorrow? HIM: Don't you have a credit card? Besides, the owner came in and took all my files. He never does that. At least it'll look like I did something today. (he laughs) ME: Ok (I pay him the last payment) I'll see you tomorrow around 3pm The next day I leave work early, grab some lunch, and head to the school. There's a HUGE white truck/van taking up three spots in the lot. I grab my stuff and start walking in. There's a man standing outside on the phone and as I walk past him, he says, "What do you think you're doing?" ME: I'm going to class. What do you think I'm doing. But now I'm looking around and the owners of the truck are dumping whatever they can into trash cans and taking them out past me. MAN: There's no class. They were evicted this morning. ME: WHAT?!?! The sound of the hundreds of bottles being emptied into the dumpster outside is distracting MAN: Yeah, they were thrown out. You can't come in. So I walk out and sit in my car. They JUST took my money 12 hours before. I called the school's main number and a guy named Nico told me to come to their location and we'd work something out. He said I was only twenty minutes away and he had no idea what had happened. An HOUR and twenty-five minutes later I pull up in front of this janky looking strip mall with a check cashing place and I think it was a tarot card reader. I was afraid to park my car on this busy road. I walked in and found Nico and another man sitting in what I'm assuming was the office. I told them both there's no way after working a full day that I'm going to drive over an hour to a part of town that I wouldn't want to walk out at night by myself and I would like a refund. NICO: I'm not authorized to do that. But I'll leave a message for the man who can. ME: Is it going to be the owner? Because apparently he doesn't know how to pay his bills. I want you to make sure he has all my info. (He starts to write my name and number) I was on edge, I'll admit. I'm usually not that aggressive. NICO: I don't know. The owner doesn't know what happened. ME: I'll tell you what happened. Nobody gets their sh!t thrown out on the lawn for missing one payment. He knew. That's why he came in and took the files yesterday. He KNEW. (Blank stare from Nico) ME: So can you write down the name of the guy who's going to call me and where is he? NICO: Oh, he had to run out. I don't know his name. ME: You don't know his name? You work with the guy and you don't know his name? (Now, it's the owner, I know this now. And he ran out because I called my teacher and told him the school was being emptied into a dumpster.) NICO: Uh, his name is Frank (There is no Frank. He panicked not knowing if he should tell me the owner's name) ME: Ok, I'll wait for his call. No phone call ever came. So I contacted the bank I paid with and they gave me my money back. All of it. But I wasted SO much time and have nothing to show for it. Now I have to start over and find a new school, not located anywhere near me, and pay more because all the Christmas deals are over. They handled it like a$$hats. That's all. Nobody contacted me to try to make anything right. I am positive they couldn't have forgotten I came in. Just a shame for me and the 50-something other students who hadn't taken their test or finished the classes yet.

I searched on the internet and wanted to try this school since it was close to my home. I called the office and told them I was skeptical, so they encouraged me to just stop in on a class and observe. WOW, was I excited to see everyone working hands-on and with each other. I knew that this was the place I wanted to attend. The classes helped me with so many facets of bartending that I still adhere to today. While drink recipes are a major focus, the class also concentrates on pouring, cleanliness, and hardware knowledge. In fact, I think that the returning of all equipment and bottles to its original location is probably the most important thing I have learned and has pretty much become my mantra. The course was also fun and educational with stories and jokes. Don was an awesome teacher, and his experience and stories would leave you waiting to hear more. I always looked forward to attending classes and would stay until the last minute. Maybe the best about the program is the job placement service. After completing the courses, I was then worried about how I would find a job in bartending. However, the placement service they use could not have been any more easier. I took the coursework in March of 2014 and was able to have my first job the first week of April. I was looking to advance my career several months later, and again, the school provided me with a link to a position that I absolutely love working at today. Bartender American Professional Schools has changed my life by helping me to pursue a career I have always wanted and continues to guide me as I make my bartending journey.
