The individual classrooms are well decorated, organized, and full of educational toys. In addition there is a huge gym for indoor play and new playgrounds (one for toddlers and one for older children) that my children love. My children have attended a handful of daycares in the area due to covid closures; since starting ACDS in 2021 I have been consistently pleased with ACDS' compassionate teachers, routines, and communication. The director is strong in her leadership and vision. She is very easy to approach with questions and is also hands on with the children. I give ACDS a 10 out of 10.

Multiple teachers witnessed events over several months and 0 reported to DCFS until 1 finally did once a child had its head hit on the wall. The teachers have been "retrained" in mandatory reporting, but I'm not convinced a culture changes so fast. Even now that the abuser does not work there, we have been promised access to video cameras and that has not happened. I've generally found the staff to be very unfriendly and unhelpful sending parents notes like "Leave headbands in the car. This is not a hair salon." and refusing to help potty train saying, "Once you have potty trained at home, we will follow up." How does someone potty train a toddler only certain parts of the day?!?! I would not recommend this school.

We have just one more year left at the preschool until the youngest graduates! Little Angels is NAEYC accredited which is not easy to get. That isn't a requirement for my preschool decision, but it does indicate that the school takes their role seriously and that they provide high quality curriculum! They do a fantastic job of preparing the preschoolers for Kindergarten - both academically and socially. The school is very bright and cheerful and also very clean. Many of the teachers have been there a long time. They seem to have low teacher turnover which is nice. Some of the teachers have taught all three of my kids. The teachers and staff are very kind and loving. I really feel like part of the preschool community at Little Angels. I have made some great friends while chatting with other moms at pickup/dropoff. One last (huge for me) plus is that your kids don't have to be potty trained in order to attend. No stress about worrying if your kid is potty trained in time for the first day of school! I would not hesitate to recommend Little Angels to another parent looking for a preschool!

The curriculum is research-based and directly supports student growth into the Barrington 220 school system. The creative enrichment classes are also a highlight. Your preschooler will learn not only strong academic skills, but also the social-emotional skills necessary for success! The parent advisory board and parent community is strong and FUN! If you are looking for a flexible, innovative, and NAEYC accredited preschool program--look no further. Stop in for a visit with the school's director and watch the magic happen!

The facilities are extremely nice, the campus is clean and safe, and the after-school transportation & drop-in options for school-age kids are very convenient. Those elements are genuinely appealing and initially made this program stand out to us. However, the school is far more conservative and doctrinally strict than was communicated during enrollment. The religious component was described to us as simple Bible stories and general values, which sounded acceptable even though we are not very religious. We want our children to be open-minded and respectful to people of all backgrounds, so exposure to a faith-based program wasn't a concern. The school's true stance became clear when our 4 year old son chose to wear a dress to school. Nothing up to this point gave us an indication that this would be an issue, but the reaction made it clear that this is a deeply & strictly conservative environment. This also gave us new perspective on the 'life lessons' (where students are taken into the church auditorium for Bible stories) that our kids described. The way our kids explained them, they sound more like preaching than simple story time, and not always age-appropriate for preschool and early elementary aged children. The frequency, intensity and rigidity of the religious teachings were far more than expected. Families specifically seeking a rigid, firmly conservative Christian program may find this school to be a strong fit. Those expecting a lighter / more moderate faith-based curriculum or a more inclusive environment may want to consider other options. Once we realized this was a level of religious conservatism we were not prepared for, the school handled our concerns respectfully. We had open and courteous communication, our unenrollment process was fast and smooth & they refunded our unused tuition. We appreciate their professionalism on that front, even though the school itself wasn't the balanced environment we expected.
