I'd highly recommend this ATV rental. I was able to call and get a same day reservation (prob helped that it was mid week). The rental place is located right off the main dirt road you ride on up a mountain. We did encounter one or two cars on the main dirt road, but they let us pass them. The real adventure is on the ATV specific tracks. Have fun getting muddy and an adrenaline rush! We didn't have many other ATVs out there with us, which was so nice! Instructions were given, but this is not a guided tour. They give you a map, helmet, tutorial on how to use the ATVs and a friendly smile and wave. It was perfect! We did one hour, because we were crunched for time. If you want to do multiple ATV tracks, you will probably want 2 hours. read more

Great price. Great customer service. Great experience. My family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids) was looking for something to do one of the days we were in Durango. We enjoy the outdoors and wanted to try an off road tour, but found a few atv rental places and figure we would do our own tour. It was a blast. There were a few places around town, but most were either way too expensive or they did not have the type of atv we wanted. Altitude ATV Rental not only had a 4 person atv, they had the best price too. We called, they got the razor ready and it was just a few signatures then we were off to the mountain trails. The razor 800 was in good shape and drove well. The tank was full and we did not have to pay to refill it. The helmets and gear were included. We had a lot of fun. The trails are awesome and the kids loved it. read more

We rented two side-by-sides and had a great time. Rental representatives were friendly and helpful. We were there by 0900 and although the owner's arrived at 0905 (they don't reside at the rental location) they got us up an running in no time and the rental didn't start until we were given instructions and set out on the ride. Only draw back was the limited trails to ride on. We stopped a few time and had lunch which allowed us to use up the entire 4 hour rental period (our plan to start), but Middle Mountain is limited on the number of trails to ride. Still, had a great time for our first time out and would do it again. read more

I write yelp reviews for two reasons: to do my part in giving other potential customers an idea of what they may be getting into, and secondly to keep business owners on their toes. After quite a bit of consideration, I decided this review was necessary. Upon calling Altitude ATV, I spoke with the owner about renting a UTV. He informed me that he was busy at the time and would call me back in an hour or two with more information. Understandable. After not hearing back from him that day, I attempted calling back 4-5 times, each time I was greeted with a voicemail. Deciding to give it one last shot before going onto the next rental company, he answered this time. We set up an appointment for the follow morning at 9:00. My wife and I got to the rental place about 10 minutes early, and called his number. The lady on the phone informed me that someone would be there shortly to rent us the UTV. The gentleman who met with us was not the type of person you'd want as the face of your company when you're not there. We found out that he was not an actual employee, just a friend helping the business owner out. From the spitting, to the smoking, to the constant talk of how we would have to pay for anything and everything if something went wrong, he seriously lacked professionalism. 45 minutes later, we're finally ready to inspect the vehicle and get on the trails. Unfortunately, while inspecting it, we discovered that a very important support piece on the front end was broken. My wife and I tried so hard to make it work with this place, because they were the only ones in the area that had the particular Atv that we wanted. Naturally, we were bummed that we drove a half hour out there, only to waste another 45 minutes to find out that we wouldn't be able to rent it after all. The guy helping us called the owner, filled him in, and was told to tell us that we could rent another vehicle from him for 50% off (the reason for the 2 stars instead of 1). Choosing an Atv, we rode about 5 feet before finding out that the machine also had a very important piece broken on the front end, prohibiting it from being able to turn. Needless so say, the whole morning was a bust. The purpose of this review isn't to bash a business, but to hopefully get someone's attention. Someone who can make very necessary changes. read more

Very knowledgeable about their machines, the trails, the terrain etc. The machines themselves are kept in good condition, obviously there will be older models that have more wear and tear, but they are maintained well. The best part to me was the ease of conversation and communication with the owner. Simple, straight forward, and honest. We had a large group that included small children and one grandmother, and we had a blast on the mountain trails. read more

My son and I decided we wanted to do something different while the women rode horses. We called at the last minute and the owner, David, met us and got us on our way in just a few minutes. Turned out to be a blast with some really great trails. These trails were significantly different from the Silverton area and a lot less crowded. Only regret was only doing two hours. read more
