Here's my story. I have used Altman's pest control company, a local and family owned business, for at least two years. I used them for the basic lawn fertilization and weed control, spraying the bushes around the house and of course the pest control in and around our home. This past March, I talked to them about the lawn not really looking healthy, still way too many weeds and that I wanted to consider reseeding. I asked for their opinion and I was given the option of either reseeding in spots or doing the entire lawn. For over $300 I decided to do the entire lawn so it might look more even with a healthier overall look. After a $500 water bill and a couple of warnings from the water company, and 5 weeks later, I didn't see one new blade of grass so I called them. Someone came out and take a look and said, just be patient and keep watering. I told him I had to back down from the watering because I had the warnings from the water company, but I would do the best I could. Thank the Lord above at that point because it started raining a lot. Three more weeks went by and not one new blade of grass anywhere was showing! I called and asked Jimmy, the owner to come out. He did. At that time he told me that "St. Augustine grass takes 6 months to start growing". I was shocked by this. Six months?!? I was never told that at any time before. Had I been told this I would've questioned it and done some research. I started asking around and everyone that knew anything about lawn maintenance was puzzled. They said St. Augustine grass cannot be used for seeding, it comes in blocks of grown turf. Plus, there was no preparation before they reseeded. Just a spray. Anyway, I was very disappointed. I felt that they didn't know what they were doing, and I think that feeling has been justified. So it led me to canceling. There's no way that I want to make expensive monthly payments for all different services to accompany who I can't trust and who doesn't seem to really know what they're doing as far as it comes to lawn maintenance. And get little or nothing for these payments. Plus, whenever I did call the office to talk to Jennifer about something, I noticed that repeatedly and continuously communications was hugely lacking within the company. The only person I really liked and trusted was Anthony, the guy who came out and did the sprays. But he's just one of the worker bees. I am now with Integrity out of Homosassa and very pleased. I had a spider infesttion. I called this fraud. They were supposed to come out, spray the house and perimeter and do follow up appointments. 125.00 for the first spray 88 the follow ups. Two men showed up, sprayed the carport and left. total time 10 minutes. never did the perimeter of te house, never came inside. hurrie job said they had to be somewhere else and left. they did not complette work/ Ilater got a bill for 125.00 which i refused to pay. nw they have contacted Forest Recovery services 1-800-749-3252 FRS 1120629. We called and made an appointment for a service tech to come out and spray the house for bugs inside and out. We waited for almost an hour for them to show up. I finally had to call and ask where the guy was, the office lady said she would have him call me himself. When he called he said we were not on his list but give him fifteen minutes and he will be here, well it was more like an half a hour but I decided to overlook that error even though it gave me a really bad first impression of the company and their quality of customer service. He was not here 10-15 minutes tops when he said he was finished spraying inside and out. We all were thinking "Man is that guy fast." We've had bug companies before and they were here 20-30 minutes and put down granules on our yard and sprayed for less money with great results- NO BUGS. But with Altman's spraying is all they do but it didn't work, we waited two weeks before calling them back to say we have just as many spider webs now as before. So the girl in the office said she would get with Mike and the owners to see what they wanted to do about it, so we waited a couple of days and no calls. I called them again and she said she would have Mike call me that same day and he did. Mike said I will come back out and retreat Friday, I said great! A week went by and spider webs were all over again plus this time we had a black spider on the screen door out front, the size of a fifty cent piece. ( Black with white dots on back ) So today I stop by their office to pay the $78 I owed and come to find out that Mike never returned to retreat, so the girl in the office said she was sorry that this is not the way they do business BUT did not offer to call the owner to talk to me or offer to have someone come out and retreat, so I told her to cancel my bug spraying contract and she said okay I can do that without even trying to rectify the situation and make us happy as customers! My wife said " Seventy eight dollars down the drain!" Buyer BEWARE!!!!!!! FYI they charge $5.00 fee for charge cards! read more

They are not very professional. I've been charged for same service twice I same week. First I was told it was a mistake. Then I was told I owed the money. Will not use them any more. read more

Cancelled after service in December 2019, with a phone call and a note on the statement stub mailed in with check. Application applied to lawn March 2020. I was told I still had to pay the bill because I did not send an official notice of cancellation. Poor customer service. read more

Company was hired to take care of my lawn at a home I visited 2x per year. Visited in 2014 and found very high weeds and grass. They were paid to cut the grass and kill the weeds every 2 weeks. Clearly they took advantage that we didn't live there. 3 years later I have a bill collector call to collect $250 for past services. Stay away from this group as they are not honest! Used their lawn service...what a mistake! They didn't offer a contract, we didn't sign anything. Just paid them to cut our grass. When we became unhappy, we paid for services rendered and changed lawn companies. They claimed we owed them money for the rest of the year!! The owner threatened us on our doorstep, if we didn't pay him he would send the info to the credit and collection agencies. We have been harassed by the owner and now by collection agents and our credit has been marred by this scam operation. BUYER BEWARE!!! BAD BUSINESS!! read more

Very dishonest, short materials. tell you they pay more money for materials and planted then they actually pay, send out a person twice to do a lawn treatment that I never ordered; than brag about their excellent ratings on yelp.
