They're always polite and helpful. The medical staff are awesome. When given the opportunity, I've always come here for tests and treatment.

Mammograms This can…read morebe a very sensitive topic and a scary one quite frankly. I utilized this facilities imaging lab for my mammogram for this year! The check in process was a little odd meaning the patient registration clerks took a little longer than normal to check me in. Their explanation was "it's a new system" totally understandable. The waiting area was clean and kind of chilly! There was a TV for your entertainment. The wait was not long at all, then the technician called me back. This part right here, is the best part! That technician was amazing! Did you hear that? Totally amazing!! She was very professional, and addressed me by my last name. She was kind, compassionate, caring, and totally gentle. I felt so comfortable and I definitely felt like I was in good hands. The tech shared that she has been doing this for many years, it was very obvious from her mannerisms, and the way she conducted her self on the machine and professionally. She guided me through the process, kept me informed, gave great instructions, and I couldn't be more pleased! I received a survey concerning her and my visit later, I did not hesitate to provide the highest scoring possible. Some important takeaways: Although I was on Christian Northwest's campus my mammogram was booked through Washington University. In case you are interested in going there. There was not a co-pay or any cost due to it being a preventative service for my annual . The last thing if you're wondering, no, it did not hurt!! Now keep in mind, pain tolerance varies per person and our tomatoes are all different sizes but it did not hurt!

My family is not the type to publicly complain because the care and well-being of our elderly…read moreparent is our highest priority. However, I am deeply disappointed with the level of care and service my 88-year-old mother, who suffers from dementia, has received at Christian Northeast Hospital. I want to preface this by saying that when an ambulance is called, they have consistently insisted on taking my mother to Christian Northeast Hospital. Each time, my brother has agreed out of immediate concern to get our mother stabilized as quickly as possible. During her first stay on the 8th floor, my mother fell and injured her hand, hitting the same area where she previously had brain surgery. I was shocked when the charge nurse stated that "she should have known not to get out of bed." For someone living with dementia, that response was both concerning and heartbreaking. Then, on May 11th, my mother was readmitted to Christian Northeast Hospital. The first room she was placed in had a roach, and later that same week, on Friday morning, a bed bug was reportedly found on her bed. My adult son was informed that he could not stay overnight with my mother. Because of serious safety concerns, I immediately called and spoke with Nurse Christina on the 10th floor, explaining that not having someone remain overnight with my mother, who suffers from dementia, was simply not an option. During our conversation, I was told there was concern that my son may have brought the bed bug into the hospital. I responded, "My adult son, who is an attorney--you have to be kidding." Nurse Christina then stated she would contact her supervisor, and thankfully, after further discussion, my son was permitted to stay overnight with my mother. For dementia patients, familiar support, consistency, and supervision are critical. Mind you, earlier that same week, my mother's room had already been changed because a roach had been found in it. Then, on Monday, May 18th, I received a call stating that my mother would be discharged that day. I informed the doctor that I was out of town, and he stated that the social worker, Michelle, would contact me. When Michelle called, she informed me that transportation had already been arranged for my mother to be taken home at 3:30 PM. I explained that I had spoken with the doctor earlier and informed him that I was not home. Michelle stated that Dr. Quasar had given permission to discharge my mother. When I attempted to express my concerns to Michelle, she hung up on me. When I called her back, my call went to voicemail. I then contacted the main hospital to file a formal complaint and was told I would need to speak with the charge nurse. I also attempted to contact Dr. Quasar again but was told he was not on that floor and that there was no way to reach him. As a family, we entrust healthcare facilities with the safety, dignity, and proper care of our loved ones--especially elderly family members who are vulnerable and unable to fully advocate for themselves. This experience has been deeply upsetting, disappointing, and frustrating. One of the greatest concerns in North County is the lack of competent and accessible healthcare resources during times of emergency. It is heartbreaking that many families feel they must drive 45 minutes away to receive quality healthcare for their loved ones. Our community deserves compassionate care, better communication, accountability, and a more effective system for addressing patient and family concerns. We can and must do better for our seniors and vulnerable loved ones.

She tried mightily to handle customer service, testing, sanitation, coordination with off-site staff, and more--and I do commend her for her efforts. But this is no way to run a health clinic. I was really taken aback by the fact that, once I accepted a telehealth appointment with a nurse practitioner, I was expected to discuss all of my symptoms and treatment options using the receptionist's phone--in full earshot of everyone in the waiting room (though there were only a couple people; one was a minor). I question the legality of practicing medicine in this manner, ie, who is supervising the clinic if no doctors are on site? Are nurse practitioners in Illinois licensed to provide care and prescribe without direct supervision? Furthermore, while the nurse practitioner I spoke with was as kind as can be, their medical advice wasn't helpful. For an unknown respiratory issue I described, they prescribed over-the-counter meds including a sleep aid (although they knew I already had an Rx sleep aid from my own doctor), and a common motion sickness remedy (although they knew I already had an Rx anti-nausea med from my own doctor). They also prescribed a cough suppressant that was just plain ineffective. I don't doubt their intentions, but when I was able to see my own doctor days later, he was frustrated that they didn't prescribe any antibiotics (not knowing whether my infection was viral or bacterial), and at the OTC choices I was given. Moreover, he immediately ordered a chest x-ray, which found that I had already progressed to acute pneumonia. I would return to this urgent care only if--like the day I went there--I had no other choice. And that would be silly, considering there's a reputable hospital right across the street.

Apparently written instructions aren't going to do it either. I am retired, and it should be well understood by people in this type of business that Medicare is billed first, then private insurance. I went to the doctor yesterday, only to be turned away because my private insurance hadn't paid anything on four previous visits (although they HAD paid on others during the same time frame that had been submitted correctly). I called the insurance company who told me that they had refused payment because they had been billed first and said that they would need the office to provide Medicare's Explanation of Benefits. When I told those brainless wonders that, they said that wasn't true. They want a three-way conversation with the insurance company, BUT only during a two-hour time frame because apparently the only person who can do it only works two hours a day. This has been going on since last August (first visit not paid by insurance). Apparently there is no oversight, no supervision, no training and no intelligence employed in this office. If a claim isn't paid, they don't bother to do a follow up to find out why. Poorly run office with people who have their heads so firmly planted up their backsides that they will never see daylight again. When this matter is settled, I will have to find new doctors because the administrative workers are dumber than dirt!

The staff at the front desk has always been professional and courteous. They seems to be personal and remember their patients. I now visit Alton Multispecialist for the pediatrics department. Dr. Lindsey is the absolute best!!! She is very personal and kind with children. She answers any questions parents may have. The best part of pediatrics I rarely wait 5 minute, they are very efficient with their time. The front desk and nurses in the pediatrics have also been great. I would recommend this place to others, especially Dr. Lindsey in pediatrics.
