The short story: an oily-fingered misogynist with unfair pricing for an inferior quality of…read moreservice. I brought a bunch of dresses in to be altered. One of them was altered OK. However, on the other two there were serious issues. The worst one was a brand new gown for my best friends wedding, which I brought in brand new and got back with OILY FINGER STAINS all over the dress. When I complained about it, he did not take any responsibility, but rather said "oh, yeah, those were there."- I say again: the dress was BRAND NEW. He said, "take it to a dry cleaner they'll get it out." Did he take any fraction off of my $280 bill? No. And, when I took it to the dry cleaner, she looked at it, made a couple of "tsks, tsks" before saying "whoever tailored this had oily fingers," which she gathered based on the placement of the stains near altered seams. She tried her best, but could not get out all of the stains. Of course, she (the dry cleaner) gave me a discount even though it wasn't her fault that she couldn't get out all of the stains, which is an example of good customer service in case the owner of the shop reads this and wants to learn something about how good business is conducted. So now I'm going in a stained dress to my best friend's wedding. The other dress is fixable but I will need to take it back to another tailor, because he altered it wrong. You may be wondering how someone could alter a dress wrong. Well, it's a wrap-style dress that is meant to show the tiniest bit of cleavage. I should mention that I'm a pretty conservative dresser for someone who is not religiously orthodox- I mean that it's a TINY bit of cleavage. But that was too much for his sensibilities, so against my wishes he altered the dress so that it covered me up because he thought I needed to dress more conservatively. When I told him that it wasn't right, he even shortened the straps to pull it up higher on my chest and said "no, no -like this to cover you up more." | should also mention that to most of the women who came into the shop he was glaringly rude, but was so deferent to all of the man who came in. I posted this review on Google too (clarifying this here, so that it is clear that this isn't posted by a bot) in the hopes that no other women get spoken to rudely or get their clothing stained. Ladies - are we really going to put up with a man who tells us how to dress in 2023? NO THANK YOU!

This was off just having a terrible experience with some shirts getting butchered by the local dry cleaner, so I wanted a more professional take. I walked in completely clueless on a whim, tactlessly not making an appointment, and even though it was Juan's lunchbreak he still immediately took the time to see me and work with me. That said... let the man eat. Don't interrupt his break! I still feel bad about it!!! About the tailoring: Juan is just That Dude. He WILL make you look better and point out ways to make the clothes better compliment your body that others don't even know about. The pricing felt extremely fair and not at all like I was being overcharged for the amount and quality of work being done. Not only that, Juan did me a solid by getting the alterations done in-time with a big move out of state. Last minute, off of a random walk-in, and brother still treated me like I was a long time regular. And matter of fact, even though I'm going to be living down south I WILL still be getting my nicest clothing tailored by Juan. That's what his work is worth to me. 10/10 will be making sure I get my nephews' first suits tailored by him too
