I attended a social security presentation in 2018 and was impressed with Jame's presentation. I scheduled 3 meetings and was hoping to meet with James, but was scheduled with Peter Bradshaw. So far, so good! We're still new to working with James, but so far our experiences have been very positive. Our financial situation has changed drastically this year and we had no idea what to do about it. In our first meeting with James, he reviewed all of our accounts (even ones we had forgotten about), putting our entire financial situation into one coherent picture which he then gave us a copy of (for free). He then listened to our ideas, offered a few of his own, and scheduled a follow-up meeting to show us a comprehensive plan based on our short, medium and long-term goals. He even showed us how we could afford to purchase a house so much faster than we had thought, and took our concerns about savings plans for the kids seriously. Yes, he's *quite* the talker. Sometimes it's hard to get a word in edgewise - which could be slightly annoying except that he knows WHAT he's talking about and tries (for the most part) to explain it in terms we can understand. I also *really* love that he's a fiduciary, which means that he is personally financially invested in my family's financial success, not just taking a fee regardless of how our accounts perform. About a year and a half ago, I (and my wife) decided to attend their seminar on Social Security to see if we could learn more (and get the free steak meal at a nice Italian Restaurant where the seminar was being held). Well, to our surprise, we not only enjoyed the dinner, but James R. was a wealth of knowledge and information on how to maximize our SS upon retiring. He was engaging and just very likeable in that first meeting, not pushy in securing any of our business moving forward, only truly wanting to give us all we needed to know about maximizing our SS upon retirement. Well, based on all we got out of that first seminar, we finally scheduled our initial no obligation meeting with James as our potential financial planner as had been putting it off for a few years already, and after that social security seminar we knew we had come upon a rare and unique individual, someone who was very knowledgeable and expert on all things financial, but also just a good person who truly cares about our financial well being and helping us to make the best decisions for what our goals are in retirement moving forward as we started late in our retirement planning. James is a true professional and has continued to earn our trust (and even admiration) as he supports us in our reviewing our financial situation periodically and answering any and all questions along the way but here's what we most like about working with him and his team: he's/they're always available to us for when something comes up that we need help with or have questions about. Lastly, we feel that in addition to having someone who "has our back" with regards to saving and positioning best for our retirement someday, that we now have a real friend in him.
