He quoted me $1100.00 to fix it all, in his own words. After he was done, he overcharged me and paid just under $1,400.00. Then he claimed that the job was to fix only half of the pond! OUTRAGEOUS! I was left with the same problem, a leaking pond and a $1400.00 bill! This is outright fraud! I am suing him in small claims court. Stay away from this crook.

Needless to say, I had a house, that I had no idea how the sprinkler system was set up, and I have never had any previous experience with irrigation systems, nor did my husband. I saw his company listed on Yahoo! by someone else in a similar situation as mine and they had great things to say, so I gave him a call. I have used his services about 6 times thus far, as we have sorted out the existing problems, replacing the antiquated controllers, and adjusted areas to our liking. His knowledge of irrigation systems is fantastic. He is also a great resource when it comes to plants and the various species. I enjoy having him around and always find myself gardening while he is working and when I find a weed, plant, or bug that I don't know what it is, I laughingly go up to him and ask what it is. I haven't been able to stump him yet! Gregg is a one man show, and yes, his schedule is highly dependent upon weather, and the difficulty of the work. What I like most about his style is that if there is some of the work that the client can easily do, he will gladly explain to you what needs to be done (ie: lots of digging to prep the area, or setting up the tubing and emitters after he put in the heads). He is not the cheapest route to go, but he is quality and honest. He will even recommend local stores or online stores so that you can buy some of your own equipment or supplies. He has an extensive knowledge of various products over the years and knows the pros and cons of things so can help you make an informed decision on how to do things. He is especially keen on efficient systems and native/drought tolerant designs. He has been late on a couple occasions but has let me know ahead of time, and it didn't bother me none since I am home all day anyways and his reasons were more than adequate. It goes with this sort of business, as the weather is not always cooperative, and time needed is hard to anticipate when it comes to troubleshooting and running into unforeseen problems. I will definitely continue to use him for all my irrigation system needs and have been very happy with all of his work thus far and enjoy having him as a resource for questions and recommendations. He was kind enough to work with me on these issues so I still would have written a positive review, except for what came next. Before completing the project we discussed an additional project, not nearly as big as the first. He was very eager to get paid on the 1st project, so I paid him. We settled on the details of the additional project (price/material/start time), but I did not hear from him. I called and left messages several times, still no call back. I kept trying, he did answer once and confirmed a start date with me, but didn't show up nor call. So, I again called several times, left a message, but still no call back! In February, I verbally contracted with Lisa/BoD for "WEEKLY fine pruning and yard maintenance" on…read morea monthly basis, for an initial 'trial' period of the remainder of 2014. I was initially very frustrated by her seemingly slow pace of work, but I learned to accept it as my plants and yard took a new shape. Communication with Lisa was 'interesting' - if I was home when she was there it was not a problem, she was seemingly NOT reachable by phone, and email was replied to at HER convenience... I had an 'additional garden project' that I asked for Lisa's help/referral with, and while her referral (Raul) came out to bid the project (which I accepted), he never came to do the work...? Lisa advised me BY EMAIL a few weeks before she took two weeks vacation - during the MIDDLE of the summer (when I, my family and friends are more predominantly enjoying our yard) - and upon her return, I paid her for the weeks she had been present during the month. She was "extremely offended", stating that 1. She was "a Landscape Architect, not just a gardner!", 2. Comparing her employment with me, to my employment with my company, stating "don't you get two weeks paid vacation at your job?" - which is somewhat irrelevant because in my experience, contract employees performing manual labor get paid only when they are present to perform work, and 3. Giving me essentially "immediate 30 days services termination notice". We had some further cordial communication - me asking her to make sure she completed deadheading five crepe myrtles (which she understood/agreed to), and her re-stating her notice and final payment request (which I understood/agreed to). It's unfortunate and disappointing that Lisa/BoD did not uphold her end of our 'service termination agreement' - even having been paid in full, and receiving a cordial follow up/reminder email. From my experience - before engaging services with Lisa/BoD, I would suggest having a DETAILED WRITTEN contract, and I strongly suggest NOT TO AGREE to the 'auto-withdrawal-payment-system' that she had initially requested I participate in.

The yard went from an eyesore to being incredibly beautiful and inviting. We liked it so much that we just finished working with her to landscape the back yard. Lisa is incredibly easy to work with--she is very kind and very attentive to requests and ideas. She took all of our requests, wacky ideas, wants, and needs and turned them into something beautiful and enchanting, but also practical. My husband likes a more formal English-style garden, while I wanted something weird and a little wild that would attract birds and insects. She did a great job of balancing our two styles to create something that we both adore. She also recommended a great contractor and worked with him to make sure our garden came to life as we expected. Our back yard is now my favorite retreat and I have Lisa to thank for it. I highly recommend talking to her!
