The material arrived in time for them to start the roof but the weather didn't cooperate and the start got pushed back by 2 days. The crew started stripping of the old roof at early in the morning and by noonish they were starting the installation. They had one person on the ground putting trash in the trash trailer and by later afternoon the entire crew was involved in clean up work. A little more detail: Our house is over 20 years old, original roof shingles. This year the weather has been consistent with high winds, lots of thunderstorms, and some hail. I found some of the architectural shingle tabs in the yard and the shingles have a bit of curl along the edges. I checked out several roofers and they are all very busy. After meeting with a few I chose Family Roofing. Louis came out and we had a walk around the house. He pointed out all of the details of the work his crews perform according to their contract. Everything lined up with what I was looking for, so we picked out a color that closely matched our original shingle color. It took several weeks before his crew could come out. Lots of houses getting new roofs this year. There was a bit of a communication problem one day when I called for an update which was cleared up the next time we talked. He ordered the shingles and had them dropped off in our driveway as per our previous conversations. Louis called after about a week and said that they would be out the next day so I moved our cars to make room for them. They started work before 7am by covering the ground/patio/plants, then started removing the shingles. Yep that's loud in the house but that's normal. They had the roof off in about an hour and started laying down the paper. I had to take my wife to a doctor's appointment and when I came back they were starting to lay down the shingles. They finished up with debris cleanup and dragging a huge magnet in the yard about 6 or 7pm.
