If I could leave no stars, I would. They are so rude. When you walk into the store, no one acknowledges you. They do, however, watch you like you are going to put a piñata or big ass bag of candy in your pants. Then GOD forbid you need their help. They act like you owe them something. I was craving these mexican chocolates with caramel inside so I go here. I'm super excited and ready to eat one...... When I open the box there was TWO 4 cm long worms!!! This dulceria is cool because they have a large selection of mexican candies, piñatas and goodies. But like everyone else I agree that the customer service could be improved. A smile or an offer to help find what you're specifically looking for would be nice. Came here today to buy some candies for tamarind apples and I was not disappointed. They have a ton of goodies in stock and for good prices too. Forritos cost $4 each, Pulparindo $2.50 each, Miguelito Chamoy powder (980g) for $6.99. The woman, I'm assuming is the owner is nice. She smiled and greeted us when checking out. Negative 1 star because the store is kind of dark. Theres not much lighting between the isles. Also, I asked about some bags (goodie bags?) that were displayed behind the counter. It said something like "$1.99 pc 2", but I was a little confused so I asked her how much the bags cost and she told me they weren't for sale. I thought that was odd. Stopped by the other day to check out the store to buy some stuff for a Mexican theme birthday party, I would not recommend this store to anyone, reason being their customer service is bad, I walked in and I wasn't greeted by the lady who was working (which is the owner of the business), she wasn't busy as I walked in and as well she didn't bother to approach me once to see if I needed help or was looking for something in particular, most of their items don't have prices so you have to keep asking their prices, after a few times of asking for prices she seemed to get bothered, as well if you do decide to shop here double check the expiration date as some items throughout the store have expired. read more

This place is very unprofessional. I was planning a party for my sons birthday and was told they would bring in the center pieces for me to look at before I ordered I kept going back 4 times and they never came I heard excuse after excuse so I ordered anyways. Was scheduled to be picked up Thursday and was not ready I had to go back Friday got there at 3 and she was still working on them! The front of the center pieces were one color and the back were another I asked the lady to fix them and she said thats the way they come in and she can give me a refund if I wanted. This little Mexican candy store has tons of Mexican candy! I like to go here for their tamarind lollipops which are only 56 calories each! This place has huge pinatas and lots of chips,gum, cotton candy and these huge marshmallows! Alva's also has an assortment of Mexican cookies!
