    Classic BAIT & SWITCH!!!

    BUYER BE-AWARE ON THE BAIT & SWITCH!!! I purchased multiple items here throughout the week, however the other day I was purchasing some items for individuals who were going out on a boat with me - I wasn't sure of sizes, but the return policy states there will be NO refunds or exchanges on clearance items, bathing suits, toys and beach accessories so I was not concerned. I was returning a long-sleeve shirt, unworn and with the tags still in place. The lady who was processing returns informed me that the long-sleeve shirt I had purchased two-days prior was a beach accessory. I informed her that there were no signs on the shirt racks identifying them as beach accessories, nor any viable reason why I or anyone else would categorize them as beach accessories. She then gave me the option to exchange for something different at which time I became even more confused as I informed her the policy was no returns or exchanges on beach accessories, so I was perplexed she would allow me to exchange a beach accessory - you guessed it, she realizes a long-sleeve shirt is NO more of a beach accessory than a hat! Alvin's got more than enough of my business this week and it'll be the last cent I spend in any of their stores - in no way expecting people not to shop at Alvin's, but I wanted to ensure that everyone was aware of their ridiculous policy, at least at store #750.

    Its okay if you have to stop for a gift.... workers arent "as nice/helpful as the other shops... this place is across from the Advance Auto Parts on Matthew Blvd. I would rate it a 3of5. The building was clean.

    We went back in Aug of 2023, we stopped fort shirts and magnets as this was the first big family vacation we have taken and wanted momentos. The store is huge. There is a ton of stuff to look at, not great quality, a shirt we got my toddler after 1 cold wash the design is now falling off the shirt. The staff is incredibly rude. The outside says spend over $x you get a free gift. We had to go back in and ask about the free item as the cashiers never even tried to offer the item. Then said that "we were luckily we asked bc they only had 2 free items left." It was a cheap $1.99 mug ‍ Wish we would have found a different shop, but there are 3 others exactly like this one and owned by the same company so I'm not sure anything would have been different. Shop at your own discretion.

    This place isn't Macy's Department store but it's a decent beach store with beach related items. Employees were attempting to tidy up the merchandise but patrons were rambling through things faster than they could fold t-shirts. We stopped in to buy some souvenir gifts for the folks back home. I found a really cool short sleeved Crab Island shirt. They even sold cloth face masks with cool designs. They have an extensive selection of sun screen products. The prices were good. The employees were friendly and patient.

    I did not bring my swimsuit when I visited Destin. The beach is so beautiful and they are calling. Since I spent a night here, I decided to visit this discount store. The swimming wears here is about 50% off the sticker price advertised at the front. I walk in and going to look for one. The store is big. They have dressing rooms to try on. I have pick one that match my size and try on. I found one that can air dry easy and fit me. The current technology is very good. The air dry may be in two hour and you can wear it on the street and beach. The store sells a lot of things. From beach equipment such as tower, beach chairs, umbrella, inflatable float, and the swimwear. Plenty of color and size to select from. One thing they need to improve on is the checkout. Many have come not for the swimwear but for the gift items and t shirt. Since it has discounts, they have a lot items on their hand. The line is getting long for one item like me. They need to open more cashiers.

    The shirt I purchased for my son 2 days ago and he wore once has completely peeled off. It hasn't even been washed yet. I took the shirt in to see if it could be returned or exchanged for a different in store item and the rude worker at the counter said I would need my receipt; which was taken out with the trash at the hotel 2 days ago. Complete junk and terrible service in store. I spent over $200 on terrible quality items. So disappointed.

    Overcrowded with items and so many folding tables you can't walk through the store without having to turn around.

    Definitely not worth it. Mostly everything is cheap material. Like they just ironed on pictures. Don't waste your time

I asked what I believed was a very normal and reasonable question about one of the products, and instead of receiving a helpful answer, the employee I spoke with immediately seemed irritated and annoyed that I had even asked. Her tone was rude and dismissive from the start, and she made me feel like I was inconveniencing her simply by trying to get information about something the store sells. As a customer, I don't think it's unreasonable to ask questions before making a purchase, especially in a specialty shop where people may not know every detail about the products. Rather than helping me understand what I was looking at, she responded with visible frustration and an attitude that made me feel unwelcome. What bothered me most was how unnecessary the interaction felt. I was polite throughout the conversation and wasn't demanding or difficult in any way. I simply wanted assistance, which is one of the basic expectations when visiting a retail store. Instead, I felt like I was being talked down to and treated as though my question was stupid or not worth answering. Customer service can make or break a business, and unfortunately this experience left a very negative impression. A surf shop should be a welcoming place where people of all experience levels feel comfortable asking questions and learning more about the sport and equipment. Instead, I left feeling frustrated, embarrassed, and unlikely to return. I hope management takes customer interactions seriously and reminds employees that a little patience and respect go a long way. One rude interaction can easily drive away customers, and based on my experience, there is definitely room for improvement in how customers are treated here. I normally don't leave negative reviews, but this experience was disappointing enough that I felt it was important to share. i think her name was kaylee or something and she needs to learn something.
