Staff is super unhappy and not helpful at all!! We visited the store 3x over a week period. Staff was always this way. Most recent visit, signs all over BOGO 1/2 off, found two sweatshirts only to be told at checkout (had to wait for the cashier to straighten an entire area below register to check me out, she told me which register to go to and proceeded to keep straightening) the items have to be the exact same item. I only wanted the one item I really liked and cashier was so put out to remove the other item. read more

If I could give this place negative stars I would. Went in for a return and the first person said very rudely over there when there is a LITTLE ASS sign that says return. When I stated I had a return they acted like I just put a gun to there head. Then when I went to the return desk she stated very loudly that she still needed to count the drawer. Like I'm sorry am I interrupting you from your FUCKIN JOB. Both were very entitled and ruined my experience I didn't want to even buy anything from there dumb store. BUYER BE-AWARE ON THE BAIT & SWITCH!!! I purchased multiple items here throughout the week, however the other day I was purchasing some items for individuals who were going out on a boat with me - I wasn't sure of sizes, but the return policy states there will be NO refunds or exchanges on clearance items, bathing suits, toys and beach accessories so I was not concerned. I was returning a long-sleeve shirt, unworn and with the tags still in place. The lady who was processing returns informed me that the long-sleeve shirt I had purchased two-days prior was a beach accessory. I informed her that there were no signs on the shirt racks identifying them as beach accessories, nor any viable reason why I or anyone else would categorize them as beach accessories. She then gave me the option to exchange for something different at which time I became even more confused as I informed her the policy was no returns or exchanges on beach accessories, so I was perplexed she would allow me to exchange a beach accessory - you guessed it, she realizes a long-sleeve shirt is NO more of a beach accessory than a hat! Alvin's got more than enough of my business this week and it'll be the last cent I spend in any of their stores - in no way expecting people not to shop at Alvin's, but I wanted to ensure that everyone was aware of their ridiculous policy, at least at store #750. read more

We went back in Aug of 2023, we stopped fort shirts and magnets as this was the first big family vacation we have taken and wanted momentos. The store is huge. There is a ton of stuff to look at, not great quality, a shirt we got my toddler after 1 cold wash the design is now falling off the shirt. The staff is incredibly rude. The outside says spend over $x you get a free gift. We had to go back in and ask about the free item as the cashiers never even tried to offer the item. Then said that "we were luckily we asked bc they only had 2 free items left." It was a cheap $1.99 mug ‍ Wish we would have found a different shop, but there are 3 others exactly like this one and owned by the same company so I'm not sure anything would have been different. This place isn't Macy's Department store but it's a decent beach store with beach related items. Employees were attempting to tidy up the merchandise but patrons were rambling through things faster than they could fold t-shirts. We stopped in to buy some souvenir gifts for the folks back home. I found a really cool short sleeved Crab Island shirt. They even sold cloth face masks with cool designs. They have an extensive selection of sun screen products. The prices were good. I did not bring my swimsuit when I visited Destin. The beach is so beautiful and they are calling. Since I spent a night here, I decided to visit this discount store. The swimming wears here is about 50% off the sticker price advertised at the front. I walk in and going to look for one. The store is big. They have dressing rooms to try on. I have pick one that match my size and try on. I found one that can air dry easy and fit me. The current technology is very good. The air dry may be in two hour and you can wear it on the street and beach. The store sells a lot of things. From beach equipment such as tower, beach chairs, umbrella, inflatable float, and the swimwear. Plenty of color and size to select from. One thing they need to improve on is the checkout. Many have come not for the swimwear but for the gift items and t shirt. Since it has discounts, they have a lot items on their hand. The line is getting long for one item like me. They need to open more cashiers. read more

The shirt I purchased for my son 2 days ago and he wore once has completely peeled off. It hasn't even been washed yet. I took the shirt in to see if it could be returned or exchanged for a different in store item and the rude worker at the counter said I would need my receipt; which was taken out with the trash at the hotel 2 days ago. I've been coming here for years, 2-3 times a year. I'm giving AA 3 stars because I feel like the variety & quality of merchandise is good and considering the tourist traffic they must get, & tee shirt folding they have to do, the store is pretty orderly. My complaint is the workers are consistently so unfriendly. They act completely put out if you ask them a question and their responses are dismissive and very cold. I really get the vibe that they hate their customers. I get it, dealing with tourists day after day and continually tidying up clothing must suck, but geez, can't you fake it just a little? I recognize their faces as the same employees year after year so the owner must put up with this terrible kind of customer service. I guess he/she thinks the word won't get around how coldly they treat their customers. The next time I'm in town I will check out other tee shirt stores to see if any are friendlier. I hate to patronize an establishment that doesn't appreciate my business . I spent $140 today. I usually spend more at these types of stores but the lady folding tee shirts and the one at the cash register couldn't be bothered to find me the size I was looking for. read more

We won't shop at this location. The website said they should be open until 11pm. At 9:45 we pulled up and tried to walk in the door. We we're looking specifically for an item that one of the other locations didn't have. We could have run in and out of there in 10 minutes or less. One of the works saw us and instead of politely saying they were closing she unlocked and locked the door as we were standing there. Completely rude. I called the store and asked to speak to the manager. The manager said they close at 10 but have to lock the door 15 minutes early so the workers can leave by 10. If your store doesn't close till 10, your doors should be open till 10. That's retail! read more

Accidentally knocked two shirts off the rack and got told off by an employee who then proceeded to flip me off after I left the building. In my 4 minutes in the establishment, I noticed the aisles were way too small for any sized human being (barring children). The employees are the absolute worst. Me and my family came in and yes we understand we are a big family but when they came in the talked bad about us right in front of us. They came up to us and told us that we were too much and we would create too much work for them. Some of us ignored them but when we tried to check out, we waited there for 5 min before they told us their systems were down and they can't check us out but there were other customers checking out around us. My family and I were in dire need of some destin shirts so what better place then to go to Alvin's Island!? We went to all of the Alvin stores and other tropical beachwear stores and we decided that "store 750" is by far the best on all of scenic 98. From the amazing workers who work endlessly folding T-shirts, to the amazing Destin apparel they have on the clearance rack outside! They even made a point to say they remembered us from when we were in the store earlier that week which made us feel noticed and seen! We truly thought that store 750 is the home base of all Alvin Island stores. Every single one of them wore masks which made me feel safe as I walked through the store. I have never written a review on anything, but this one was needed! read more

I was so disappointed with the quality of the merchandise. I bought a little onesie for a grand baby and a little dress for another grand baby. They each had "Destin" lettering on the front. Before I even gave the onesie, the lettering had started to come off. The lettering began coming off the dress after only one wearing. I also bought 2 T-shirt style dresses for myself. The seam started to come out of one the first time I wore it. The other one had crooked seams down the sides of the dress which I could not see until I wore it. We stopped at Alvin's on Scenic 98. It was 7 pm when we stopped. We had our windows cracked because our dog was in the car. We came out and the inside of the truck was soaked. I can only figure it was the sprinkler system. First of all why would you have a sprinkler system come on why you were still open and why in the parking lot.
