The store is massive and has a ton of the usual tourist/souvenir things to buy. Everything was under $20 and all of us found what we wanted for the most part. I only say that because we didn't have the energy to go through the entire store. As far as service, we went back a second time to get something we decided to purchase. Buyer Beware at Alvin's Island. This location is a discount store with no refunds or exchanges so keep that in mind and make your purchase accordingly. We've purchased items that have lasted years and purchased some that ripped as soon as we put them on. It's hit or miss. This last time we got a long sleeve t-shirt that ripped at the shoulder seam as soon as my husband put it on. I'd recommend if shopping here to thoroughly check each item for holes, rips, stains, etc. We usually stop in here for sweatshirts because they're only 19.99 and we've learned our lesson that we need to thoroughly check them before purchase. If you're looking for something that lasts, you'd be better off to go to Ron Jon because their sweatshirts last forever! We also pick up small trinkets here but depending on the item, the pricing is usually comparable to other stores that stand behind their products. Bottom Line, you get what you pay for. read more

I twice in the past year had coworkers pick up NASA bucket hats there to give out as gifts. You will never find a better $10 bucket hat. The Cocoa Beach hoodies, again after good quality dir $19.99, yeah go to Ron Jons and pay $35 for same quality, but different print. The $10 beach towels aren't the best, but you got what you paid for. The Macedonian woman behind the counter was a true pleasure. Read her sign, if you want to complain, give her the $10, a great and funny sign. I have continually bought souvenirs over the past 20 years from this place, and will continue to do so. Less than one star! This establishment discriminates!!! They break ADA laws and told me to leave because I had a service dog. Even after I told them it was a service dog. They did so from across the store which made my disability a public issue. Upon my reply in kind I was then treated like something was wrong with me! The behavior was hostile and discriminatory! The whole incident resulted in having to sit in my car trying to get calm enough to drive, I was too shaken by their behavior to operate my vehicle right away!!! As we walked around the store. An employee yelled 1/2 way across the store at my 3 yr old granddaughter about touch in scooter. She wanted to ask her mom if she could get it. They followed us around the store as we were theives! We ended up spending over $100 dollars at a $9.99 store. Easy to do but at what cost? As we got in our cars to go. The same employee was vaping in the doorway again because we were the only customers that were in and out of the stores. read more

I just visited the store at 3650 N. Atlantic Blvd, Cocoa Beach. The store number is 756. I was making a purchase on 27 March. The sales receipt photo is attached. The card I was using, I wanted to go to debit instead of credit card. I asked the male sales rep to cancel the order and to run it through as debit. He started to get hostile with me, stated that the bill has already gone through and there was nothing he could do. I stated that I did not believe that and wanted to speak to the manager. When we first walked in it sounded like we were in a machine factory. Granted there is a lot of merchandise at a great bargain but the staff was not very helpful nor polite. We felt like we were being followed around and at one point the lady actually gave me a dirty look for messing up the rack by looking at a t-Shirt. My son looked at a shirt and she got mad because he unbuttoned it to try it on. I wish I could give zero stars but that is not an option apparently!! My husband wears a mask that goes around the neck because of his breathing issues. This mask has been just fine EVERYWHERE else for the last year!!! As we were leaving, the owner of the business walked in with his mask lowered to under his chin covering NOTHING. I guess these people do not want any business by reading previous reviews of the same complaint. We were also the ONLY customers in the store so they have ran all of the customers away it looks like. While shopping at store #756 in Cocoa Beach, I suddenly became very I'll due to an allergic reaction and needed a restroom immediately. I walked back towards the fitting rooms thinking I would find a restroom. I asked a young female employee if they had a restroom I could use because I was ill, doubled over in pain, in tears. She replied "it's for employees only" to which I replied "I can't make it anywhere else, you can hold my purse and I'll go in empty handed. She told me to go across the street. I said I wasn't sure I could make it. She said "I hope you make it" with a smirk. In desperation I threw items to my husband and ran next door. After using the restroom of a restaurant next door and purchasing a soda, I returned to Alvin's to purchase the items I had thrown at my husband. As I walked in the door an older man behind the register yelled at me to leave the drink outside. I replied "I need to find my family, y'all sent me next door to use the restroom." Manager and veteran employee have a relationship not to be broken by a customer complaint. Never will I spend or recommend anyone giving any of your time or money to these people. What a crappy place to shop - had my grandkids with me and we were going to buy their little maracas (plus about $200 worth of other stuff). First off, the old lady and the young girl were talking about hangovers then the maraca my grandson had broke and the sand stuff went on the floor. They saw it happened so we didn't feel the need to tell them it broke - then they said loud enough for every one to here thanks for telling us. Yea thanks for letting us know. Visit was on Sunday March 3, 2019. Was just in line behind a black guy. Dreadlocks in his hair, dressed in appropriate beach attire, tee shirt and shorts. Wanted to try in a pair of swim trunks. We watched who appeared to be the manager require the cashier to put a security device on the shorts before allowing him to try them on. They were short with him. Finally he said it's ok that he would purchase them anyway. They were rude in saying that swim trunk sales are final. He said ok. Then, gave him grief about making change for whatever cash he had. He finally let us go on ahead of him. They were very nice to us. We feel like he was racially profiled. We could be wrong but we felt like he was discriminated against. Not cool Alvin's. And to be clear, someone has to unlock the dressing room and they are standing right outside of them. I know because I tried on a swimsuit. I went to return a shirt that I bought there because the print was coming off after 1 wear. I just wanted to even exchange it. the manager would not exchange because I did not have my receipt. There were 5 signs at the door saying you had to wear a face mask to enter. I use a face shield because I'm allergic to most masks and I have difficulty breathing through them. A young lady standing at the door said face shields are no longer allowed and I MUST wear a mask. I politely told her I would take my business elsewhere! There is NO PROOF THAT A MASK IS ANY BETTER THAN A SHIELD!! In fact, a shield protects others BETTER than a mask!! I'VE NEVER BEEN TURNED AWAY FROM ANY RESTAURANT OR STORE in the last 8 or 9 months in 10 states BECAUSE OF MY FACE SHIELD UNTIL TODAY. How ridiculous it is if that's TRULY your policy or just THAT EMPLOYEES INTERPRETATION of your policy. Anyway, she/you probably cost yourself quite a bit of business because I will remember the name if your store as I see that you have MANY LOCATIONS. We were souvenir shopping, and stopped in this shop. When we walked in, our 5 year old picked up a toy that made noise, a hand drum. A male, in his mid to late 50's with a strong accent very rudely said, "thank you, you can put that down now". My husband turned around and said , "excuse me, I didn't hear you." The man repeated himself, "put it down now, or leave." I hope that this place goes under and he is under it when it crumbles. As we walked out he said , "we 't need customers like you in here anyway. We do fine without you". If he doesn't want the children playing (checking out the merchandise), don't put it in the very front of the store and don't put it to where little kids can reach.
