We really enjoyed our experience with John and Always Hauling. Everything was just so easy. We told them exactly what we needed removed, a large rusty gas grill, and our location. The price we were quoted was under $100 so very affordable for our budget. Always Hauling was not only very reasonably priced, but they were so timely and efficient. They came to our home within 48 hours of our request, it could have been even sooner if our elevator didn't need to be repaired. The arrived on time and the whole thing was done in 10 minutes. They were so nice and friendly too and a pleasure to work with start to finish. Finally the price they quoted was the price we paid. They certainly over cent and more. I would never recommend this service to get a job done efficiently and quickly. To make a long story short, he showed up and quoted me a number, give or take a little bit but not by much. The day he came for service, he was late and doubled the estimate even though the condition and items needing removal were the same. The worst part about this is that I hired this service for my Real Estate buyers who had just closed on the home, and after I introduced them I left to go meet with another client, which I told him I was going to do. I asked him to invoice me and I would be paying it as soon as the work was finished. He agreed. I got out of my meeting two hours later to 13 missed calls and 16 texts from Joe that he wanted half of the payment before taking the first load to the dump. I unfortunately was in an area with minimal phone service and could not reach out to him as I was on my way to another appointment. What ended up happening was that he had me pay half of the money before he would finish the job, which I did. I told him I would complete payment when the job was done. He assured me he would finish same day. I did not hear back from him that day. I found out the next day that he showed up at my clients house with a truck load of garbage threatening to dump it in their driveway if the entire payment was not made. I made the payment and he finally finished the job, even though that was not the agreement. Communication and professionalism are non existent and if you want something done hassle free, don't call this guy up. read more

I have used John at Always Hauling about 4 times over the last 18 months. Each time, John has arrived on time and has provided a reasonable quote for doing the job. John was also good about picking up some junk at a couple different locations in the city on the same day. His quoted rate could vary depending on the size of the load, and also how much work it's gonna take to get the stuff into the truck. John helped me haul away a large pile of junk I had left on the street curb, and the cost was really reasonable since it was a quick job. If accessibility is an issue (e.g., a long walk or up a lot of stairs), then the price will increase but it's still reasonable. It all depends on the amount of labor required ... more labor = more $, but the nice thing about John is that he takes all that into consideration. That's why it's usually best to have John give you a quote in person, so he can gauge how much work it's gonna take to get the job done. Scheduled an appointment with them for 10-11am. 10:00 came around and I was told they would be late, and they asked if 12-1 would work. 1:00 comes around and no one is here. Fool me once, shame on you. I'm not going to let someone fool me a second time. I had lunch plans to go to, and told them that this isn't going to work out. At 1:30, they came by while I was out at lunch, and I had to reiterate that this wasn't going to happen. They showed their irresponsibility by being unable to keep a schedule and a general lack of effective communication. I contacted always hauling through yelp's request a quote option(they gave the best price), and John got back to me through the messaging within an hour. He was able to schedule me in 2 days later and they cleaned out 1 car garage's worth of junk. There were some items that were in good condition and they made a pile of those to send to goodwill. The two people who came out, John and I forgot the other guy's name, were really friendly, fast, gave courteous service, and swept the garage when they were done. They accept credit cards too. Used Always Hauling twice in the last few weeks. The first time I needed a BBQ hauled away within two days. John responded within 20 minutes with a quote and then was able to come by the next day and haul it away. They wouldn't even let me help because they didn't want me to get dirty lifting the BBQ. Two weeks later I scheduled with them to haul away an entire hillside of cut berry bushes. They worked for two hours with me on a very steep hill hauling the brush off the hillside and into their truck. These guys are really rock stars. I contacted John because another website said he hauls away items to be donated. I thought I was going to donate the couch that didn't fit in my apartment door. I ended up sending it back to my old apartment. I also ended up finding a replacement couch and to my surprise John made time in his schedule to pick up the new couch before coming to my place to take the top large couch back to my old place. When the new Sleeper couch opened up on top of him he didn't complain. And I'm sure it hurt! He just took a breath, came up with a solution and moved on with poise. Just to give you an idea - the new couch was in Queen Anne, the top big couch in Northgate, and the old apartment was in West Seattle. He and his colleague did a wonderful job. His truck is very basic but he gets the job done on a fixed budget and with excellent care and attention. I have booked John and his team on three separate times as we slowly clear out our backyard. He responds promptly, can be scheduled FAST, and arrives on time or follows up via text when he is running late. They work hard and quickly, stick to their quotes as much as possible (there is always some variation as they start demolishing and digging, but John always keeps me updated throughout the job if the haul starts to be larger/heavier than expected.)
