I can't believe that I've never left a review here! I have been coming to Kevin for YEARS now for my CPR certification. I need to renew again and this will be my 4th renewal with them. Classes are simple, Kevin is kind and knowledgeable and funny. You get your certification on the same day. Best part? I've always done them online and you get the same exact card that you would get if you showed up in person. Some companies are strict on going in person and with the card that you get they wont know if you showed up in person or online. Mind you, none of the companies I've worked for have cared but still. I previously completed my CPR certification at Always Safe & Healthy and had a great experience, 5 stars; pricing was fair, instructor was knowledgeable, and completing the course was simple and convenient. Fast forward two years later, I knew I wanted to return to Always Safe & Healthy for my renewal, particularly the skills portion. However, the coordinator was slightly off putting, maybe I caught her on a bad day. She was initially helpful, but later provided incorrect pricing for courses and did not answer clarification questions I had. I felt like I was chasing her in order to enroll for a course. At the end of the day, I went with a different company and completed my renewal quick and easy. I'm sorry to dock stars because I know the company and instructor is good, but the interaction I had with the coordinator was fair at best and made me not want to schedule a course with them. read more

Attended the ACLS Initial course because I made a mistake and let my ACLS certificate expire last year as a board-certified clinical pharmacist working in a community hospital (for some addt'l context). There was a small hiccup trying to load the ACLS videos on the AHA website but Kevin's style of instruction more than made up for that. It's much more interactive with an increased focus on critical thinking/analysis as well as a different approach to understanding and recognizing those pesky rhythm strips that I found refreshing, innovative and helpful. He had many other clinical tidbits/pearls to share that were new to me. FYI while this is a virtual environment (Zoom), I don't feel it made a difference vs learning in person with a mannequin. If you need to practice chest compressions (and everything else that goes with that), there are other courses for that, i.e. BLS. We still did the mega code in the end of course. The environment was relaxed while remaining focused. There were only 3 of us which did speed things up and also allowed plenty of time for Q&A. He had many interesting anecdotes to share from his time as a healthcare provider. Oh, and Kevin also mentioned that you can audit (attend for free) the same ACLS course up to 12 months after if you feel the need to, i.e. change jobs. I rarely write reviews but Kevin exceeded expectations in a very good way. So much that I felt compelled to write this review to let others know. Highly recommend if you want to learn in a focused yet relaxed environment. p.s. Called to try to sign up my wife for a CPR class and was told that all classes were done virtually. When I asked how the compressions and other skills would be practiced, they said you can just practice with a stuffed animal and they watch you on a video. Maybe this is a place more for people that need an ACLS or BLS renewal on easy street, but don't count on them teaching you any legit CPR virtually. read more

I realized my latest BLS was not AHA certified, which my new hospital required. I searched on yelp for places nearby and this place was offering a class that very night! Pros: - AHA certified - Close to my house - Able to book a class the same day - Once I passed the class, I got my BLS card emailed to me within a few hours - Plenty of parking - Plenty of dummies to practice on - Instructor was concise and clear in her teaching. Scam... I signed up for a class. Since it wasn't through direct website of theirs. Some how they can add it through the AHA website. When I got to the Escondido location it was a different business. Called they said they didn't to the class to day because of few people and the do it through zoom. I don't know how to report to the AHA... read more

I am a nursing student and came to Always Safe and Healthy in Diamond Bar with a classmate of mine for our BLS renewal and ACLS initial certification. Kevin is a wealth of knowledge and did a fantastic job at presenting the information. I walked out of the class feeling very confident and knowledgeable with the information I received. He makes it a point for every student to have a good understanding of the information before leaving his class, and truly takes the time and effort to ensure that. Took my BLS And first aid training here. It's a super easy process , you can either sign up online or on the phone. Once you sign up, depending on the class, you take an online portion and then show up for a ~3hr sesh in person training. Kevin was our instructor and he was super informative, clear, and an interesting guy. Highly recommend, lots of availability also precautions were took for COVID19. One thing though... I don't think you should follow the yelp directions to this place . It took me to the neighborhoods, but be rest assured this place is located in a gray building. read more

Warning! Look at the photo of "20709" right next to LA fitness first! This place is hard to find! Grace is an awesome instructor! She's very charismatic and makes the learning fun! "Don't forget to call 911!" Everything was easy to learn. It was mostly video and then practical exercises. Impossible to fail if you're motivated to learn. Some of the dummies are busted so be sure to let your instructor know. Also, the written test has a few trick questions so make sure you read through something multiple times if you're not sure. Bonus: I sat next to a cute Hapa girl that showed up late. Hope she didn't catch me checking her out! LOL! Phew! Shouldn't be drinking Mountain Dew this late. Only downside is class 3 1/2 hours long when The CPR Lady in Carson is only 2 hours and gives you coffee. Will definitely come back in two years! read more
