I have used them for various projects at my home over the last year or so and everyone that has came to my house has been wonderful. It's easy to reach customer service and if they are on another call I have always received a promptly returned phone call. Not only have I been able to get a plumber to my house the next day for serious issues, but they always give me an appointment time in a two hour window. If you have ever waited all afternoon for a repairman you realize how nice it is to not wait all day for the repairman to show up! Not only do they give a short time window, but they always confirm the appointments the day prior and call as the plumber is on the way. The promptness and skill of Bayshore Plumbing is amazing, but here is where the company isn't so amazing... their pricing. Bayshore Plumbing is incredibly expensive. They charge $225 for the first hour and after the first hour they charge $112.50 for every additional half hour. I don't have an issue with this pricing plan for large projects, but this pricing plan makes me hesitate to call the company for smaller projects. I get it... gas prices are expensive and the time spent commuting to my house could be spent on another customer, but when they didn't have a replacement part for my water softener I had to pay $225 for the plumber to make a second trip to my house for 5 minutes of work. I ended up having the plumber check all the pipes in my house for leaks or clogs just so I could justify paying over $200 for a five minute project, but at the end of the day I was annoyed that I had to pay for an unnecessary visit just because they had to order a part. In my opinion they were completing the original project that they had not finished and so I felt that they should have only charged me for half an hour instead of a full hour. I don't mind paying a premium price as long as I am receiving a premium service. Recently we went on vacation and had a leaky toilet. I suspected that the gasket needed replaced and this would be a quick fix. I didn't want to pay $225 for such a quick project so instead I asked if they could first descale our water heater. Descaling a water heater is usually a one hour project, but I figured I would rather pay $335 for two projects instead $225 for one tiny project. Customer service gave me a hard time about booking two projects and argued that the toilet might not be an easy fix and she would normally book these projects on two separate visits. I understood her concern, but there is no way that I was going to pay $225 for a potentially small project. I finally convinced her to book both projects together, but she told me she was making an exception for me and this is not how they make appointments. Going forward I need to find a new plumber for small home plumbing projects, but I would continue using Bayshore Plumbing for major plumbing repairs.

DAVID checked out my system, even got the dead compressor running for a bit - evaluated what I had, what was going on with my outdated system. No razzle-dazzle, no dog & pony show, just an honest straight-forward proposal that was very competitive. Of course I wanted a good price, but price is only part of the equation. So we went with K & L - and in a few days they gave me an install date. Their installers were right on time. VERY respectful of our home, mindful of our possessions, furnishings etc. They DID NOT track anything in, despite my yard being a bit muddy. They worked as quietly as possible. No blasting radio ( which might have annoyed neighbors, ) and they went so far as to tell me what they were doing as the process went along. Kenny, the owner, came by to say hi and make sure the job was going smoothly. Job was completed by 3:30, The guys made sure everything was operating properly, then cleaned up, junk hauled away - So the installation was as ideal as anyone could ever want or expect. First, I have never disputed that the capacitor tested poorly and needed replacement. That is not the issue. The issue is how the overall service was presented. We called for an intermittent ticking noise while our AC was cooling properly. Multiple components were presented as the solution associated with that concern, yet the original noise was not properly identified or resolved. That distinction matters. Second, your statement regarding the refrigerant does not reflect what was communicated to us. My husband knew the price per pound. Cost was not the reason he limited the refrigerant. He specifically asked your technician how much refrigerant the system needed, and the technician responded that he did not know and told my husband to tell him when to stop. My husband stopped him at two pounds because he was being asked to authorize an unknown quantity without being given a clear target. We strongly dispute any documentation suggesting otherwise. Third, although your technician mentioned a possible leak and used electronic detection equipment, no leak was located. Your own subsequent visit also failed to locate a leak. The independent company we hired has likewise been unable to identify the leak your original technician suspected. That company has had to continue diagnosing and monitoring the system. Saying that additional refrigerant was later provided "at no charge" also does not erase our concern about how the original service was handled. By that point, our home was experiencing cooling problems that did not exist before the original appointment, and our family had already incurred additional expenses, including two nights in a hotel with our minor child. Regarding the signed paperwork, this is also part of our dispute. The documents were presented electronically and scrolled through for signatures. The technician's detailed narrative was not individually reviewed with us before signing. Therefore, repeatedly referring to a signature does not resolve our disagreement about what was actually said and communicated during the appointment. We have never asked Alvarez for financial gain. We asked for a reasonable refund so that we could apply those funds toward properly addressing the system with the company now assisting us. We were even willing to discuss Alvarez retaining the reasonable cost of components that were actually necessary. I understand that Alvarez chooses to stand behind its technician and internal documentation. We stand behind what actually occurred in our home. Those are two different accounts, and repeating the company's notes publicly does not make our experience untrue. We contacted your company for a noise not because our home was hot or because our AC had stopped cooling. What followed was a confusing, sales-driven experience, disputed documentation, refrigerant added without a clearly communicated target, additional service visits, additional expenses, and ultimately a loss of confidence in your company. We attempted to resolve this privately and requested what we believed was a reasonable resolution. Alvarez declined. At this point, I will not continue debating the same facts publicly. I stand by my review and my account of our experience. Any remaining dispute can be addressed through the appropriate consumer-protection and dispute-resolution channels.
