So let's start with the positive notes first. The plumbers at Bayshore Plumbing are very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. I have used them for various projects at my home over the last year or so and everyone that has came to my house has been wonderful. It's easy to reach customer service and if they are on another call I have always received a promptly returned phone call. Not only have I been able to get a plumber to my house the next day for serious issues, but they always give me an appointment time in a two hour window. If you have ever waited all afternoon for a repairman you realize how nice it is to not wait all day for the repairman to show up! Not only do they give a short time window, but they always confirm the appointments the day prior and call as the plumber is on the way. The promptness and skill of Bayshore Plumbing is amazing, but here is where the company isn't so amazing... their pricing. Bayshore Plumbing is incredibly expensive. They charge $225 for the first hour and after the first hour they charge $112.50 for every additional half hour. I don't have an issue with this pricing plan for large projects, but this pricing plan makes me hesitate to call the company for smaller projects. I get it... gas prices are expensive and the time spent commuting to my house could be spent on another customer, but when they didn't have a replacement part for my water softener I had to pay $225 for the plumber to make a second trip to my house for 5 minutes of work. I ended up having the plumber check all the pipes in my house for leaks or clogs just so I could justify paying over $200 for a five minute project, but at the end of the day I was annoyed that I had to pay for an unnecessary visit just because they had to order a part. In my opinion they were completing the original project that they had not finished and so I felt that they should have only charged me for half an hour instead of a full hour. I don't mind paying a premium price as long as I am receiving a premium service. Recently we went on vacation and had a leaky toilet. I suspected that the gasket needed replaced and this would be a quick fix. I didn't want to pay $225 for such a quick project so instead I asked if they could first descale our water heater. Descaling a water heater is usually a one hour project, but I figured I would rather pay $335 for two projects instead $225 for one tiny project. Customer service gave me a hard time about booking two projects and argued that the toilet might not be an easy fix and she would normally book these projects on two separate visits. I understood her concern, but there is no way that I was going to pay $225 for a potentially small project. I finally convinced her to book both projects together, but she told me she was making an exception for me and this is not how they make appointments. Going forward I need to find a new plumber for small home plumbing projects, but I would continue using Bayshore Plumbing for major plumbing repairs. read more

Unfortunately, I had a terrible experience with Bayshore Pumbing. I was charged $520 for an inexperienced Plumbr to change out a filter on one stidor vent, make a minor adjustment to a toilet and tell me I had a faulty mixing valve. Since he didn't have the part on his truck, he offered to come back with it for the initial charge of $245 an hr + parts. He also wanted to descale my water heater for another $250. I was aghast at how little was done for a $520 charge. Felt so taken advantage of! read more

Just moved back to South Tampa and called this company to fix a toilet and two master bathroom sinks that bubble when the shower is turned on. Day after, problem still happening, but I figured I'd give it a week to see if it would go away since they had me buy a new part, but it did not. A woman named Karen who answers the phone, told me I'd have to pay another $275 just for plumber to return. When I asked why I'd have to pay again since problem was not fixed, her voice changed and she became defensive/argumentative, asking if I had read the contract where it says there are no guarantees, that **** is 'our best plumber', asked why I waited to call back, stated over & over that it was toilet paper that clogged the pipes, etc. (it was definitely not a 'toilet paper' issue) and still demanded I pay $275 again. She spoke over me, cut me off, was rude until I was finally able to ask, 'Why are you arguing with a customer?' She abruptly answered she would have a supervisor call and hung up on me! How unprofessional! I am a single mother, a retired Veteran (no Vet discount either) and have already paid them a total of $700 in the past couple weeks. The least they could do is come and see what the problem really is instead of just putting a Band-Aid on it! Update: Almost a week later and nobody has called me back. I couldn't be happier with my dealings with Bayshore Plumbing. I had a number of plumbing jobs I wanted taken care of at home. I asked around for recommendations for a plumber. One friend of mine had recently dealt with Bayshore Plumbing. He had his traditional water heater replaced with a tankless water heater and he was very happy with the work that was done. I decided to go with his recommendation and get an estimate to see how much the work would cost me. Ron arrived on time to give me an estimate for the jobs I wanted done. There weren't any pushy sales tactics that were used and he was quite nice. Ron emailed me a detailed invoice that listed all the points that we discussed and the price that was offered. I emailed back and forth with him about a few additional questions I thought of later. Eventually when I decided to go with Bayshore Plumbing for my jobs the crew arrived on time, worked efficiently, and did a great job. When they were done I was charged what was expected. I've had Bayshore Plumbing out again for additional work and it was the same experience. They were on time and charged me what was expected. I will continue to be their happy customer. read more

If there was a rating below 1 I would give it! I paid them an insane amount of $$ to install a sink & garbage disposal that was prewired by a Licensed Electrician. Alex from Bayshore Plumbing shocked himself 5 times because he didn't know how to shut off the breaker switch. He had caulk on counters, new sink and faucet, under the sink to the point it was dripping under the sink. I asked him to clean it up because I am elderly and can't bend down. He pored the caulk down the new sink and garbage disposal. I asked him to stop and he wouldn't. I am still cleaning up chalk with a putty knife. I had to buy stainless steel cleaner to get the caulk off my new sink and fixtures. I told Alex the CAULK WOULD DAMAGE THE BRAND NEW GARBAGE DISPOSAL AND DRAIN PIPES. HE TOLD ME I WAS WRONG. EASY TO SAY TO AN ELDERLY WOMAN. The next day I used the garbage disposal and black, filthy, putrid, stench smelling, water backed up in the drainer sink without the disposal where my clean dishes were. I have a video I wish you could see. I wanted to throw up. I just cried and rewashed all the dishes. I don't have a dishwasher. I can't even use my Kitchen sink. I asked repeatedly for the manuals so I could file the warranty cards. Alex said they were on the counter. I wanted the box for the garbage disposal. I wanted the old sink to donate to a charity. I begged for these items. Alex couldn't run out of the house fast enough after he got the credit card. I kept asking where the manuals were. He said inside. HE DID NOT LEAVE ONE THING HE PROMISED. I WAS RUNNING BEHIND HIS TRUCK TO ASK FOR THEM. 66 years old on disability running after a truck. He didn't stop and I didn't get anything. The man with Alex installed a faucet and didn't know he had to use the washers and had to do the job twice and billed me for the time. There is so much more but I am sure you understand. After trying to make an appointment with them for a Friday afternoon I was refused and was told that people take off work for a plumber to come. I'm not impressed. The technicians are good, but the owner is the one I have an issue with. We have been using Bayshore Plumbing for some time and we should be considered good customers of theirs. We had them install a gas line for our grill and new water heater and during that install they removed our gas line to our furnace / heater leaving us without heat. We asked them to install what they improperly removed and they want to charge us for something that they did incorrectly. The owner was not willing to offer anything other than full charge. Attention Home owners This rating is based on a recent experience with Bayshore plumbing not previous ones. Before this incident I swore by this company. However I am so disappointed by the treatment I received from the very Plumber who I have bragged about to be great. I have nothing harsh to say about the ability of doing the job itself. My huge disappointment is in the blatant disregard for my home, furnishings and the nasty behavior toward me when I got on to both employees that were doing the work. There is no excuse ever for soiling walls and floors and thinking because you have a bottle of degreaser that you can continue doing what you are doing when I'm telling you not to. Then there was the issue of getting into a hollering match with me. If the employee(s) didn't want me to get on to them harshly they should have listened to me to begin with. The job is done and the water problem was fixed but this particular experience was horrible to go through. Caution to all home owners! Make sure you speak up in advance to whatever company you choose to use. Have them give you a description as to how they intend to protect your home and its furnishings before they begin working and see to it that they do It! I am giving Bayshore Plumbing one star not because of the quality of the plumber's work, which was very neat, but because of what we were not told was a viable repair option at the time of service. The job was simple: remove our broken toilet bowl and replace it with a new, one-piece toilet. Only the bowl was sitting on the floor when the plumber arrived - we had already removed the tank, as it was the part that broke. The plumber, Dan, only had to remove the two bolts holding down the toilet, lift it off, clean up a little, put on a new wax ring, and lower the new toilet onto the bolts. The old toilet did not wobble at all, and the bolts were secure in the floor, so I was a little surprised when Dan told me that one side of the flange had a small tear in it, and he doubted the bolt would fasten securely. Not sure when this tear occurred - possibly when he lifted the old bowl up? No way of knowing that. Anyway, Dan asked me if I wish to install a new flange, which would entail cutting, gluing, waiting for the glue to dry, etc - at least another hour's work, if not 90 minutes. At this point he hadn't said that the bolt would not tighten AT ALL, merely that it might not be as secure as I would like, and I opted not to do the extra repair. As it turned out, when he lowered the toilet onto the new bolts, the one on the left did not tighten - in fact, it lifted right out, but I didn't find this out until after he had left, when I removed the cap to look underneath. Dan thought perhaps the caulk, together with the one bolt, would hold the toilet down, if we weren't too rough on it and gave the caulk a few days to mature. So here is my beef: NEVER ONCE did he mention that there was a simple repair in the form of a flange saver, an inexpensive metal part that is commonly used in cases such as these, when the flange is essentially good, but needs a little repair. I discovered this part after Googling "flange repair". When I called Bayshore this morning to voice my complaint, I was told by a very nice employee named Andy (Andie?) that the Master Plumber considered a flange saver nothing but a Band-Aid, and that is why Dan had not offered us the option. Regardless of what the Master Plumber considers a proper toilet installation, a flange saver that would have held down the second bolt would certainly be a preferable solution to what we have now - one bolt and caulking - to hold our toilet secure. And he certainly should have told us about this BEFORE the job was finished. I would happily pay for a flange saver and new wax ring if Bayshore Plumbing would send someone back to put it on for us, but that is not going to happen. It was not even offered. I will not use this company again, even though they were highly recommended by a dear friend. Too bad - I was intending to refer them to my wide circle of friends and clients, all of whom are always looking for a dependable and honest plumber. I guess repeat business is not important to Bayshore Plumbing. They have lost a good referral source in me. read more

The scheduled was for 8-9am and Jarrod showed up promptly at 8am; 4 hours later we have a shower! In addition to calmly explaining what needed to be done, getting it done and schedulling a follow up. Not a good experience. We ended up having more issues than we had before we paid them over $400 for simple repairs. We had a major leak when the water supply valve on a toilet came out of the wall. The "more" experienced plumber did not know how to shut off the main water supply and we had to wait for 30 minutes before the owner Ron could made it over and shut it down in a matter of minutes. The supply valve they replaced continues to leak and has lead to floor and wall damage and they are taking ZERO responsibility for their work. Ron states that we need to go through our homeowners insurance. It is unfortunate as they are good people and very professional on the front end. The woman handling appointments is very attentive and responsive but this was a very bad experience and unprofessional outcome. Beware. read more

I had Bayshore Plumbing out to fix a broken shower valve. They had no idea where the valve came from so they took pictures of it to show a supplier. Several weeks later I received a bill of $392 for "research" to locate the valve. It would have been nice if they would have told me up front they were going to charge me a "research" fee. read more

I called and asked for an estimate for a lack of cold water in one shower and replacement of some galvanized pipes leading to the house. They sent someone over the next day to look at the lack of cold water and the guy spent 20 minutes talking about his hobby of metal detection before even looking at the problem faucet. Then when he did look at the faucet he said it needed a new cartridge as the (brand new) one on it was "jammed". I told him I would buy a new cartridge and replace myself if that was all it was. He then proceeded to tell me it would be $160 for the visit which was a shock to me since he didn't fix anything and I thought I was getting an estimate for repairs. Within 15 minutes of him leaving I was able to take the cartridge apart (something he didn't even attempt) and get the piece that was "jammed" freely moving again. This guy supposedly had 40 years of plumbing experience and I have ZERO years yet I was able to fix it with (of all things) a couple taps of a hammer and some needle nose pliers. I called to tell them I fixed the problem they couldn't fix and not to bother sending someone over to estimate the other repairs. I wish I tried the DIY approach before calling them out, what a waste of my time! read more

The worst. Installed a gas line for my pool heater and ran it under the drain for the a/c condensation. When I called them back to fix the mistake they charged me another $100 and added a $2 plastic elbow they should have used in the first place, and were rude and condescending. By then the gas pipe had already started to corrode and eventually had to be replaced. Not by them -- never again. read more

Just before Thanksgiving, we called the local family owner plumbing company we have used for years because our kitchen sink was draining slow. After he snaked the drain, our washer drain overflowed. He came back to snake that drain, but after trying he said there was a bad trap under the floor. He needed to tear up the tile floor under the washer to replace the trap, but we would have to wait after Thanksgiving. He rigged the washer to drain out the window so we could continue to do laundry until it could be fixed. We waited over two weeks. When we didn't hear back from him, we called Bayshore Plumbing. They sent someone out the next day. He snaked all our drains and fixed the problem without having to demolish anything! We now have a new go-to plumber for our whole family. read more

After tryng many days of finding the correct material we finally had the landlord call us and he sent the correct shower nomenclature. We were able to order it and then sent a Service Tech to repair the valve and pay us for our time. read more
