On arrival day, the crew showed up with all the equipment we needed, and we were given clear instructions before the move. Heavy furniture was properly wrapped, and fragile boxes were loaded separately to prevent damage. The unloading was just as streamlined as the loading, and each box was put where we said. If I can prevent one person from booking this company, then this review has done its job. This was one of the most stressful and unprofessional moving experiences I've had. Keep in mind I was moving from TX to CA. During move-out, the crew stacked boxes carelessly on top of each other, causing them to fall and dent my trash can. A mover even left a bloody thumbprint on my door (eeks!) Then at delivery, the company tacked on multiple last-minute fees, increasing the total cost by roughly 20%. This included an elevator charge, which they never mentioned even when I had disclosed from the very beginning that my building has an elevator. Also, usually moving companies charge for STAIRS, not elevators?!?! I was also charged for a shuttle service, which you think would eliminate any long-carry or distance issues, but they STILL charged a long-carry fee, which does NOT make sense because they barely walked. I also need to point out that their so-called "shuttle service" is them renting a u-haul. Keep in mind, this was all during the day of, during the move and so it felt like I was under pressure to pay for all these surprise charges on the spot and left me feeling cornered into paying for things that were not previously agreed upon. The company frequently uses vague language like "should" instead of clear commitments, creating a false sense of security while leaving customers vulnerable to surprise charges. Despite them saying that they manage the move end-to-end with their own people, the delivery was handled by a third party contractor, not company employees. Communicating was another major issue. My primary contact was unprofessional in written correspondence, using "lol," inconsistent capitalization, and an overly casual tone that felt inappropriate for a paid service. My office desk drawers arrived damaged, and when unpacking, the crew couldn't find the feet for my TV and left my TV not set up. The delivery process was stressful, and I was not asked to verify or count the boxes - I was simply told, "They should all be here." And guess what, my guitar stand was missing and I got a box that didn't belong to me (whoever's missing their mattress protector I'm sorry). We did a regular move but also included a complete remote workplace, with desks, monitors, a printer and files. I was particularly worried about the computer equipment, as I work from home daily. The screens, cables and office accessories were each individually protected. The desks were dismantled, and all the screws were stored in labeled bags. Important documents were stored in marked boxes to avoid getting lost among household items. They also put our stuff in our kitchen and living room, dividing the space. The truck was on time to the new address, and unloading began immediately. It started raining while they were moving, but they were careful and had covers to protect them. Fortunately, the boxes remained dry, including some with electronics and papers. They were delivered at around 10 pm. Movers showed up, added maybe $5,000 to the price, which, given that my home was selling in about 2 days and they already had my deposit I could not argue or just get new movers. Congrats AM Moving, you took me for more $. You win, this customer loses. THEN, when they got to the delivery location, their 3rd party contractor said he could not drive his particular truck up my new driveway because of the "hill." The "hill" had an incline of about 25 degrees for maybe 20 feet; you'd find much more hilly roads in normal neighborhoods. He said I would have to pay an extra $3,000 to get my stuff. When I complained to management they said it was in the contract, and they would, graciously, allow me to only pay a $2,000 fee. Bear in mind they have all of my household goods. The management person I spoke to told me it was in the contract that they could charge me that much more. ***How hard would it be to look at the address on any map program and see this "hill" and ensure that your customers stuff gets put in a hill capable truck??????? Maybe that's 2 minutes online?*** Instead of their graciously reduced $2,000 fee I had to have the stuff put in storage and delivered by a separate moving company at my additional expense. Congrats AM Moving, you, again, took me for even more $. I asked for an estimate for my move a few weeks in advance. I was given a price based on the company's viewing of my home room by room and the yard. Then when the movers arrived, their first statement was that they could not take all of my things; that the truck wasn't big enough. I had to rent a truck myself for an extra $300. Plus, although they did a good job they broke a very large desk making it unusable. The reimbursement process was complicated and finally required me to have it notarized and they offered me only $82 for a $590 desk! I still have no refund of any sort. The kitchen packing was carried out meticulously, particularly for the glassware and small appliances. There were a few large plants that required special attention, and they were properly cared for. The loading period was most of the day, but the team was polite and focused. The truck had to be moved around a little before it got back onto the street. Otherwise, the program was the same as we were informed. The delivery was last weekend at 7 pm. When the movers left, they had placed the beds and large furniture in the appropriate rooms. Completely dishonest, unprofessional, and disrespectful from start to finish. I referred Donnie a long-distance move for my clients, and from the very beginning it was a mess. He rushed through the phone call, failed to gather basic and necessary information, and quoted my clients $1,500, which turned out to be wildly inaccurate. When the movers actually showed up, the price magically jumped to $2,300 -- and even after paying that inflated amount, they still didn't move everything. My clients were forced to rent a U-Haul themselves just to finish the move. Absolutely unacceptable. Communication was nonexistent. At pickup, the movers couldn't even give a rough estimate of when the items would be delivered. My clients' belongings were left in limbo for days, and it took countless phone calls just to get a vague update on where their items were and when they might arrive. This level of disorganization is shocking for a company that claims to be professional. On top of all that, Donnie personally put in writing that I would receive a referral fee. When I followed up to resolve the issue professionally, he completely dodged responsibility -- ignoring messages, blocking my calls, and refusing to communicate at all. That alone should tell you everything you need to know about his character and how this company operates. We have moved many times, but this moving company is absolutely horrible! I called and received a quote (I was told there would not be any additional charges per Donnie Mattox). Moving day came, and it was a nightmare. we had a mobile shelf in the garage, all they had to do is wheel it on the truck, but no they, took everything off loaded the shelf then put things all over the truck (not on the shelving). Next day to unload and it was a mess! including that shelf again, we have movers before they shrink wrap it, roll it on and roll off, pretty simple. I was charged an additional 2 hours; this was due to them unloading that shelf (on Wheels) that didn't need to be done in the first place. We were moving between two houses in two different cities and required two moving vans. The first crew who showed up seemed okay and were working diligently and quickly. The second crew showed up about 4 hours later and were disorganized and I'd catch a few of them on their phones. They finished around 8:00 and took the vans away. We were told they would be at our house in the new city the next morning at 6:00. We drove our personal cars to the new city (about 4 hours away) and woke up at 5:00 to be ready for them. The first moving van didn't arrive until 10:00 am. The second moving van didn't arrive until much later after that. They were rushed and didn't follow instructions on where to place boxes. They were literally tossing boxes around and banging furniture into things in their attempt to finish quickly. Some of my china was broken, many of our pieces of furniture had huge scratches or chunks of woods missing. They hit several of the walls and ruined the new paint of them. When it came time for them to leave, we offered a small tip (small, because we weren't overly impressed) to the lead mover and told him to divide it between the 6 movers (three movers in group 1 and the other three in group 2), but to give more to his crew because they worked harder and longer. My husband caught him giving his crew $20 each and pocketing the rest!!!!!! My husband called him out on it. I wouldn't recommend this group to any one. Updating my review because I had another fantastic experience with AM Moving. I had a 1pm-4pm window for the movers to show up, and I got a call around noon. My team of movers had finished the earlier job and wanted to know if they could come rightaway (~12:30pm arrival). I asked if they could come at 1pm, since that is the earliest that I was expecting them, and they honored my request and showed up exactly at 1pm. The movers who helped me today are Rafael, Carson, and Kaleb, and they were amazing. I moved from a 1st floor to a 2nd floor with no elevator. The team was super fast, and they took really good care of my belongings. It was also a really hot day (high of 99 degrees) and there was not one complaint from anyone about the job. Prior to Move Day, I worked with Max on my quote and he made the process of booking the services super easy. I also appreciated the text reminders 5 days before the move and the day before. I am an anxious person and I feared that there would be a no show and I would be stuck with no movers (pretty much up until the movers actually arrived), so I appreciated the reminders, even if they were probably auto-generated. They were very responsive and felt promising that they would do a great job- we confirmed our move on Wednesday and again on Friday at 11am. However, later in the afternoon on Friday around 2:30pm they called stating they needed to reschedule for Monday giving us less than 24 hours notice. They said they'd callback Friday evening to see if they could still do our move Saturday afternoon but they never called. We assumed it was just rescheduled since they never called back, however, Kent did go to the warehouse to view the doors Saturday at 11am only two hours before our scheduled window for the move to then state that they would not fit in the truck. I will be writing an in depth detailed summary of my experience with this company once I've settled my bill with them and finish my move with another company. After a horrific 9 hour 2 bedroom apartment incomplete move, I refused to pay the entire amount due. Don't get me wrong. I will pay and expect nothing for free, but I will only pay what is reasonably fair. I understand that moves often take much longer than expected but I never imagined a two bedroom apartment taking 9 hours. Only to be incomplete. Their side of the story is that I had oversized furniture and a glass cabinet that was difficult to move. No, you sent a team that was unprepared. After explaining my stance on this DURING the move, they communicated that if i refused to pay, they would send police. That was the last straw. I called after 3 hours into the move to request help. Operations manager never followed up. What happened to customer service? More on that and a detailed timeline on my experience with this company. The next part means more to me than any amount of money I pay this company. I felt it was timely and critical to inform anyone looking for movers that the movers did not comply to wearing masks (after I asked three times). Only one of three men complied but often had his nose exposed. Not only upon arrival did they take off their masks, but didn't wear them in a building that houses senior citizens. I made it VERY clear that they needed to keep their masks on. As someone that routinely sees my extreme at risk parent, I find it disgraceful that despite the terrible experience I had, the worst part is any potential exposure to covid 19. Please consider another mover that offers a safe experience for you and your family. As a side note, the only time I took off my mask was when I went on my patio or used the restroom. Update: operations charged my card for the entire amount without my consent. I never signed the contract. Was told that they would deduct hours off of my move if i would delete this review. From the very beginning, Joe was very knowledgeable, accommodating and professional. He helped me understand the needs of my move, answered all my questions even when it came to storage on the other end, and was so flexible with all the changes due to the snow storm. One thing I really value is companies that treat their employees right and I was happy to see they would not risk their employees' safety to stay on schedule during the freezing storm. The moving team was made up of Luis P, Luis L. and Felix. They were fantastic! Luis L. Was the crew lead and clearly took a lot of pride in his work- he has former experience delivering with high-end furniture stores in Dallas. They were super careful with all of my belongings and I was amazed by how they loaded everything into the moving truck. We even passed them on the highway and we were so happy to see how carefully they were driving - we left a good while after them and know they didn't expect to see us. Price-wise, they were very fair. I received quotes from other companies and this was the most reasonable and clear quote I received. Other quotes were confusing, had additional add-ons in terms of possible fees, and I was unsure what I would pay in the end. Andres, Indio, Pedro Edit: I Reduced more stars due to discovering more severe damages to my furniture while unpacking after movers left. The movers tried their best to consider avoiding any damages to the furniture but their packing methods were lacking. I regrettably should have said something when I saw some of their methodologies but didn't want to be that guy that told them how to do their job. Since they are the professionals, I trusted they knew what they were doing. A few examples: The dents and scratches to my trashcan were caused by them placing their dolly on top of it in the truck. A trashcan might not sound like a big deal but we invested in a more premium one to use as an accent furniture piece, therefore these damages ultimately reduces it's decorative appeal. The most heartbreaking damages are the tears on my headboard leather. My bed is one of my most valuable pieces of furniture and I ensured to inform the movers of that. Unfortunately this did not prevent the damages. I can overlook the small scratches and dents to the wooden parts of the bed but tears to the leather need to be called out. The scrapes, dents and white powder covering my cabinet was caused by them flipping it upside down while moving it. They clarified with me if the cabinet was full and I informed them that yes it was full. By flipping the cabinet upside down, the baking soda inside spilled all over it and also caused the top edges to be scraped. There were more damages but I only shared these three to avoid writing a review more lengthy than it already is and still get the message across. Conclusion: It pains me to write this review since the movers worked so hard and I really appreciated their positive personalities but the company owners and other shoppers need to understand the company's areas of opportunities through honest reviews. read more

I had a fantastic experience with my movers KT, AJ and Jose from AM Moving Company. They communicated with me when they were on their way. I was moving from a one bedroom 3rd floor with stairs to a one bedroom 2nd floor with a service elevator. They were polite and organized, worked together nicely and handled my items with care. I had a couple of heavier pieces and pieces that required tear down and putting back together which they did with no issues. I called less than 24 hours before I needed our house moved to a storage unit. Note that I do not usually operate on short notice but....here we were. Anyway, as luck would have it they had a spot available on Sunday afternoon, did not ask me a bunch of questions about how many boxes and what size this or that and I booked the appointment within minutes. Joe was very professional and friendly over the phone and sent over a quote and confirmation immediately! Can all business transactions be like this?! I mean I booked a move faster than I can get a drink at a Starbucks drive-thru! And I did this without waking my sleeping toddler next to me. I received text messages confirming my move and the movers called me in advance to let me know they had finished another job early and wanted to know if they could start our house sooner than the original time. We agreed on 12 pm and their truck pulled up at 11:55 AM. I love when people are on time! And thank goodness they came early because we had quite a lot of things to move. We had a three man crew. They came with masks for COVID-19 precautions. Everyone was very friendly, polite, and efficient. They took great care of all our furniture, wrapping it, and carefully loading and unloading it. I will be booking them again for the move into our new house, just not at the last minute next time. And I promise to have water bottles or cups for the water cooler this time!
