Post Op from Entropion Eye lid surgery
    Renee D.

AM/PM's lead vet, Dr. Scott Lee performed surgery to correct Entropion eyelids on a rescue pitbull we fostered to adopt. Annenberg PetSpace arranged the surgery, there was some confusion as we were fostering, to get authorization to pick up the dog Post Op. After several calls we were able to pick up the dog. The tech was very helpful and kind, Yandy, gave us instructions on the meds and how to administer them, told us to come back in 2 weeks. Then when we were told to bring the dog back in two weeks for stitches to be removed, we again weren't authorized to set the appointment. Annenberg needed to do it, and Dr Lee was unavailable. We were told any of the veterinarians on staff could remove the stitches. However, in trying to get approval, Annenberg to the stitches out at their PetSpace facility. We would still like to come back to AM/PM for a follow up visit. Again, we were told Annenberg would have to verify we adopted the dog, even though we told the receptionist we have all the documentation to prove we are the new owners of the dog. One eye had a significant drop we would like Dr Lee to see if it a concern. Will keep you posted.

Drive here from Culver City, and it's well worth it. They don't take appointments but that also works out well when you have a pet that you want to be seen same day. It wasn't too bad. I ended up waiting about 90 minutes as a walk-in and you register on a kiosk and you can wait in your vehicle if you don't want to sit in the waiting room. Dr Jinny Lee was really easy to work with, gave detailed diagnostics for the cat I brought in, it's one that had probably some undisclosed injuries and she really took her time and answered questions, didn't feel rushed. Administrator Guadalupe was equally warm and accommodating and I really felt like I was being treated as a patient for myself, not just for my kitty. Very clean facilities, and though we all know veterinary care is expensive, I do feel they were trying to watch my budget and giving me options without making me feel guilty which ones I chose or did not choose. A strong recommendation for a vet.

Was there for my dog Mamba yesterday, and overall experience was exceptional ...Dr. Kims attention to detail and simplle xplanations were great.. Vita, Ilene & Guadalupe are part of a great staff.. They constantly kept us informed throughout the visit and answered every question efficiently.. I know my pet is always in good hands here.. Thanks again !

I'm so glad I found a vet that is open on Sundays. My cat had to be seen for a bladder blockage and had to spend a few nights there to recover. Dr. Lee is amazing. She called and kept me updated each day to let me know how he was doing and even called the next day after he came home to see how he was doing. She definitely saved my little guy and I'm so happy to have Bo back home healthy and happy

They are great ! The only thing is the wait we did wait about 4 hours for vaccines but the price is great for the care they provide

He has great compassion & expertise in his field. I really like him. However, getting an appointment is pretty much impossible the same month. You can go in a as walk in, but I must warn you, you will spend hours waiting. Even when you have an appointment, you must first text the number on the window to let the office staff know your in the parking lot. Then in turn, even if you have a time scheduled appointment, you must wait in your car to be asked in. Sometimes more than a half hour later. I wish they had a better system, it's very uncomfortable for an animal having to wait so long to be seen, not to mention the inconvenience to the human. I have tried the drop off system in the past too. I dropped my dog off at 9:00am and by 3:00pm she had not even been examined! They have plenty of staff members on site, so I'm confused as to why the delay when the dog has been there all day! Because of the overbooking or walk ins may take priority (even if not an emergency) has led me to seek other alternatives. The additional cost out weigh my anxiety & frustrations when my dog needs help. I leave this review to help others make up their own minds. I'm sorry to say good bye, but care is needed to address these problems.

After nearly 18 years of taking my dogs to another veterinary hospital (Washington Blvd. Animal…read moreHospital in Whittier), I finally reached my limit with the declining level of service and decided to seek a second opinion for my dog, who had been sick for over a month with no answers. I am so glad I found Lakewood Pet Vet. From beginning to end, the experience was completely different. They were able to get two of my dogs in for appointments the very next day, and the level of care, attention, and compassion we received was outstanding. Amanda at the front desk was sweet, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful. Sylvia, who handled their intake and vitals, was equally kind and caring and took the time to be very detailed. Dr. Dang was wonderful--thorough, knowledgeable, gentle, and tender with my dogs. What really blew me away was that Dr. Dang's initial diagnosis was right on target even before all of the lab results came back. She immediately began treating my dog for a deep ear infection, a UTI, and both yeast and bacterial infections on her paws. After FOUR visits to our longtime vet in ONE MONTH and repeatedly being told they couldn't find anything wrong, finding out that my dog actually had several issues requiring treatment was astonishing and incredibly upsetting. The follow-up care has been just as impressive. I received a call that same evening to check on how my dogs were doing. Dr. Kai, who was on duty, also called to personally go over the test results and check on them. Then, to my surprise, Amanda called again later that afternoon to follow up. When I told her one of my dogs was still showing signs of distress, she immediately relayed that information to the veterinarian on call, who later contacted me with additional recommendations. This is what veterinary care should feel like. Lakewood Pet Vet has truly exceeded my expectations. My dogs are still ill, and it's only been two days since treatment began, so we're not out of the woods yet. But after spending more than a month searching for answers, simply knowing that their problems have finally been identified and are actually being treated has given me tremendous peace of mind. For the first time in weeks, I feel hopeful that we're moving in the right direction. Crossing my fingers that my babies continue to improve! Thank you to Amanda, Sylvia, Dr. Dang, Dr. Kai, and everyone at Lakewood Pet Vet for making us feel like my dogs' health genuinely matters.

When checked in, we were informed the wait was between 2-3 hours. We understand that as an emergency hospital the critical patients get seen first. Completely understand. We patiently waited while our pup was immobile and in pain to hopefully get seen sooner than later. At the 2 hour mark, we checked in with the receptionist (smaller girl with huge glasses) regarding eta and were told that there were 12 other patients ahead of us and if I wanted a print out of other hospitals. The lack of empathy and care from this response really shocked me as it was basically a "wait or go somewhere else". Throughout this time, I was calling other places who had similar wait times but figured it would be best to stay and wait here since we had already been there for 3 hours rather than start over. We were watching as a people came in after us, attended first and left. It was about 2am (4 1/2 hours LATER) and we still HAD NOT been not seen or even checked on. Not even a quick vital check to assess if my pet was a critical patient. I'm not sure how they "triage" without even looking at a pet. At this point, we left and took our pet to another vet. This was the first and last time I ever use this "emergency hospital". Please research other hospitals and AVOID this one if you can. I wish I would've taken my chances at a different clinic rather than wasting our time here. It was truly one of the worst experiences of my life.
