This review is long overdue since we've been here many times, but this one is mainly for our visit on Friday, 04/24/26. First, I really like the QR code check in near the reception desk. It's super easy to use, and once you fill it out, it gives you an estimated wait time and even shows your place in line. We usually wait in the car, and they call us when it's time to head over, then again once the room is ready. I love that system it's convenient and keeps everything running smoothly. The front desk staff has always been kind and welcoming. I've honestly never had a bad experience with anyone there. Yesterday, the girl to my right with glasses was especially awesome (I didn't catch her name), and the girls who helped me later that night when I picked up Molly were great too. Thank you to Dr. Choi you did an amazing job explaining everything and we appreciate you for doing mollys surgery. you were great with us and I'm really glad we met you. Also a big thank you to Tanya, the vet tech who went over Molly's medications with me when I picked her up. You were incredibly helpful. I'm truly grateful for everyone who helped take care of Molly. read more

I have been bringing my cats to this vet for about a year now and I totally recommend going elsewhere for your pet care other than the low-cost spay and neuter and maybe vaccines. One issue with this clinic is the wait time. Since they don't take appointments, I understand that some waiting is expected, but the wait is consistently ridiculous. When you join the waitlist it's usually about a 4+ hour wait depending on what time of day you come in, on top of that, waiting in the exam room for the doctor to come in and when they take your pet to the back. Almost every part of the visit seems to take forever, I recently came in for my cat at 12pm and spent about 3 hours there for some diarrhea. My biggest concern I have is how much they try to upsell additional tests and services. It feels like they purposefully recommend expensive things that don't seem necessary for the issue you originally came in for. For example, I brought my cat in for a hotspot on his paw and was told they wanted to do an X-ray, which I did not feel was necessary for what was going on. I used to volunteer at a vet clinic and go to school to become a veterinarian, so animal care and medicine is not new to me. However, someone without that experience might feel pressured to agree to all of these unnecessary tests because they want to do everything they can for their pet. Also money is not an issue since my cats have insurance, another expample is that they tried quoting me for an xray&ultrasound for my cat that has diarrhea (no other symptoms), only to find out from the fecal test that he has an infection. And then after I already paid they tried calling me to run more unnecessary tests even though they saw in his blood test results that his levels were perfectly fine. They also took forever to approve my cats medicine on Chewy for said diarrhea when he was feeling so sick, probably because they weren't getting the money for it so they didn't want to approve it The staff is pretty nice though, maybe one or two can catch some attitude here and there, but the new Doctor Hyeonji Seo seems very knowledgeable about animal medicine and doesn't try to upsell additional tests to scam clients so hopefully she sticks around for a while to help these other pets. read more

Worst Vet Experience I had one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a veterinary clinic. I originally brought my French bulldog in because the right side of his face looked different and he was tilting his head to the right. The first veterinarian examined his ears and said there was fluid in his right ear. They cleaned it and placed medication in the ear, and I was charged for the visit and treatment. Two days later, I returned because my dog appeared to be in pain on that same side. Unfortunately, the experience with the second veterinarian was extremely disappointing. He seemed more concerned about the cleanliness of the room than examining my dog. My French bulldog growled when the veterinarian approached his face, which I understand can happen when a dog is scared or in pain. Instead of trying to find another way to examine him, the veterinarian quickly refused to examine him further and focused on the fact that I had never had his teeth professionally cleaned. I was told that he would need to be sedated just to examine his mouth and that he would probably need teeth extracted. Before even knowing whether extractions were actually necessary, someone was sent in to give me an estimate of approximately $1,800. I declined and still had to pay for another examination even though very little was actually done to help my dog. I immediately sought a second opinion from a veterinarian who specializes in dental care. The difference was night and day. They handled my dog calmly, evaluated his mouth away from me where he was much more comfortable, and showed me pictures of what they found. The veterinarian told me he had some swelling on the right side of his gums. I agreed to have his dental cleaning done there, at a lower cost, and I felt like they genuinely cared about helping my dog. Unfortunately, about 10 days after the dental cleaning, my dog was still not acting normally. Then we witnessed something terrifying: he had an episode lasting about a minute where his head was moving from side to side and his right eye was rapidly moving back and forth. He had never experienced anything like this before. I took him back to the veterinarian who had performed his dental cleaning, and they examined him again. They found that the right ear that had previously been treated had a very significant infection. At that point, I was extremely upset because this was the same ear that had originally been treated at the first clinic. Watching my dog suffer, not knowing what was wrong with him, and then witnessing such a frightening episode has been incredibly difficult for our entire family. I truly wish the first clinic had taken his symptoms more seriously and investigated the underlying problem instead of focusing so quickly on his teeth. I understand that dogs can be difficult to examine, especially when they are frightened or in pain, but I expected compassion, patience, and a genuine effort to figure out what was wrong. This clinic is very close and convenient for me, but I will not be returning. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this veterinary clinic to other pet owners. read more

IF YOUR PET HAS A SERIOUS ISSUE TAKE THEM ELSEWHERE!! We've taken our dog here about 4-5 times due to intense itching to the point of bleeding. They gave him tons of antibiotics. Guess what? Without ever testing what was causing the itching. They'd look at him and say oh I think it's food allergies, or oh I think he has a yeast or fungal infection. Guess what? It was never that. We took him to Ashton Vet where they automatically ran a ton of different tests and discovered it was mange. It needed parasitic medicine which AM PM NEVER caught Or prescribed. We would've kept going there and kept continuing to waste hundreds of dollars. So ya, I'd recommend a better vet for your pets. read more

AM/PM's lead vet, Dr. Scott Lee performed surgery to correct Entropion eyelids on a rescue pitbull we fostered to adopt. Annenberg PetSpace arranged the surgery, there was some confusion as we were fostering, to get authorization to pick up the dog Post Op. After several calls we were able to pick up the dog. The tech was very helpful and kind, Yandy, gave us instructions on the meds and how to administer them, told us to come back in 2 weeks. Then when we were told to bring the dog back in two weeks for stitches to be removed, we again weren't authorized to set the appointment. Annenberg needed to do it, and Dr Lee was unavailable. We were told any of the veterinarians on staff could remove the stitches. However, in trying to get approval, Annenberg to the stitches out at their PetSpace facility. We would still like to come back to AM/PM for a follow up visit. Again, we were told Annenberg would have to verify we adopted the dog, even though we told the receptionist we have all the documentation to prove we are the new owners of the dog. One eye had a significant drop we would like Dr Lee to see if it a concern. Will keep you posted. read more

The only reason I bring my pet here is for the convenience. They don't require appointments, they're open late, and they accept walk-ins until around 6 p.m., depending on how busy they are. The wait times can get extremely long, but they have a QR code at the front desk that lets you join a virtual waitlist. You can leave while you wait, and they'll call you when you're about third in line. They also give you a 30-40 minute grace period to return. The visit itself is reasonably priced. $40 on weekdays, $50 on weekends, and I believe the first visit is free. That said, I've had two experiences here that still don't sit well with me. The first happened when my sweet dog was diagnosed with IVDD. She became paralyzed overnight, so you can only imagine how devastated I was. For those who may not know, many dogs with IVDD lose the ability to urinate on their own, so you have to manually express their bladder 3-4 times a day to prevent UTIs and other serious infections. While explaining this to me, the doctor said that even veterinary professionals have a difficult time expressing a dog's bladder and suggested I should consider her quality of life--which, in this case, meant euthanasia. Absolutely not. I was immediately turned off by that response. I took her to another veterinarian that my sister recommended, and that doctor took the time to teach me how to express my dog's bladder properly. It wasn't nearly as difficult as I had been led to believe. Fast forward almost three years, and my little girl is thriving. The second incident happened recently. I brought my dog in because I suspected she had a UTI. They performed a urinalysis and told me I would receive the results within 48-72 hours. Before the results even came back, they prescribed two weeks' worth of antibiotics. I thought that was odd, but they explained they wanted to start treatment in case it was a UTI so it wouldn't get worse. Given my dog's history with IVDD, I asked the doctor what the chances were that her symptoms could be related to urinary muscle or nerve damage instead of a UTI. Instead of discussing the possibilities, he immediately jumped to worst-case scenarios, which only made me more anxious. I then asked if, assuming it wasn't urinary muscle damage now, this was something that was inevitable because of her IVDD. Without hesitation, he said yes, and once again suggested I should consider her quality of life. Seriously? Not a conversation about diapers, medications, rehabilitation, or any other management options--just straight to euthanasia. Again? Absolutely not. I sought a second opinion, and that veterinarian explained that while urinary issues can happen in dogs with IVDD, it depends on where the nerve damage occurred. Considering my dog has been doing so well for nearly three years, they told me there was no reason to assume the worst or lose sleep over it at this point. I can't say whether AM PM Ideal Pet Care truly cares about animals or if they're simply focused on moving patients through the door. I do appreciate the convenience and affordable pricing, but after being advised to consider euthanasia twice without meaningful discussions about other treatment or management options, I've lost confidence in their judgment. For that reason, I don't think I'll be trusting them with my dog's long-term care again. read more

Drive here from Culver City, and it's well worth it. They don't take appointments but that also works out well when you have a pet that you want to be seen same day. It wasn't too bad. I ended up waiting about 90 minutes as a walk-in and you register on a kiosk and you can wait in your vehicle if you don't want to sit in the waiting room. Dr Jinny Lee was really easy to work with, gave detailed diagnostics for the cat I brought in, it's one that had probably some undisclosed injuries and she really took her time and answered questions, didn't feel rushed. Administrator Guadalupe was equally warm and accommodating and I really felt like I was being treated as a patient for myself, not just for my kitty. Very clean facilities, and though we all know veterinary care is expensive, I do feel they were trying to watch my budget and giving me options without making me feel guilty which ones I chose or did not choose. A strong recommendation for a vet. read more

Their check in system and staff are problematic. I had to take my pet for a wellness check and the checked in at 11am and they told me it would be a 5hr wait.. the wait isn't what bothered me. The system gives "real time alerts, and while waiting you're able to see where you are at on the system. After roughly after 3 1/2hrs it finally said you're next and I made my way inside and waited. 15mins later nothing and the staff called another dog and called the owner to ask how long they would be. I asked one of the office staff about a status as I allegedly was next and I watched them barely print out the paperwork to place us in the waiting list. We get called up and Then they "blamed" it on internet issues and saying that there must have been a glitch in the waitlist because our name had passed, I asked them, then why didn't you give us a call we were waiting outside and she did not provide a response... We finally entered the room and they still had the wrong paperwork. They came back in and then told me "oh it's because we had another client with your name. That's why." I then asked how much long now since we're in the room and she said I don't know. The vet has 2 others before you. No "I'm sorry for the delay" or even admitting they had messed up in the first place! The Vets are nice here and they really care for the dogs and are so quick. I don't know if this is just a one off issue or what but some of office staff here do not have the best friendly attitude like the vets here. read more

Neutered my healthy 1 year old cat at AMPM and ever since then my cat has fallen ill with diarrhea.Right after surgery he started making a growling cry when he uses his litter box. They gave our dog some fluids, a shot for nausea and diarrhea and some probiotics, we get the rest of the test results tomorrow...walked out of there for $370. Came here on an emergency basis. I'm glad we came. Dr. Lee was so awesome. Let us know of the possibilities and did his best. His best worked for us. He cured our tiny Yorkie. She overate and was dehydrated. And she's one that drinks so much water Hahahahah. It was scary. But the staff were helpful. It approximately cost us about $775 for ultrasound, check up, labs, medicine and IV. They kept my baby warm and the clinic was soooo clean. I loved the clean smell. I had to bring my kitten in for emergency surgery, and the experience overall was very positive. The doctor was great as she updated us throughout the process, thoroughly explained the procedure, the risks, and broke down the costs for everything. She was attentive, professional, and genuinely caring. The surgery itself was quick. The only thing I found surprising was that when we returned two weeks later for a post-op check-up and suture removal, we were charged for it. I thought follow-up visits like this were usually included in the quote along with the surgery as I was charged a little under 7k, so that felt a bit odd to me. The "check up" consisted of a different Dr lightly pressing her stomach and removing the stitches. Not including the waiting time, this appointment took less than 3-5 minutes. So FYI, If your pet gets surgery here, expect to be charged for a follow up, something that is necessary to make sure your pet is healing well from the surgery THEY performed mind you. read more

Took my cat in for an upset stomach and lethargy. They immediately recommended a $70 test for PARVO, a fatal disease for cats. They came back and said the results were positive, not just a little PARVO, but TONS. Therefore my options were to keep my cat in intense overnight stays at the vet, not cheap OR I would have to put my cat down since the PARVO would kill him without the overnight stays. I WAS TORN APART. Someone said I could get a second opinion elsewhere, so I did I went to VCA West Coast Animal Hospital in Fountain Valley. They had a different test MEANT FOR CATS. The test at AM/PM was MEANT FOR DOGS. Therefore they said I might have got a false positive at AM/PM. After opening a line of credit to get my cat this test, the results were a HARD NEGATIVE FOR PARVO. My cat was just dehydrated and needed a quick IV fluid treatment. THANK YOU VCA WEST COAST ANIMAL HOSPITAL. Without that 2nd opinion, I would've had to put my cat down since $1000 a night stay is a bit much. FOR ANY SERIOUS OR DIRE SITUATIONS REGARDING YOUR PET, PLEASE TAKE THEM ELSEWHERE. This place might convince you to spend $$$$$ or put your pet down due to inaccurate tests. read more

We were referred here by another vet because our case was too complicated for her. Or feral cat was attacked and had a full lower face avulsion. The doctor was able to do a face reconstruction and avoid having to remove bone. Our boy is doing great.
