After we met IK, heard their ideas and shared some of our dream items for our family home, we decided to re-design our ENTIRE apartment using IK as our design team for architectural services and selections across 2300 interior square feet. We could not have done it without Lauren, Olga, Adriana and the entire IK team of designers and project managers. IK is on top of it all. We had weekly design and logistics meetings that included our budget tracking and our selection tracking. They were able to show us what our apartment was going to look like through amazing renderings that were so life-like, it was the first time I was able to truly see what I was putting together. They worked with us on finishing selections, coordination with the contracting team over 6 months with multiple weekly visits, the architect and expeditors, the ancillary services and resources for glass, marble, cabinetry and more. IK was able to deliver us the home of our dreams in NYC. Although it was a complicated and nearly year long project, we felt ready to take it all on because of IK and their team and their contacts. They were there for us every step of the way, kept us on budget and were able to meet with varying providers when we weren't, acting like our own right hand. We've had a very good experience dealing with our designer, Petr, and the general contractor he recommended (Marian). They have been extremely responsive, patient, and helpful during the months it took us to make all the decisions and finally place our order. We worked closely with Petr to get a design that would help us make the best use of our tiny NYC kitchen, while still giving us the desired aesthetic. We found him to be very easy to work with and collaborative. Petr provided us with a design and was then open to our requests and suggestions. He struck the right balance between responding to our wants/needs/inputs and stopping us from making any mistakes. (As a consultant myself, I know that this can be very tricky.) As my husband and I travel quite a bit for business, a lot of our interaction with Petr was by email (in addition to many in-person meetings). He always answered promptly and thoroughly (i.e., point-by-point response to questions/requests). This was very important to us. One interesting event that speaks to the level of precision Leicht demands of its products: Part of our design is a cabinet that will house our stacked washer/dryer. While we're ordering some new appliances, we're keeping the w/d. At first Leicht (the factory in Germany) did not feel comfortable saying that our existing w/d would fit the cabinet properly. Not because of the size, but because they did not know if our w/d (as opposed to German machines) would shake to much and thus damage the closely-fitting cabinet. Because we really wanted this cabinet, our response was to ask them to get comfortable -- whatever that might entail. We were impressed and pleased to find out that the factory purchased our exact w/d, ran tests on it, and was then able to confirm that everything would be fine. That's a lot of attention to detail. So: so far so good. Updates to follow.
