The owners response is aligned with the overall experience-- The owners wife did indeed reach out to me but AFTER I posted the initial review several weeks, might have been month' without response. She requested the removal of the review in exchange of a site visit which I declined as my contractor remedied most of the shortcomings and as a company you can't preclude customers to exercise their right to review. The tarnishing of ones reputation happens when not all aspects of the service are satisfying,- and there are other reviews of similar stance I noticed. This was a Great Experience from first meeting GKC's Petr Zahraj to the final day of clean up with the excellent contractor Marian Kandrac of Kandrac Construction (who was referred by Petr). Before starting the project, there was no kitchen in this one bedroom NYC pied-a-terre, just a half refrigerator inside a closet. GKC's Petr Z was very helpful. His design ideas maximized the space and he made the entire process as smooth as possible. Very happy with how things turned out. I had my Leicht Kitchen installed 5 years ago and it still looks brand new! I got the lacquered finish which is very easy to wipe and all hinges/doors are working very well and haven't needed an adjustment. Their after sales service has also been amazing - I contacted them recently to let them know that my plinth kept dropping on the floor and asked how I could fix it. Initially they were going to charge me of course given that my installation was so long ago but when they saw that my installation had not been done with the required bracket clips to hold the plinths in place, they quickly agreed to send someone to fix it without charging me. I really appreciate their responsiveness and professional ownership - I would definitely recommend based on quality and service. read more

After two years of living with the Leicht kitchen, I can say I will never use them again. Cabinet doors fall out of alignment, which require that I play with the hinges to get the doors flush. The dishwasher was never installed correctly so that door is never flush. The refrigerator was installed poorly so the door never sealed properly and in the summer, puddles formed. The tech took three hours to try and get the door flush. The good news: moisture is kept out. The bad news: you can see that the fridge door and freezer door are not aligned. The door under the sink never closed properly. Now I notice some of my cabinet drawers are beginning to shift. When I run my fingers over the edges, I can tell they're not aligned. A lot of things weren't installed properly to begin with: the stove, the dishwasher. When a tech came to fix it, he said I can only do so much. These were supposed to be laser aligned, German cabinets. read more

I am happy other people had a good experience but for us it has been a nightmare. We contracted after attending a presentation. All we wanted was a new kitchen with the exact same layout as our old kitchen. The first plan the designer presented reversed the kitchen layout; the second plan she put the sink directly beside the stove. When I told the designer her pipe location measurements were wrong and, anyway, the plan left us no prep space and would require major plumbing work the designer refused to admit a mistake was made (even though I showed her photos showing her the measurements were wrong!). Additionally, the designer kept giving us the wrong cabinet style. Against my gut feeling we continued working with them as we had too little time to shop around and we did really like the Leicht cabinet finishes- they were exactly what we were looking for. After finally receiving a workable plan, we approved it but had to correct the cabinet style yet again. We went on vacation in July 2019 and let our contractor oversee German Kitchen's contractor's installation. More mistakes! They made one open shelf too high over the refrigerator and left screws exposed (telling us this is just how it is supposed to be), did not give us the trash/recycling center we ordered, the contractor used pins for some shelves that were not meant for the shelves, did not give us handles on two cabinet doors (which according to Leicht in Germany should have been ordered with handles). After weeks of calls and emails (I won't get into all that drama) we finally got the pins and a trash/recycling center -although not the bigger one (that we paid for) in the original plan. (They said the one ordered would not fit the under sink cabinet- in my opinion, they are effectively telling me they do not know the product they are selling.) After weeks of back and forth and, finally involving the owner, at the end of February 2020, they corrected the cabinet over the refrigerator (and covered the screws!). They wanted us to pay for the correction and tried to insist the cabinet had to be that high even though we made the height we wanted very clear with the designer over several meetings and the designer subsequently admitted in an email that a mistake was made during installation. Also, we never were able to get specifics on how the cabinets were priced from the designer. This is our fourth renovation and we understand mistakes happen but, in my opinion, incompetence is refusing to admit or correct mistakes. We love the cabinets but, in our opinion, the customer service was awful. read more

We now have a glorious new kitchen from Leicht/German Kitchen Center, and are thrilled with the appearance and quality. We worked through the store on the Upper West Side. Petr Zahraj was our designer/ salesperson; Sam Simmonds was our project manager, and the Leicht installer was Jon (not sure of his last name). Our considerations in SELECTING GKC included the obvious quality of the materials; the reputation of German workmanship; the almost one-stop shopping and connection with the general contractor (more on this below); and the neighborhood location (easy to meet with them). We didn't fully know what we'd end up paying -- which was a lot more than our original (admittedly vague) idea, but worth it. We took our time with the DESIGN process, and the end result made it worth the effort. My husband worked very closely with Petr to make sure we were able to make use of every possible millimeter of space in our small galley kitchen. To his credit, Petr was very patient and did not take offense at our questions or general approach to the process. We ended up with a kitchen that feels more spacious and has more storage and workspace than we had before. The ORDERING process went well. GKC was able to tell us in advance when the container ship would get to NYC, give or take a week. As we got closer to the date, they were able to give us the exact date. Petr recommended Marian Kandrac (of Kandrac Construction) as a GENERAL CONTRACTOR that they worked with many times -- he described Marian as a reliable perfectionist. OK, someone we hardly knew recommended someone else we didn't know at all - but it ended up working out perfectly. Marian and his crew were phenomenal all the way through. In a period of 2 weeks, they prepared our kitchen as follows: totally gutted the room, removed 2 small walls, pushed back a wall to get more space, painted, tiled, moved existing plumbing, moved/added electrical, etc. Our building loved this crew, as they followed every building rule, every day. There was a bit of chaos around the DELIVERY of the cabinets to our apartment. We ended up having to wait 10 extra days because it seems that the installers were not available. One of the things GKC had told us was that they would work very closely with the general contractor -- which they did. But somehow not enough in this area, and it caused us to have to spend more time/money living elsewhere. I'd call this the only glitch of substance in this entire process. The entire kitchen was still completed in 7 weeks. INSTALLATION was amazing. Of course nothing is perfectly straight in any NYC apartment, and ours was no exception. Yet everything is perfectly aligned. Our installer, Jon, did all the installation by himself. We still can't figure out how he mounted cabinets on the wall without help, but that's what happened. He did a beautiful job. We also bought some APPLIANCES from GKC: a Gaggenau refrigerator and Miele dishwasher. They either installed or arranged for installation of these items. We kept our existing stacked washer and dryer, which are now in a cabinet of their own. At first GKC didn't want to guarantee that our existing w/d would be steady enough to not damage the cabinet. But they ended up buying exact copies of our w/d, testing them out in the cabinet, and then agreeing that it would work. (Wow!) We had a small PUNCH LIST at the end, but everything got taken care of in good spirits. Sam, the project manager, was very helpful in this regard. Bottom line: Glitches were minimal, it was all worth it, and we are completely thrilled with what we have. read more

I can't say enough good things about this company from service to management, to beauty, to quality. I love my Leicht kitchen so much and people always give me great compliments. I went with "Oak Smoke" since I feel white is too trendy and I adore how it came out. If I were to give any advice, maximize pullouts since they are very useful and a great use of space as well. I had some bumps in the road, as most projects do and the team at Leicht, in particular, Javier Merizalde, my fantastic salesperson, who bent over backward to make sure I was a happy customer. I liked it so much that I built out my basement wet bar with Nobilla which was also great quality and very great looking. We built a new home and Yoram Zioni designed our entire kitchen. We met him in Dallas show room, and Yoram was the main reason we chose German Kitchen Center because he was professional, full of ideas and solutions and so understanding of our needs and he always asked right questions to design our kitchen based on our lifestyle and cooking habits. He always answered emails as quick as possible, FaceTime when was needed( as he was based in New York city), and we enjoyed every minute of working with him. He is well experienced. Our kitchen is very clean, modern, and full of storage, with all LED drawers ( which are a must). The installation team Edi and Bryan were absolutely amazing and professional. They answered all of our questions, explained everything well, worked great with other contractors, they adjusted things as we made minor changes on job site, very patient, and most importantly they had the best attitude installing our kitchen pieces to pieces. Carmit Sporer was our designer at GKC in the UWS. She is very talented, hard working, and she really cares about the client. Her design ideas are excellent and our renovated kitchen looks stunning!
