They understand how scared and abandoned someone can feel beginning this part of the journey, and they work very hard to help a new person become part of a community of support. Our dad was here for nearly 3 years and in that time period there were at least 6 different Executive Directors. We had several meetings about Dad's service plan and his level of care and just when we thought we were making progress they would leave and we were back to square one. The only person who had been there longer than 1 year was the front desk person. So much turnover should be alarming to anyone considering putting a family member here! Other issues we had were his apartment not being cleaned on a regular basis due to "Housekeeping shortage". Sheets were not changed daily, shower assistance was not gives as requested. New meds not given because they did not receive a Drs order, and they never called a family member or the Dr to get this so he went without his new meds for 2 days until we discovered the issue! When the front desk person leaves at 7 pm there is no one to talk to at Bonaventure to check on our dad if he was not answering his land line. So many worrisome issues and not getting the services he had been paying for we decided to move him to another care facility closer to family. Please Do Not Be fooled! Would NOT recommend Bonaventure of Castle Rock. And the food stinks according to our dad. They can't even make scrambled eggs.

Do they have onsite drs from their insurance? Dental? Podiatry? Is there room to walk? How much does it cost? Is it a good value? How are the reviews? How is the memory care? Those are just some of the things you'll wonder about. So many concerns! First off, I was very impressed with the level of care and the amount of time that Cameron put in with my family in helping us with this decision. First was with my sister who spent some time and did a tour in person, and decided on one place, but after moving closer to finalizing it, there were some red flags and we decided to look at our choices again. Then my wife and I got involved and found several more possibilities, with Cameron's help, and Cameron set up zoom call tours for all of us, which we did, and unlike I was expecting, the zoom tours were actually very helpful and were excellent at familiarizing ourselves with the details of each place. We really did get great additional choices without being there. Cameron attended the entire zoom call for each of our zoom appointments, as well as spending a lot of time answering my long and detailed emails with questions before that.
