After a particularly salty experience with my usual Indian takeout place, I couldn't bring myself to look at their menu without craving a gallon of water. My thirst for Indian food, however, apparently cannot be quenched, thus my mission for a new go-to spot materialized. Shamefully, I order the same thing every time and simply wanted a place that served these things, along with Coca Cola. Don't judge. Having ordered from Aman a couple of times, and intending to continue ordering from them, there a few things to be noted: -The delivery is quick. I usually order through Foodler and it always comes in 45 minutes or less. And everything arrives piping hot! -The vegetable samosas are fantastic. Crispy, not oily, with a nice little kick to the flavor. Not spicy...just pleasantly far from bland. -The chicken saag is excellent. It's on the spicy side, the chicken is not chewy, the portion is enough for 2-3 meals and it's $11. Yes, please. And now for the only, but admittedly very big, draw back: -Their naan is consistently lacking. It's thin, it's flavorless and it's stale. No fluffiness to be found. If you order garlic naan, don't expect any garlic. Despite the not-awesome naan, Aman is now officially in my takeout rotation, replacing my usual spot for the time being, with a less-salty, cheaper and often quicker option for Indian.

The food itself was ok, granted I only got the vegetable samosas because I had no idea they had such an expansive menu! The samosas were pretty big and the outside was a little more doughy than what I'm used to. The guy fried up a new batch as I ordered so they were crispy on the outside and warm inside. The chutneys he gave me weren't the usual green and brown/red one but instead an onion relish and a sweeter red chutney. The guy suggested that I mix the two, and that was good but nothing crazy. The man working there was very nice! I want to come back again for everything else on the menu! Warning: the outside of this place says "union square pizza" but don't be deterred, they have pizza AND Indian food

Found this SNAIL SHELL in my lamb saag!!!!!!!
    Casey C.

I used to love this place, but I will never go back again after today. I ordered the lamb saag and found a SNAIL shell in it. I called to let them know and ask for a refund and they denied that it was their fault. I had ordered the meal for lunch, and found the shell while eating the leftovers for dinner. They said that in the 8 hours since I ordered, that shell could have come from anywhere. The saag was in the fridge in the closed container it came in for the whole day, so this is not really possible. Disgusting. Disrespectful.

Some of the best South Asian takeout I've had in the area and delivery to Arlington was much quicker than expected. Love the tofu options.

We kind of wished the saag paneer was a bit less watery and more flavorful, but it was still good. The lunch special is such a great deal. The staff were very nice and attentive! It took a bit longer for the matar paneer to come out, not that we particularly noticed because we were still eating all of our other food. They did give us two mango lassis on the house, which was so kind! I will be back!!!

It came with rice naan & papadum. All of them were fresh and warm- no complaints. Paneer tikka masala katti roll- literally just turned the same paneer kadhai curry into roll and called it kathi roll. Literally exact same taste. paneer was dry and hard af. Like i'd spend my money in indian grocery store & get authentic roll for half price. Chicken jhol momo- this was a saving grace. I absolutely loved that they put jhol in a different container. Momos were warm & flavorful. Jhol was cold but really tasty. Not too spicy not too bland. Really good balance. Gotta say that uber eats packaging was really good. They made sure everything came fresh, warm and nothing moved while in transit. Appreciate it

That being said, the place was packed after 7 so consider what time you're coming when trying to walk in without a reservation. The entrance is up the stairs and as soon as you walk through the door, you're greeted with a great view of Winthrop Park and the surrounding area. We were promptly seated and the lively wait staff came and took our drink order shortly thereafter. We started with the complimentary papadum and chutneys and our appetizer order of hara bhara kebab which was a nice vegetarian fritter. For our entrees, we got the baingan bhartan, chicken tikka masala (dairy free one), yellow daal tadka, tandoori roti, onion kulcha, and paneera bharura. The breads were all fantastic and I enjoyed the chicken tikka masala (dairy free made with coconut milk) just to see how it was different from a standard chicken tikka masala. For dessert, we got the gajar halwa (which was awesome!) and kulfi. Overall, I'm glad to have finally tried this place and may revisit it again in the future. Worth considering if you're in the area.

I enjoy the blend of spices and flavors that you could taste within the food. In terms of food quality, this is easily becoming my favorite Indian restaurant in Boston. I appreciate the restaurant location and internal setup. The restaurant is nestled near Harvard Square on the second floor with a nice view to the local neighborhood around Cambridge. There were many tables by the window so customers could enjoy the ambience. Overall, would recommend. If I find myself returning to Boston, I will definitely make time to stop by again.
