    Chicken Tikka Masala
    Sabrina H.

This was my absolute favorite Indian restaurant when I was in college so I was so excited to be back in Boston and be able to come try it again!!! We got the chicken tikka masala and garlic naan and it was just as amazing as I remember it. I used to also get the mango lassi, which I would recommend to anyone coming here for the first time, but I did not get to try it this time around. The service was really quick and the interior was so nicely decorated.

They are in a block on Brighton Street with a selection of restaurants. The parking is limited to the street. A large percentage of their business is take-out. Punjabi Palace has a seating area large enough to handle their business. I had trouble understanding the man behind the bar. He gave me a menu after I was seated. The meal started of with some pakoras and chutney; onion and tomato, mint and Tamara. It was followed by a bowl of curry served with basmati rice. I requested the curry medium spicy which was just right. The meal was filling. I would return.

Love love love food from Punjab Palace! Have been ordering from here for many many years and always a good experience! Had a few friends over for dinner and ordered several dishes - dal makhani, goat curry, chhole, aloo gobhi, bhindi, baingan bhartha, for the main dishes. Dahi papri (hubs' fave) and mixed veg platter (samosas, pakoras), and whole wheat roti and veg biryani. Everyone enjoyed all the food which came piping hot! The delivery came with jalebis- a very popular sweet probably for Diwali! Nice touch! Great food always!!

We visited Punjab Palace on a Friday evening and it was completely buzzing with energy (and orders) from start to finish. Whether you want to dine in or takeout, you really can't go wrong. The service here was attentive and pretty quick, considering how many tables and food items they're dealing with. We started things off with the onion bhaji which were tasty and paired nicely with the provided dipping sauces. For the table we ordered chicken tikka saag, lamb coconut korma, and paneer naan. Both curries were really good and had great flavor. I wish they were slightly spicier (we ordered one mild and one medium), but it was still enjoyable. The naan wasn't very cheesy, but it was a good portion. I'd definitely love to come back here to try some of their other dishes!

Wow, I was stunned by the newspaper/magazines/media posted in front of the restaurant about all the Zagat surveys and media attention this place had received in the past. They really should try to advertise those attention more to attract more customers. But regardless, the restaurant already seems to be doing great without such additional advertisements. There are people waiting in line while we dined there. Also, there was literally a row full of pickups/deliveries waiting--I counted at least 12 orders waiting to be picked up at one point. The curries were good. Mango lasse was good as well. We will definitely be back.

0/10 DISGUSTING. Food and bag reeked like cigarettes. Papad chat was raw onions and crackers. No toppings or anything. That's not chat. No potatoes, no spices, nothing. Bread was put in plastic container and disgustingly soggy by the time it arrived. NO utensils were provided, even after requesting. Go somewhere else- anywhere else for Indian food.

I just walked in to this place after some years. I asked Punjab Place, what is Good take out for Tofu with mixed vegetables dish ? and suggestion was Tofu Jalfrezi. I asked medium spicy level and added Lentil Soup. All were excellent, Punjab Place made my night beautifully. All staff workers were great, respectful and very professional.

My friend and I don't typically love Indian food and my spice tolerance isn't very high, but the tiki masala was perfect as mild. There was soooo much food and it was so filling and satisfying. I also really liked the naan, but it's interesting because it's real garlic and not as greasy as it usually is (which I prefer actually). Service was friendly, and it's unusual, but most people ordered takeout instead of eating there.

Saag Paneer, Onion Chutney (8 oz), Tarka Dal

The food was good, but I was especially pleased with their ability to accommodate dietary preferences. I wasn't sure if the entrée I ordered was vegan or not, and added "special instructions" on DoorDash asking them to either make it vegan or substitute for a different dish. The order came with a note explaining that they substituted coconut milk for the cream, which was great. While I would have been fine with the other option, it's one I've had plenty and wasn't too excited about--as opposed to the tofu masala, which is not a common dish. That type of substitution is something I wish more places did, but usually they already have the sauces made and aren't able to easily adapt. There's also a lot of dishes with tofu instead of paneer, which expands the usual menu of items I am able to order--even more so if cream can be subbed out. The food came quickly, well packaged, and was tasty. I would definitely order from here again.

    Chicken vindaloo, Vegetable Jalfrezi
    Emily L.

I've been going here for years and have always had a good experience for both dine in and takeout! Some of my favorites: Vegetable samosas (huge!) Chicken vindaloo (my favorite sauce) Malai kofta (the bf's favorite) Pashwari naan (best one I've had!) Tiki masala (chicken or veggie) Poori (delicious if dining in) Always a great time, definitely give this place a try if you haven't already.

This is a solid Indian spot. I've never had to wait to be seated and the service is always quick! During one of my visits, my friend and I ordered the Vegetable Pakoras, Vegetable Samosas, Garlic Naan, Saag Paneer, and Paneer Vindaloo. We definitely ordered with our eyes and we were so full! Everything was super flavorful and delicious.

The space is clean, stylish, and thoughtfully decorated, blending a chic Indian vibe with subtle Italian-inspired décor. It's a lovely setting, especially for date night or a more upscale dinner. That said, the food itself was... fine, but not standout. We spent about $60 on one appetizer, one shared entrée, and two pieces of naan, which feels a bit steep for what we got. I also left hungry. Highlights: The dahi puri was the star of the meal -- super refreshing, flavorful, and a perfect bite between richer dishes. The naan was well-seasoned, crisp on the outside, fluffy inside, and genuinely delicious. The butter chicken had a nice kick of spice but was otherwise surprisingly bland and lacked depth of flavor. If you've had a lot of Indian food (especially in the Cambridge area), this may fall a bit short. There are several nearby spots that offer more memorable flavors. If you're staying in or near Boston proper, Shanti in Dorchester and Sher-a-Punjab in Quincy are both stronger options. That said, Saanjh is very convenient for its location, which gives it an edge. Service: Service was quick, efficient, and genuinely warm. We had the pleasure of speaking with Saj (?) who was an absolute highlight of the experience. He was friendly, engaging, and went above and beyond -- even staying about 15 minutes past his break just to chat with us. He clearly cares about the guest experience and deserves serious recognition (and probably a raise!). Overall: Come here for the ambiance, service, and convenience. If exceptional Indian food is your top priority, there are better options nearby. Still, a pleasant experience overall, especially thanks to the great service.

Tonight, I added Momo Masala to that list. I was also fortunate to have friends who live nearby, and when I mentioned to them I was going (hopefully to invite them), they said it was one of their regular places for take-out. But they also informed me that they did not have a liquor license. But that recently changed!! They now offer beer, wine, cocktails, and whiskey pours - none of these are huge amounts, but there are certainly enough options for any of these. Our group of 4 did sample several cocktails. They aren't super fancy (though some drinks do have garnishes or salty/spiced rims), but everything is well crafted. Momos first, if course. They offer several varieties, but if you prefer yours steamed, read the menu carefully, as not all varieties are available steamed. We got vegetable and chicken momos, the chicken ones in a broth. Their medium level of spiciness provided a nice but not overwhelming kick. Our entrees continued the high quality. Their chicken tikka masala has a very dark and rich sauce, and the chicken chunks were tender. The lamb was equally good. The naan here (we got garlic) is very crisp, just the way I like it. This is a popular take-out spot, but there are enough tables to accommodate people who dine in conveniently, with a relaxing ambiance. This is another great add to the wide variety of dining options in Jamaica Plain.
