He gave me exactly what I wanted while keeping the length and shape I like. He was friendly, professional, and made the whole experience easy. Everyone else at West & Kennedy was also really welcoming. Definitely recommend Caleb, especially if you have longer hair and want someone you can trust with a scissor cut. I pulled up next to the man and asked him if they were taking new customers, he was incredibly friendly and told me they're always taking new clients as long as I call ahead. A few weeks later, I was driving by again, and I decided to actually come inside. A man named Ralph greeted me, I had asked him a few questions all of which he was more than happy to answer. He even offered to cut my hair and trim my beard right then and there, without an appointment, however, I had my dog in the car (car was on with A/C cranked up!) Ralph understood and took no offense and offered me his card. Finally, I made an appointment with Ralph for yesterday. I arrived about ten minutes early, and was greeted by not just Ralph, but the other two stylists as well, even though they had their own clients. Reggie also came out shortly after to say hi while waiting on his next client. Ralph was finishing up a previous client, so I sat in a comfortable chair, and waited while enjoying their decor. Another man came in shortly after me, whom Ralph recognized. Ralph asked if he had an appointment, which they both checked their phones for. Ralph did not see an appointment made by the newcomer, however, he was understanding and said he was in no hurry, and waited. A few minutes later, I was up in the chair, and Ralph and I chatted like old friends. Ralph promptly asked how I would like my cut, and was off to work. During a lull in the conversation, the man waiting brought up his Filipino-American restaurant over on West Colonial, Taglish. I am big into food, so this new conversation was more than welcome. A little about my experience with barbers: I have been to both Art of Shaving barbers here in Orlando, Millenia and Disney Springs, I have also been to a place in Winter Park, Atomic Barbershop. These places are phenomenal, however, in HALF the time it takes at one of those barbers, within 30-40 minutes, I had the best haircut and beard trim I have ever had. Granted. My haircut is simple, a number 2. But the beard takes a little more precision and the way Ralph transformed my beard from ragged and unruly to uniform and neat, plus how quickly he was able to do so, WITH ZERO NICKS, is incredible. I am writing this interview the next day so I could report on any skin irritability or break outs. I am happy to say, also zero. My skin feels great, the beard still looks amazing, and West and Kennedy has found themselves a client for life. Thank you again Ralph!

I waited at the desk to check in, and when no one greeted me after a few minutes (they did not even welcome me to the shop from where they were standing cutting hair a few feet away), I took a seat. Several of the stylists walked back toward the waiting area as clients walked in and out, and still no one approached me or asked why I was there. One lady even started eating her lunch and playing on her phone in the back without coming to communicate with me. Even the Hair Cuttery offers the basic courtesy of greeting you and giving a general wait time. Then when I spoke with the owner the next day, she did not care to rectify the situation and instead defended her stylists' behavior, all the while making rude comments on the thread while I was being patient. The sign outside the business clearly says walk ins welcome. She even told me the name of the employee who is supposed to take walk ins, and this man just accepted a woman who had walked in a few minutes before I decided to leave, without even asking if I was a walk in or if I had been helped. Did the lady have an appointment? I have no idea, but it would have been nice to be spoken to so I could get a sense of whether or not I'd be able to get a haircut that day, or if I should schedule for another day. I usually don't go out of my way to write bad reviews, but this was a terrible experience that I have never had before at any other salon.

Excuse me? Your books are open, and now I'm paying extra for that? Comedy. I told her to cancel since I had an 8 PM engagement and didn't live locally. She agreed but played the clock, pretending to be "busy," knowing StyleSeat would charge me the full $180 if she didn't cancel in time. I reminded her again, and she texted back, "You do it plz and thank you!" Girl, what? You must need that money bad. Anyone who uses StyleSeat knows canceling yourself means getting charged a percentage or full price. Completely unprofessional. I texted her about it, let her know I'd dispute the charge with my bank, and she still didn't fix anything. Later that night and the next day, I saw 5-6 attempts to charge $180 to my card. Joke's on her--I changed it. Never again. And take my photo off your website! You don't have permission to use my likeness to promote your services. I'll be sending a cease-and-desist letter through my lawyer.
