Cute coffee shop in Defiance with lots of options for specialty drinks, coffees, espressos, teas,…read moreand bubble teas. I opted for a bubble green tea with coconut flavor and passion fruit bubbles...perfect tropical tea to make me forget I'm in cold dreary Ohio in the middle of Winter. The bubble tea was subtly flavored and not overly sweet so I was very happy with my selection. My hubs got a cappuccino which was also very good. The decor definitely gave you cabin chic vibes and the comfy seating made you feel right at home, especially right next to the fireplace. They even had a bunch of games you can enjoy as you enjoy your drink. The staff were friendly so I'll be back the next time I'm in the area!

Well, not inexplicable, the issue is that the drive-thru was designed like they forgot to have one at all. There is no way to order ahead of time or anything, you have to wait until you are at the single window, order, pay, and wait for 5-10 minutes while they prepare the order. This means even on a slow day there's 10-20 cars stuck sitting there for upwards of an hour or at least what felt that way. The drinks were delicious though and the hot chocolate specifically was some of the best I've had. We did end up going inside and the interior was super clean and the atmosphere was fantastic - like it says, it felt exactly like a genuine cabin. The bathrooms were also maybe the nicest ones I've seen outside of well kept homes. The staff were all super nice as well. The wait however was just unbelievable and I wouldn't feel right rating higher than a 4 with that being the case on a SLOW day with nobody even ordering inside meaning the whole crew was focused only on the cars and still took that long.

While driving through Fort Wayne, we were itching to get a caffeine boost for our last two hours in…read morethe car to Indianapolis. We looked up all the boba shops around, not expecting to find too much in the area, when we came upon Hoshi Hoshi. As soon as we saw "Mango Sticky Rice Frappe," we knew we had to go. It's great to see a really creative boba shop in Fort Wayne, especially one that (I think) is Thai owned, which is a big departure from the mostly Vietnamese, Chinese, and Taiwanese owned shops through the US. When we first walked in on a early weekend afternoon, there were no other customers in the shop, but as we waited for our drinks, more and more people started walking in until the place was completely full. I'm glad we were at the start of the rush rather than during it! Milk Tea, 50% Sweet w/ Boba ($6.95) - Toppings are $1 each which is kind of on the expensive side. The tea is pretty good for this type of drink, mellow with perfect sweetness at 50%. The boba is a bit too soft, resulting in a disintegrating exterior that's rough and craggy. The bubbles are quite uniformly chewy throughout and resemble more of a jelly than typical tapioca balls. (3/5) Mango Sticky Rice Frappe w/ Jelly Mango ($9.95) - This drink consists of a mango and cream smoothie topped with sweet coconut infused sticky rice, diced mango, and a salty cream cheese topping. The drink is like a creamsicle leaning more towards the mango flavor instead of the cream flavor. The mango jelly sinks to the bottom of the drink, allowing you to get a piece every couple of sips. I was kind of nervous that if the rice was intermixed with the ice that it would be hard and gross, but thankfully they constructed this drink pretty well. Super delicious overall. (5/5) There was one puzzling thing - the barista asked us if we were okay with Jelly Mango in the drink and when we asked if it was included she said yes. Then she went ahead and charged an extra dollar for the topping. Either that, or the drink is not labeled corrected in the menu at $8.95. Bizarre in either case. Bathrooms: None that are customer accessible. I was really surprised by Hoshi Hoshi. I didn't expect to see this kind of place in Fort Wayne. This is a definite visit next time we are in the area.

I don't want to hold it against them if the price of keeping fresh ingredients is sometimes running out of chopped green onions every so often. I tend to go during odd hours to eat so I'm usually not in a lunch or a dinner mix. For this reason, the place isn't crazy busy, leading to nice undivided attention. I do see it possibly becoming an issue if it was to get super busy. Each bowl is made-to-order, which means every customer gets full attention from ordering to check out. Maybe it's because the business hasn't picked up enough to warrant having a full assembly line like your Subways and Chipotles of the world. We'll have to see. As I was saying, ingredients are fresh, which is half of the battle for poke bowls. Sauce and side choices are very good, and best of all, your dollar goes a long way. I can easily fill myself up with relatively healthy bowl of poke for around ten bucks, and you get free miso soup!! Considering any fast food meals will cost a good fifteen bucks these days, I'm happy I can opt for a healthy choice for less.
