I called Amanda's Flowers the same day my parents would be arriving in Santa Fe to celebrate their 50th anniversary and asked if they could put something together that afternoon. They said yes, and they totally delivered! (In every sense of the word.) I gave them my budget ($100) and asked for the florists' choice. They asked if I had preferences on color, and the only thing I said was that I approved OF color. Lo and behold, they made the most beautiful arrangement that included my mom's favorite flower (which I wouldn't have even thought to ask for)- bird of paradise. That alone is worth 5 stars! But they were also super helpful when it came to figuring out chocolate accompaniments, for arranging flower delivery to the hotel, and overall they were very pleasant on the phone. The only *incident* was that the message in the card, which was for the 50th anniversary of my parents, read: "Happy 50th anniversary to the greatest parent." Avoid. A relative ordered a pricey arrangement w specifics for delivery. What we got was a "Christmas basket". No lotus seed pods. No fancy flowers. A few roses, carnations, baby's breath ... you get the picture. Pretty, but NOT what was agreed to or paid for. A 'nice' Albertsons arrangement. When I called and asked them to explain, they said they were "very busy, the manager couldn't speak w me (and never called back)", and they were "only doing Christmas baskets". Unfortunately, my experience with Amanda's Flowers & 1-800-Flowers was terrible. I ordered a Thanksgiving centerpiece from 1-800-Flowers for my in-laws and their family's Thanksgiving in Santa Fe, New Mexico as we do every year. Delivery was assigned to Amanda's Flowers in Santa Fe. When I placed the online order, 1-800-Flowers phoned me to get the recipients' phone number. I provided their land line number. The arrangement was due to be delivered the Monday before Thanksgiving. On Wednesday before Thanksgiving, I received a call from 1-800 stating that Amanda's tried to make the delivery on Monday, but the recipients weren't home and they couldn't reach them, so I had my hubby call 1-800 back and provide the recipient's cell phone number. He also provided his cell phone number and asked 1-800 to call HIM if there were any further problems. On Saturday, 1-800 left a voice mail on my cell phone in broken English stating that [something-couldn't hear what] was no longer in service and that they were refunding our money because they did not make the delivery. No one ever called my hubby to inform us of any further delivery problems, as he requested. I spoke with the intended recipient last night explaining how 1-800 dropped the ball. He said that the recipients were home all day the Tuesday and Wednesday before Thanksgiving. He said Amanda's Flowers left a voice mail on Wednesday to confirm they were there before delivering. He said he returned their call Wednesday leaving a voice mail at Amanda's informing them that they were home. The recipients never heard from Amanda's Flowers again until the Friday AFTER Thanksgiving, telling them that the flowers would not be delivered. We were all very aggravated and disappointed, and for my hubby and I, it was embarrassing since our recipients have come to expect them every year (I even told them to expect them this year), so they no longer make their own arrangements for a holiday centerpiece. This is not the first time I've been disappointed by 1-800-Flowers not making a delivery on the contracted date. I will no longer use 1-800-Flowers. Unfortunately, I know that florists like Amanda's are under contract with other national floral services, so even if I quit using 1-800-Flowers, there's a good chance that Amanda's Flowers could be the contracted florist with the company I use next year. I see in others' posts that they are a contracted florist with Teleflora too. Guess I won't be using Teleflora either. Way to lose customers for your contracted companies, Amanda's. read more

I had great expectations in this florist with all the good reviews they have on yelp. We walked into Amanda's Flowers and was basically just handed several arrangement albums instead of any sort of assistance. We finally ordered two floral arrangements and several boutonnières for my grandfathers funeral. When the Funeral Mass had begun we were told that only one arrangement was delivered to the funeral home. Amanda's Flowers apparently overlooked the rest of the order and never filled the order. I basically built the bouquet while I was waiting. The owner did not communicate any of the info I had told her and she wasn't even helping Ben get the order ready. Yes, I did order on Valentine's Day which I know is the busiest day of the year but still they went to the wrong address multiple times which delayed the delivery till almost 7pm. Specifically visited the shop to make sure I was understood! Even took the bridal invitation to get delivery information correct. Asked for " a mixture of purple flowers, with a touch of orange." Counter person said, "oh yes! I see the theme with the invitation!" Bouquet arrived on time, but the arrangement had some purple, some orange and a big splash of PINK in the dead center! I placed an online order for my mother on Dec 21st for delivery on Dec 23. An hour after I placed the order, someone from the flower shop called to ask permission to switch the arrangement from a pillar candle to tapers. They were out of pillars. I said that as long as the value ($80) of my payment goes into flowers, I didn't care what candle they used. What was delivered was an arrangement that had three carnations surrounded by pine bows with one tapered candle. Obviously not worth $80. I called to inquire what happened and the response was apologetic. However, the person on the phone blamed the "new designer" for not reading the order more carefully. Apparently the new designer wasn't pulling her weight. (Why does knowing this help the customer?) First rule of company culture and professionalism, don't throw your staff under the bus! Amanda's ended up solving the arrangement issue, but it required more follow up than it was worth. read more

It was delivered 36 hours late and the arrangement was missing 2 dozen roses from what was advertised. They attempted to make for it by adding some junk chocolates. Do not support this company. I am so disappointed in this shop and their displays. I recently ordered a bouquet for a dear friend and chose to support an independent business. The bouquet was quite expensive, $88.00 with delivery fee and looked as if it was thrown together by an amateur who went to local grocery picked up a nondescript, uninspiring bouquet. I felt so disappointed as it ruined the gift and was a complete waste of my hard earned money. I called back to report the disappointment. They did refund me $16.00! That felt like an insult. A reputable store would have called me back, listened and made an effort to repair the damage- none such. NEVER USE THIS SHOP- unless you see what they are sending first. This place is horrible!!!!! They didn't have any items in their freezer to choose from. My order was a walk-in one, but I have still gotten better service at other places. There were three people working and no one greeted me when I walked in. I asked for a arrangement under $20 for my mother in-law. All I got was an old milk glass with three little daffodils and some other mini flowers. When she was done making my arrangement she just left it on the table and walked away and didn't even say goodbye or anything. Very unprofessional and not worth the money I spent. For what I paid here I could have gotten a taller and fuller vase of flowers at the hospital gift shop!!!!!! Don't waste your time with this place. So disappointed in Amanda's! I live in Denver and my mom is buried in the National Cemetary in Santa Fe. On her birthday I asked them to place flowers on her grave and send me a picture-which they did and it made me happy. For Mother's Day I made the same request, spending a lot of money for flowers, delivery, and pic. The only thing I have is the bill on my charge card. I never received a picture. I sent an email, have called 3 times, (initially they couldn't find invoice that order was even delivered) and all I've gotten is a promise that Carol will call me back--never has! I called with plenty of time, paid for the service, and don't know if flowers were there.
